Itachi is one of many tragic heroes of the Naruto series. Despite his name being a direct translation of the Japanese word for “Weasel”, his honor and heroics go down in the anime history books as one of the most popular and well received anti-heroes in the world, beaten out only by Vegeta because people know him better (Itachi is still better than Vegeta though). Itachi’s story is the story of a man who has been screwed all of his life. A pacifist by nature, he was forced into war by duty. His Sharingan cursing him with the hatred of the Uchiha. Not hatred from within though. The deep seated hatred within his comrades. Had to watch his best friend die, had to kill his entire clan, had to alienate himself from his home and force his little brother to hate him after staining his hands with his own parents’ blood. Do you think it ends there? Nope. Itachi is diagnosed with a terminal illness that killed him at the young age of 21 years old. Among that, Sasuke didn’t even get to kill him as he had planned. Sasuke never knew what Itachi was going through. Not until it was too late. Itachi is a tragic hero, one who served his village and forsook everything after his little brother was held hostage by Danzo. He lived quick, died hard, and left behind a beautiful corpse. Or so the fangirls tell me. Itachi was truly an interesting character, one who tried to look at the bigger picture, realizing that had he not done what he had, a new World War might start when the Uchiha attacked Konoha. He and Shisui had a plan, but Danzo, the low-key villain of the series, steps in and says “Hippity hoppity, your corneas are now my property”. Despite all of this, he had to deal with a terminal illness, one that we never really learned the details of. I’m sure there are many a doctor, or Naruto fan who THINKS they’re a doctor, who can tell you what it was, but it was never explained. And thus, his young life was cut short. He ended up perishing before he could do much of anything afterward. But I do sometimes wonder what would have happened if Itachi had survived. And so, much like with Kurama, I’m going to do one for Itachi now. We’re going to follow the series from his point of view, but we are going to alter thing slightly by removing his illness just to see what, if anything, will change. So sit right back and try not to fall into a genjutsu, because we’re going to get into another long video!

Chances of the coup will continue, the leaf have Shisui on their side, with both eyes and still alive
the Uchiha wouldn't be pushed into a coup, its clear that the Nine Tails attack, being unable to fight back, and regulated to a genin's job to evacuate civilians is what started their ideas of a coup, pushing them to the outskirts of the village, a village that wouldn't exist without their clan in the first place, further fueled the fire of rebellion, all on Danzo's orders and influence
Hiruzen is a master procrastinator. Knew that the Uchiha were planning a revolt for several years and right before they’re ready he’s like “hmm how can I talk them out of this”
That's more because he still had Shisui's plan until like a few days before the revolt would start, and was entirely sure Shisui's plan would work in the first place. After his death, that's when Hiruzen needed to actually think of a plan quickly to handle this whole situation peacefully. And Ironically, both times where these men would probably have succeeded Danzo just comes in like 'Your plan won't work because I say so'. Like Amagi showed in one video, SO MUCH goes better for Konoha without that egotistical jackass around.

Really wish they would make a complete series on itachi and show his whole story from beginning to end when he fights his brother would be cool to explore that side of the story.
There were around like seven episodes in between the Infinite Tsukuyomi and the Kaguya battle that shows exactly that

The mangekyou isn't actually awakened from death but from very great feelings ( more then normal sharingan awakening) the stone tablet only says it needs death since black zetsu changed it

I can see Itachi and Sasuke both becoming the shadow hokages together while atoning from their sins while catching up from times that were lost. Itachi can also become the master sensei to all the shin clones and the leader of the police force. I also can see him being Sasuke's extra pair of eyes. I also can see Madara giving him his rinnegans as a gift of becoming the new leader of the Uchiha clan and after learning his hardships as Madara dies. Not only that, Itachi can teach Sarada to hone her skills while Sasuke is out doing his missions. I also can see the more light-hearted and goofy side of Itachi as he goofs around accepting rivalry challenges with Kakashi and Might Guy around the village.
Itachi should have never been killed off. Boruto the next generations would be so much better with him alive.

It’s fair enough to assume that a hypothetical healthy prime Itachi would simply have more chakra and stamina, everything will stay the same relatively speaking. It’s hard to gauge just how powerful Itachi would be exactly as he’s never been shown to go all out with the exception of fighting Nagato

he stopped eating nicely and taking care of his health after he killed his clan

@@argy7526 a thing that might change is that grisha tells the survey corps about the arrival of titan shifters because the top tiers in the survey coro like Mike, hanji, levi and Erwin and dependant on there devil fruits they'd be powerlevel the best thing they would have is the haki, Levi and Erwin most of the time have strong wills, while Annie, berthold and Reiner are always conflicted about their goals.
If amagi did do this series it'll take alot of work to do but it'll be worth it, deciding devil fruits with a complete random generator and it'll over all change the series.

We actually don't have to imagine "What if Danzo was good?" because he's always been good. He just had different, more extreme and Konoha-centered methods. While Hiruzen was trying to achieve world peace through treaties and trades, Danzo was trying to weaken the other villages and protect Konoha from the shadows.
@@louisrobitaille5810 the Uchiha's lead to nothing, danzo continued to conflict between them which ended making the village weaker losing literally dozens of strong Shinobi that could have protected the village, in the end he did nothing when pain invaded, nothing when orochimaru was invaded and had not helped the village at all, actually causing conflict and drama between hiruzen, himself and the other advisors, roat is also unethically and had lead to the unnecessary death of countless hidden leaf Shinobi which weakens the village as a whole, root Shinobi isn't even that strong

I feel like what Itachi did to Izumi is likely what makes him sick. He's not sick while in the Leaf. It's likely using the Mangekyo to do 70 years instead of say 3 days took a bigger toll on his body, speeding his blindness and weakening his body.

Itachi was the ultimate vilain at the start of the series. A dark version of Sasuke showing the potential power that sasuke could achieve. The plot twist that he was actually a hero, sacrificing everything for the sake of peace and his innocent little brother was one of the biggest ever.

Wait hold up, being a fan of Naruto for years, it's only occurred to me now... How did Sasuke's ENTIRE village his family, his friends, everyone, how did all of that not allow him to get a Mangekyo Sharingan?
I’m guessing because the mangekyo in the narrative is supposed to be only for important characters that have any bearing on the story otherwise if a fuck ton of them actually did have the mangekyo they’d be a bunch of people ripping each others eyes out or even hilariously obito and itachi would’ve had to bring the WHOLE AKATSKI TO KILL OFF THE UCHIAH CLAN I know it’s ridiculous but imagine if at least 1000 people had mangekyo powers , they’d overthrow the hokage lol

@@gwendellaugello7372 the thing is, a lot of uchiha did have mangekyo Sharingan. Fugaku, otherwise known as Sasuke’s dad had mangekyo Sharingan. This means there must have been others who have had mangekyo Sharingan that we haven’t seen because they all died of blindness that comes from excessive use of ms they died of other causes
All that awakened his sharingan, if he had a sharingan while all that happened he probs would've gotten Ms
Itachi becoming Hokage would 100% fuel Sarada's motivation to become Hokage as her uncle was one.

this is the only what if channel that actually does "what ifs" and not just fanfics
When your opponent has little to no information on you, and you are nearly-certain there won't be witnesses, having even one or two powerful opponents(chakra-sucker and summoner for example) constantly coming after you can test your limits, and force you to show your hand. Meanwhile, Nagato alone may possibly be taken out by an unforeseen opponent, like when Itachi uses the sealing sword on him in the war. Six avatars and oneself may be less powerful, but it is definitely more versatile when used to its fullest.
Had the night it happened the village would have been saved he could have got it both his brother and Naruto in the right path completely and he would have made a great adviser to Future Hokage as he itachi himself didn't want the role and the question should also be what if pain never got sick

Kishimoto said that if Itachi had not died, the war would have ended much earlier.
Also, Obito admitted that Itachi's backup plan in Sasuke's eye alone could have killed him if he hadn't hidden details about himself from Itachi.
So he openly admitted that Itachi could have remotely killed him from beyond the grave if he knew more about Obito.
Alive Itachi 100% would beat Obito in a fight.
the way I've always interpreted that statement isn't necessarily that itachi would beat obito in a straight up fight but rather he could figure out a strategy to kill him (e.g. Konan w the sea of paper bombs.) He'd more likely just try and force obito into an unwinnable situation

Itachi is most definitely my favourite character from all of Naruto just because of his kindness and overpowered abilities.

What kindness? He was a blind brainless soldier with sadistic tendencies. The truth about made him even more disturbing because before you could at least say he’s crazy. After the truth? He’s just a one of worst written characters in the history of manga anime with the most disgusting message. It’s because of people like him scum of earth stay in power for years. They have blind brainless sadistic soldiers to do their dirty work for them and then pretend it’s for “greater good” when it’s not. Imagine supporting glorifying genocides and the people who committed such atrocities.

The terminal illness is the overuse of the mangekyo. Zetsu hints at it in the sasuke vs Itachi fight, where they comment on Itachi acting strange, and then he zetsu asks black zetsu if it is because of overuse of the mangekyo. His blood coughing symptom is also something Sasuke gets in the fight against Danzo, which proves that Sasuke was getting ill in the same way Itachi was before he got new eyes.
Also, in a novel which takes place between Sasuke learning the truth about Itachi and him standing at the beach announcing that Hebi changes name to Taka as his mangekyo awakens, Sasuke goes on a journey to find out about Itachi's illness. He goes to the place where Itachi used to get his medicine that prolonged his life, and that medicine was eye drops that eases the pain the mangekyo was causing him. Sasuke used these eye drops as well as his eyes got irritated as his mangekyo was about to awaken.
one problem here, in the novel, the strongest version of the kotaro, causes contamination in the blood and chest/lung pain so it couldve been the side affects of the medicine, but sai's brother and also kimimaro had the disease and both of them had the same symptoms so it cant be sharingan overuse
Pretty good, it has depth and could actually be the reason how Itachi was sick but it doesn't explain characters that have this "terminal illness" but don't have a sharingan e.g. Kimimaro, and Sai's older brother. It still could be something worth interpreted even though much of it is head canon.

I think if Itachi didn't have his sickness holding him back and die where he did that he would have gotten stronger by the end of the series just like everyone else did. He would have been an absolute power house even more than he already was. If he lived I could see him becoming Hokage instead of Kakashi considering Kakashi never wanted to be Hokage, and Itachi would be a perfect Hokage really. He has all the right attributes for it. They would just need to tell everyone in the village the truth about everything to clear his name.

Super awesome video! But I do feel you kinda missed a few points in the beginning... Like Obito stated he would take out the non combative uchias not Itachi. And Hurizen did wreck Orochi by taking his hands. It set in motion him needing to heal it and having to cut open the Shinigami stomach to get it back.
Itachi hands are underrated he has some of thr best taijitsu and he has the fastest hand jitsus in thr show and hes speed is just as good

Genuinely like this storyline more and also anime has plenty of moments where things don't line up or make sense so I think the cheat moments thrown in here are fine heck I feel like Naruto would probably haventhe same strength and abilities as the canon universe simply cuz of plot armor
