Call for a global day of action for Gaza

- Ismail Patel, chair of Friends of Al-Aqsa and author of “The Muslim Problem: From the British Empire to Islamophobia,” discusses the designation of 13 January as a global “day of action” for Gaza by peace activists worldwide.
This call for global action comes after nearly 12 weeks of demonstrations across thousands of locations worldwide, ranging from Malawi to the United States, including support from Icelanders, South Africans, and Native Americans.
The aim of the global day of action is to draw attention to the widespread condemnation of Israel’s continuous bombing and siege of Gaza, which claims about 300 lives daily. It also seeks to highlight the ongoing ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, discrimination against Palestinians within Israel, the dehumanisation of Palestinians by Israeli leaders, and Israel’s attacks targeting Syria and Lebanon.
The 13 January global protest is intended to mobilise the international community to confront the allies of Israel, express solidarity with the Palestinian people, and bring an end to the genocide.

This view is spot on. I am so disappointed in my country (USA) for our blind support of Israel and the current Israeli government led by the war criminal Netanyahu. We are being dragged into a quagmire, becoming isolated in the world and it makes me wonder who is really running the USA.

About two weeks ago - after enduring10 weeks of this holocaust of sensibilities, morality and especially truth - I finally lost my faith in my government, our media, our institutions, our society and even so-called 'civilisation'.
It is the existence in the world of persons such as Ismail Patel here which meant that the existential loss of faith described could never encompass people as individuals. Well said and keep up the good work Sir.

Why no global action to stop the war in YEMEN when thousand of children killed???
I was very vocal about that war that the world ignored; however, how can you compare these situations? The war in Yemen was barely televised, but we are currently witnessing a live-streamed genocide.
The Palestinians have endured military oppression for almost a century (basically the last colonial settler project alive in the 21st century) and 3 months of genocide in Gaza ( and attacks in the West Bank) has killed almost the same amount of children that 8 years of conflict in Yemen.
So what is the point of your comment? No action for Gaza because children in Yemen are also dying?
What about Sudan then? I will support any of the calls to end violence there. I have actually signed many petitions for my gov to stop arming Saudi Arabia to prevent the war in Yemen
