I've been watching ALL of your videos about almost a year now. You inspires me to take a risk (buying materials needed for oil painting) ang get out of my comfort zone (discover new things). But I have one problem. I don't have enough money and time to make my very own artworks. I'm just a student, but others says.. I have a unique skill regarding on painting. I've been competing on many schools. I always relying on my classmate's artwork materials to finish my works. But... My family don't support me at all, I have to provide myself to seek and buy stuffs I needed for oil paint. I started to save money and spend time on making graphite sketches for commisions but failed. At the end, maybe I could just wait until I get old before I can buy all my needs in Painting. Thanks for inspiring. It helps a lot♥️. Maybe I could pursue my passion..someday...

There are no mistakes in art there are no rule in art and there are no such thing is perfect art . That’s what makes a great artist is be who you are , feel, see , imagine, not listening to others telling you to make your art perfect and level up your art ,and how you experience things in life just like people like Van Gogh and me . That’s a true artist .

That's backwards. A portrait is a work of art that not only captures likeness but expression/personality/mood regardless of the medium, where as a photograph is just a literal camera reproduction that may not reflect all those things. The former is a much more artistically impressive thing.

Well, I paint (since 42 years) with oils (now mostly digitally) and yet her advice can make me paint better. Mostly as it is also my "check list", too, but I tend to forget it :S. And as it is brilliantly and beautifully explained. Watching oils used (so masterfully) in a video, after so much time since one's switch to digital is like a redemption. And hearing her easy to understand explanations (but to the point and key), I can see how the classes can be life changing for a painter, newbie or not. A very interesting aspect of it, too: What you learn from her is absolutely translated to digital painting as well.

I do paint “from general to specific” (meaning I work on bigger shapes and only then on details) but I go about it one area at a time, I don't like to spread colors or block out shapes too far (like the whole face at once for example.) So I paint section by section; it seems to me more organized. But of course I can return to the parts of the painting I've already worked on and adjust them further if I need to. I hope this makes sense :)
