This is SUCH a helpful video in so many ways! I am soooooooo in LOVE with your art and your combination of realism and creativity within your paintings. I’ve been following for years now, and you’ve helped me a LOT in my oil painting journey. It’s my passion. Thank you SOOO much for sharing with us your art journey and your knowledge. I appreciate it SO much!!
I just found you. You are so good. Someone asked when it's too late to start. Never. I'm 62 and recovering from an injury, unable to work. I just started painting 5 months ago. I started with acrylics. I pay an Artist for studio space & supplies. He's very impressed and got my into oils. I did my 1st portrait, everyone tells me it seems as though I've painted for years. That is why I check out Artist on RUclips, so I can learn from you.so far, you're the best and I'm already getting great tips from you, so thank you for having a channel.
Really enjoyed this video, you should do more like this Daria. Love hearing snatches of an artists life as well as how you tackle a painting, lovely works :)
Imposter syndrome is also a very big problem for me. Especially when the time between projects is too long too many thoughts like "oh, you just got lucky it worked out so well this time, next time you may mess up big time" can come up. Not only is it super bad for my day-to-day mental health but its also super bad for business since it leads to me vastly undervalueing my work. And it messes with my creativity a lot as well, since I cant paint anything if I'm afraid to mess anything up. 😅
Jennifer Gennari, Alpay Efe, Lena Danya! I love them too! I hope you can do a collaboration with Alpay Efe some day. Many people wanted that to happen in one of his videos!
Oh, This figure painting is very beautiful!! I really love this style. and made me not only inspiring, but also study how to paint. Thank you for sharing!! ✨😍
Oh My Lord. Screw anyone who has anything negative to say about your paintings and how you go about them. You are absolutely incredible. And I don’t mean that in the sense of just encouragement for encouragement sake. Your work is astonishing. I would sue to be able to do what you can do.
Daria wow what a beautiful painting you are so wonderful beautiful beautiful I love your paintings they are so amazing they belong in a museum for everyone around the world can see your fantastic works of art Tiffany ❤️ 🌷
I appreciate the dedication that you put into your artwork inorder to make it this much eye-catching!You're so talented.... And by sharing your talent, you help lot of virtual friends around the world..... Wish you the very best my dear friend ❤.... May you succeed in everything you do🥰.
Hii! 🤍 Found you today while randomly scrolling! I've been wanting to paint since days but I couldn't find enough motivation to do it! By watching your video it inspires me to go and pursue my passion!Really appreciate your talent! Gonna try it soon
hi Daria, thanks so much for the video! It is beautiful and informative. I have a question related to the toxicity topic, when it comes to clean your brushes and you might use water and soap for example, don't the small bits of colors going down the drain contaminate water? I am trying to find an answer to this but it seems very hard to find a complete guide explaining the environmental impacts of oils. Thanks so much.
I also used to use Linseed oil to make the brush run a bit more fluid and not turpentine (smells way, way less than Turpentine, and for me, it's much easier to work with). By the way, your skill extremely good. I've said it before, but your work reminds me of the good old classics from centuries ago, that subtlety that the eye can perceive is not usually seen in photos, and which you catch with so much rich detail in tones and actual details, and beautiful blending. And that level is very difficult to find, today.
Lovely to have a catch up video, always like the ones when you talk a lot lol. Some interesting topics, imposter syndrome?! Didn’t expect that. Recently had a visit to west dulwich gallery, mainly for portraits by old masters, but there was also Helen Frankenthaler:Radical Beauty abstract Impressionism. Mind bending. Will be interesting to hear what catches your eye in the Dutch museums and galleries. Look forward to more videos like this :)
Hi Daria, since you have so many skin tones mixtures in your paintings have you thought about using earth colours like Yellow Ochre, Red Iron Oxide? They are much cheaper than Cadmiums and the Red is very opaque too. :)
Keep it up.. I never color my portrait lol not sure why.. May be Arcylic not my choice and I had some oil paint a friend gift to me but it was hard.. I thought it can be painted without oil. Love the eyes first step first painting.. Keep it up
I love watching videos of you! It makes me feel inspired and pursue oil painting. I’m just curious though, I saw that you paint to a vellum board. How do you do it? Do you prime it with gesso first or just paint as it is?
Have you tried water soluble oil paint for easy, non toxic cleaning? One brand also uses only non toxic pigments. We are so lucky to live in these modern times! I love your work! Don't over think things too much, if it looks good, it is good. One of the best pieces of advice I've heard is that it takes 1000's of mistakes to be good at painting so get busy and start making them. Thank you for sharing your work!
I haven’t tried water-soluble oil paints myself but several people who took my classes actually used water-soluble oil paints and had good experiences with them. That’s a great advice. Thank you!
2:00 I'm used to digital drawing/painting and my habit is to make base color then layering with darker or lighter color, oil painting is difficult for me :(
Sei bravissima , a dispetto della giovane età, grande padronanza dei colori e del pennello .. Mi piacerebbe rivedere come realizzi i colori della pelle Chiara e scura
I sure do, and I’m not consistent all of the time. I think the way to get motivated again is to stop thinking of the outside approval (or possible disapproval) and stop demanding something from yourself, let it all go and focus on what you like, on what you want to do. Look at the good and exciting aspects of what you do and just start it, whatever it is. Once you’ve started - it gets easier. Of course everyone is different and I don’t know your particular situation, but I’m sure you’ll figure it all out and I wish you all the best! :)
Is her portrait style realistic or like semi realistic ? Hyper realistic is like when really really really looks like the person your trying to paint like tooo realistic but I like her style but idk if it’s semi realistic or idkk
I have Lamp Black color which I use occasionally but not always, it depends on the painting. Usually you can get some good dark tones by mixing Burnt Umber and Ultramarine Blue.

Hi what camera do you use to record your videos? Love your art!
how do you clean your palette
I use a scraper to clean it.
(I use glass palettes and they aren't very hard to clean, especially if the paint is not completely dry yet)
Hey! What paper do you use?
Ogni opera, una meraviglia infinita
Quali sono i colori che hai usato ??
Grazie a prescindere
Amazing art I enjoyed
I have a question, in what type paper do you paint?
You are awesome.
Do you use a wood panel or pallete paper?
Hi Daria
Have you Had Brush Stroke Accidents on The Paintings?
May I kindly ask how do u draw ur portraits :>
Is her portrait style realistic or like semi realistic ? Hyper realistic is like when really really really looks like the person your trying to paint like tooo realistic but I like her style but idk if it’s semi realistic or idkk
Where do you have your camera to record? Id like to start recording my art process but i don't know where to put the camera ^^;;
Please share a video tips and trick how to paint like you
Drafting job killed my wrists. Gave up art and painting. Hurts for 2 days if I paint for 2 hours. Any advice?
Daria, do you use mediums?
How long did it take you to come at this high level?
hope you have more basic tutorial..step by step too..

Have you ever made a self portrait?
I haven't yet but I painted my sister quite a few times and people often get confused and think that those are self-portraits 😅
@@DariaCallie hahaha well maybe that's an idea for another time then :)
hi do you use black color in your paintings?
