I lived in Hawaii as a kid in the 70's. Today it looks so different and commercialized. When we were there, there used to be wide beautiful parks before you reach the beach area. Looks like its all been replaced by commercial buildings and expensive shops.

I was there the week of the 4th of July and I wish I could be there now to live. My soul was lighter there.
There is definitely an energy with Hawaii.
You are so organized and knowledgeable. Do you do private tours of Oahu? If not, who do you recommend as a private company to pick you up at the airport and maybe take you on a private North Island tour? Appreciate your advice.

The PCC is a huge area. It's definitely a full day event.
What beaches nearby have big strong waves?
The North Shore have big waves (for surf competitions) in our "winter" season which is December, January & February. Waves get get as big as 30ft or more!

Was just there this July , how about showing all the homeless in there tents and all the tourist puking all over because the bars stay open until 4 am Hawaii is a shat hole
In Waikiki? Most close at midnight. There's just the 1 that stay open till 4am. There's more? Tell us✍✍✍
Waikiki is a tourist trap, everything is super-expensive, tons of homeless, Waikiki Beach is a narrow strip of sand. I was born there, lived there for 55 years and I will NEVER go back!
Eh, pricing depends on where you go. There's lots of affordable (under $20) options and Happy Hours to mix in with the pricier options
how sad....I lived in Hi in the late 1970s/early 1980s and could walk along the sidewalk and see the ocean....NOT tacky stores....you can see stores anywhere...I want to see the beach in HI
You can. This walk is down the main street Kalakaua Ave. The sidewalk alongside the ocean is by the Hilton Villlage (starting at Hilton Lagoon, walking past Hale Koa, over to Outrigger Reef).
