$10,900…. In that condition and configuration. Just unbelievable
That car need a lot of work. You can spend 15,500 and find something immaculate, like it just came of the show floor.
and some fool paid it
@@boomerdc Maybe not. Maybe he made an offer, one that was reasonable.
I need to get that elbow spot installed in my cars
Always LOVED these Gen Camaros!!!! Takes me back to my HS years!!
The more I look at this video, thats a RS model someone stuck IROC badges on, the iroc had tuned port injection not throttle body injection.
Bro u not lying, I said the same thing as well. All irocz from 86 to 90 came tuned port 305 and 350, 87 to 90 came 350, only the 85 yr had the carb, I had an 89 5.7 that came with a whole history book on the rocs, so yeah he definitely cappin 😅😅
Wrong
I had a 88 iroc z 305 tbi
Red and Ready!!!!! 😍 Don't see many of those around anymore!👍
Jesus that is the most stripped down IROC I have ever seen, wow!!!!
Sadly the IROC Z was just a suspension and appearance package. But yeah. You're right. This is almost like the work-truck special. 😂
Not to be mean but 11 grand is crazy for that. That thing had to just have had the old scuff, filler, and shoot paint job on it. there is over spray and defects everywhere and the body gaps are all over the place . It needs a whole new interior and all the dryrotted moldings replaced the windshield mounding is missing and the famous iroc fog lights plus there is a massive dent in the crossmember some one did some dukes of Hazzard stuff with this car. . I'm looking for a clean iroc to go with my clean 83 z28 but I've seen better ones for 5 grand. Spend the time replacing all that's needed and fix the paint and maybe it would be worth more money
Really nice car. Really good price. Love ❤️ Maple Motor's.
This car is a Z28 survivor,u guys have to know that is almost 35 years old,new paint, decals and stripes,I noticed have different parts ,from another Camaro like the seats came from base model Camaro, but remember is almost 35 years old, also on the motor compartment is a little metal plate whit some #'s,and this plate only the IROC-Z and The GTA Trans Am has it ....lot of people get fool🤣but car is not that bad for he's age, also ,IROC'S and GTA,'S as top models came whit power windows, and 4 disc brakes, positive rear end ,etc,etc...
You know what Nick?? Even with its flaws i like this IROC because it reminds me of my 85 Z28 i bought brand new back in the day when I was young. Thanks for the ride. You do a good job Nick!!
Thank you very much
These are what's known as "as is" cars. No warranty. He points out the flaws and even says what the car needs. No offer to fix said issue. These are some cool cars from their time. Project cars at the very least. This Camaro at $10900 was one of the more reasonable priced I have ever seen on Maple Motors. The gaskets and other work is gonna set ya back. I'd maybe give $5000 for it, and that's a generous offer.
Owned a 1988 Iroc-Z with the 5.7 Tuned Port Injected engine (225hp). Only available as an auto with the bigger engine. Nice car but slow compared to cars today.
So are computers, so...
Didn't even know these were available without Tuned Port Injection in 1989. My 1985 Iroc Z had TPI
Had a 85 5-speed 350 bored 30 over t-tops wouldn't stop popping out really fun car my personal favorite Camaro body style
I had a 1985 IROC Z same color but mine was a tuned port injected 305 V8. It didn’t have an air cleaner on it.
Had 3 of these in my day. Wish i kept one
Yep, wish I had mine back too!!
I sold my 91 Firebird GTA somewhere around 2018-2019 for 4k and now im sad
That thing was below 100k miles needed engine work though (blow by)
But probably could of made so much more
This one looks like a standard Z28 modified to look like an IROC. Engine should be 5.7 350, where are the front extra fog lamps?
Modified .blowing smoke. Beater car. Save your money 💰 prolly paid 3-5k ..rolled it thru a paint shop and quick flip it for double the money with all the problems. 😢
They had 305's in them also
In an IROC Z28 I'm pretty sure it supposed to be a Tune Port injection 305 or 350?? I owned an 89 RS and everything on it was like this one.... This one needs a lot of work and money put in even though it ran out and sounds good..
Tpi was optional This was base engine it was crap
Tune port injection was standard on the IROC Z 28 in 89
Its my dream car from when I was 12 years old. I remember telling my dad I was gonna own one some day...lol. However, I dont think I feel the same about it as I once did...
I mean I'd still buy one. But it would need a bigger engine swap like yesterday.
My father in law just gave us his mint condition 91 z28 with the 5.7 cold ac 17k miles all original one owner. It’s a beautiful car
Not 89 IROC Z wheels
Love that body style & color, would love to have it. Great for summer.
I bet you'd find a Scorpions cd in that thing somewhere!
I have a 78 but I love the third gens too!
I have a 87 can’t wait for spring!😍💪🏾
I do love to watch Nick enjoying all this cool rides
Would love to see the RPO-sheet in the centre-console
Apologies Nick if I come across as a troll , but the Z28 I Roc , looks always a pretty car . It sounded great . However, with your honest appraisal, holy cow it needs some work . Just for a giggle I checked out the Uk pound to the US dollar and 10900 US $ works out at £9086 pounds UK . As an entry level muscle car with the work that needs completing it . Wow I think massive coin to bring her back to its former glory ❤? I’m biased though! I’ll always love the 6.6 Trans Am with T-Tops , in black and gold of course 😂😂😂. Great job Nick , sorry for waffling on . Stay safe bro . Dave UK 💪❤️🏴🇺🇸
I wonder if it's been flooded 🤔
Those black things coming out the vents are mouse droppings happened in my car as well.
can you scan for codes for what light is on for?
Is the injection light part of the package?
This car came out when I was like 11 years old, it was first car I really ever wanted, I dreamed of this car at that age,
Unfortunately I had an uncle who has since passed away, but he was a car thief
I actually was able to drive this exact car in 350 ci when I was only 12 years old lol
How would anyone know if the radio works if you don't have the face plate at the time you review the car?
If it doesn’t they will just leave the faceplate in the car, but yes I should.
Cool ride!! I own a 92 Z28 . But correct me if I'm wrong but i thought the 89 IROC's came with the TPI 305 or 350 that car is a TBI and the wheels are IROC wheels but GM change the wheels for 89 and the IROC was the high end Z28 and I thought they all came with power window .
Your right I had a89 IROC z28 cars all wrong came with power everything and had the tune port injection 5.7 automatic or the 5.0 manual 5 speed my found the car at a local dealership. When I was a sophomore in highschool my savings and pops chipped in paid 8,000 grand for it 1994 used with 45,000 miles on it. Now days many z28 are converted in IROC z28
@@calmarsh3648 Yeah I agree I wonder if he checked the vin no to see if it was a real IROC.
I know I've already commented on this, but I wish I could have found that car first and would have saved 3 k could have gave 6900 or 7900 for it. Damn good find Nick!
you never said the miles???
11k, tad optimistic, no ? I love this era.
I owned a 1991 Firebird with the TBI 5.0 it would smoke the tires like crazy.
Car looks great and in good condition would be a great candidate for a 350/Holley EFI crate engine swap. I almost bought a 91 firebird back in the day with a 305 and it was gutlass .
No joke. I had a 90 RS with a 5 speed and 305 and i couldnt believe how slow it was. Thankfully i was 20 so still easy to entertain. When i jumped in the 99 firebird formula with the ls1 a few years later, it was night and day, even with the long rear gear and automatic trans.
It's crazy how much ignorance there is here about this car. Here's the facts:
1989 IROC-Z was available with a 305 or 350. 350 was strictly an automatic whereas the 305 had a choice of manual or automatic.
TPI was not standard either but TPI was the most common sold. TBI 305 was the standard motor.
Z28 was not an option in 1988.
1990 was the first year airbags became standard not 1989.
145 mph speedos came out in late 86 and only on the TPI motors.
Wheels are from 1985-1987. IROC wheels in 1988-1990 looked slightly different.
IROCs came with fog lights. This car does not have fog lights but the switch on the dash is there so....could still be an IROC. The only way to know for sure is at 20:08 The RPO code sticker in the center console should show code Z28. The B4Z code was the code for the IROC package pre-1988.
A lot of fake IROCs out there, even dealerships were converting regular Camaro's to look like IROCs.
Also in 1989 you could check the N10 box on the 5-speed cars.
That gave you an updated true dual exhaust with dual cats.
The larger hump on the passenger side floorboard gave it away without crawling underneith the car.
She’s a beauty. That won’t last long.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought all those gen IROC camaros were powered by a tune port injection(305 or 350 engines). I believe you got a RS model with a IROC decal package.
You could get a carb in the '85 IROC's
The base engine was the carbureted L69 305 HO.
No, base engine in an '89 IROC was a TBI 305.
LB9 305 TPI or L98 350 TPI were the optional engines.
Nice looking ride Nick! But did the wipers work? AC? Thanks
We knew we would eventually see Nick Southgate "drop" his camera lol haha 🤣
Put a 454 in that Camaro
🙄
I been own Z28 's and IROC,'s,,this is a Z28,whit the tbi motor ,a red Z28 ,looks exactly as a IROC Z,if you put the IROC rims, and decals, but the motor, rear end and suspension make the difference......
Don't think Z28s were offered in '89. Brochure says IROC-Zs and RS
Would love a clean example of this in stick, kinda picture it as a dream roadtrip car lol
I like fishing too 👍
When did they put TBI in IROC-Z'S? The IROC-Z was supposed to have TPI only
Before 91’ had the l98 and 91’ up had lt1 with tuneport
TPI was never standard in the IROC-Z. Base engine was the LG4 305 carbureted or L03 305 TBI engine depending on the model year. Had to pay extra for the TPI engine.
@@dennissmith9577 This ^^^^^ Back in '89, the TBI 305 was standard in IROC-Zs
@@cardayfree7560 actually 93 and up had the 5.7 lt1 V8. Then in 1998 they started having the 5.7 LS1 V8. The 1991/92 cars were the last of the 305/tpi 350 cars actually.
For that price nick she won't stick around long, you don't see these much anymore ! Wife had a 83 Z28, dam good car ! Babies came & it had to go ! 😁👍🏻
You got that right!
Still got a canary yellow 86 great to cruise in on a summer day
Is it a fast car? I plan on getting one they look nice but someone in the comments mentioned that they are slow compared to cars today
@@skullxer they are slow honestly if u get one find a 90s one with a 350 tpi I have a 88 C4 too and it would dust the iroc
It is not the fuel injected engine, hence engine light
Carburated 1989? What is it, 5.0 or 5.7?
not a fan of those tailpipes sticking out beyond the rear fascia
This reminds me of my first car. Loved the car but locked the motor up never changed the oil when I was young. Was my second favorite car out of all sports cars I have owned over the years 1st was my T-Top trans am.
got 1 for sale now . not sure if im ready to let it go just yet
Anyone know why every GM car from 70s and 80s has a failed tach?
The service engine light could just a lose or bad gas cap
Got a 89 Iroc-z as well! That one is in way better condition than mine though lol.
That Iroc is only worth about Four thousand Dollars.
Check engine lights and all..
Those cars were good looking but built very poorly.
Wrong wheels for an '89, but how many do you see on the road these days?
If that's really a 305 then it's not an Iroc because it Has an automatic transmission.
The automatic Iroc's
had 350"s The standard Iroc's had 305's
305 w/5sp.
Either that’s not an 89 or the rims have been changed
That is one cool camaro IROc Z! . Am definitely digging that 08s vibe 🤘🏻🤘🏻😎 with beautiful red Corvette.
If you want to shed 25lbs from that baby just drive it in one Michigan winter.
it has the popular 700R4 transmission,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Service engine could be 02 sensor
Didn't have any luck with this body style but I know people that had 350s and they're better. My T tops leaked water and the dealership never could get it fixed. But a good driver
The rims are not the correct rims for a 1989 IROC. The rims on this car are from a 1986 or 1987 IROC.
I thought these were all TPI motors. 305 and 350 cu.
once the LG4 305 4bll was discontinued, the L03 305 throttle body V8 replaced that as the standard IROC engine, starting in 1988.
"I DrIvE An IrOc BecAusE I ROCK!!!"
Not an iroc. Regular z28
Z28 Camaro itself were discontinued by GM in 1988.
Some irocs came with no power windows,is a fact, people ordered the way they want it
its not charging by the looks of it, probably needs an alternator- an easy fix. Ten grand though, what do yall think of the price?
Looks like an RS with irock stickers. But still a good looking car. It's very hard to find them in that good of shape.
In 1989, the IROC-Z came standard with the TBI 305, with an option for the TPI 305 and 350.
It’s a clone irocs all had 350 tuned port injections in them from the looks probably not a real z28
Nope. 305 was an engine choice in '89 in the IROC.. It appears be the weakest option that only put out 170hp... there was a TPI option but this is definitely not that option.
Lmfao no they didn’t
The Iroc Z had available 2 different 305 engines
Iroc z definitely came tpi 305 and 350 😂
The 350 wasn't available till mid-year in 1987.
Had an 83 HO 305 5-speed. It was a fun car to drive.
Nice I had two just like it
Don't think it is a 1989. The wheels were a clue but that car doesn't have an airbag
My dream car when I was 8 years old
Nice body for 34 year old car, 305 sucks! Crate 383 and some TLC would make this Iroc Z. a really nice cruiser.
MISSING THE POWER WINDOWS
Is the car all original?
Last carb was 84, engine repaced
Could be the starter.
No air conditioner.
Any of you guys heard of a iroc on a corvette frame and motor?
Pretty car. Just not a fan of the exhaust tips.
Now days a equinox has hp then that 305 camaro 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice 👌
Thanks 😊
Yes!!!! Horn. 😁✌
Cool 😎 !😊
Wow love this car, and the 305 engine is one of the Best engines, thanks Nick great video stay cool 😎 and have a wonderfull Day 🤩 🤩
Thanks for watching!
lol 305 is junk
Awesome CAR!!!!!!¡
And yet a 80s square body chevy is $30k... just don't get it
Sold?
Yes this one is on hold and should be paid for today
I will change the listing here when that happens
Not factory wheels, very base Interior, shoddy body work passenger fender/front bumper cover ,305 tbi...weak sister of the bunch, overall decent car but for 10k still options out there, new England area
dang, prices are just cuh-RAZY these days. 3 or 4 years ago this would be a $2500 car all day long...
You really dont see these much now a days, glad to see a clean example, would prefer a firebird, but this one is nice
It's weird because I liked this 3rd generation of Camaro more compared to the Firebird, but once they switched to the 4th, I liked the Firebird/Trans Am much more.
