😂😂🥰
This really helps! I'm in nursing school and just snagged a job working in the hospital and my family tends to get me unisex scrubs and these videos saved my life. I hate looking like a box in my scrubs, you're awesome! Thank you soooo much
I'm impressed! Good job! You have a great personality
Your video was the first one i clicked when searching DIY scrub joggers & im so happy it was!! I love how real you are!! ill be watching for more :)
That is awesome to hear!!! Yayyyy! Thankyou :)
Thankful I'm not the only one who needed to make my scrubs look/feel more appealing to me. Feel good, work good 😃 thanks for the vid
This is awesome! I definitely need to try this soon. Changes the entire look
amazing content keep up the great content
You are an absolute JOY to watch 😅❣️ I've been anxious about tailoring my scrubs (Being a nurse since 1994, I've got countless pants that DEFINITELY need tailoring! I never used to care before but, for some reason, I now want them not to look like I'm wearing a fabric bag over my body.
Thanks for sharing 👍 I will for sure check out your other DIY nursing videos!
You are awesome and we need more nurses like you. I used to teach for GCU and you're getting an excellent education! I ordered scrubs, which I never wear, so I can go to California and help out at a hospital that is overwhelmed with staffing challenges due to COVID. The scrubs arrived and they are so baggy and I wanted to know how to make adjustments and your video was perfect. While I am an accomplished seamstress, I think I would have made the mistake and worked on the outside seam but this is much better!!! Keep up the videos! From an RN, CNS, PhD
That means a lot thank you so much for sharing! Your going to California? Where do you live now? Will they be including flight abs board while you go there to help out? Looking back at this video, I would of took a little more time but i was in the moment just having fun 🤣 glad you found it helpful!
I liked this DIY,for sure fixing my baggy scrubs tonight 👍🏻😁Thank You!!!
Ive been doing this for years
Too shy to make a video
I glad im not the only one who makes multiple stitches
🤣🤣🤣 I wish I would of took more time making it haha but it’s true lol
If all videos are like this one, I plan to watch them all, hahaha! I bought some figs final sale pants, and the legs are so baggy. I am limited with my sewing machine skills, and this is just what I needed! Thanks!
Thank you!! I just bought a sewing machine for my baggy scrub pants. I love your video!!
Haha thank you 🥰🥰
Thank you, im looking for this kind of video and just came finding out your channel
You are adorable! Your lucky patients to have a stylish well tailored nurse!
Haha thank you 😊
Awesome idea! I really don’t want to buy new scrubs when I have like 10 baggy ones. Just going to do this to keep up with this new style. They looked great!
Yes!! Just don't rush it like i did haha! The stretchier the fabric the better!
I noticed when you first stared sewing your machine was sliding away because you were trying to push the fabric to fast. i find its best to pull with one hand at the back while also sort of lightly pulling towards yourself at the same time and use your elbows to pull to the sides so it doesn't wrinkle. Just a little tip from one seamstress to another. You did over all great job though!
Definitely appreciate the feedback! I learned to sew on a machine, when I was very young from my mom but as of lately, I have been teaching myself through watching RUclips videos.
Hey Lil D!! Thanks for the Video!! I hope you have an amazing Easter Sunday!! :)
Thank you for this video! Just passed NCLEX-PN and of course I can’t afford cool scrubs! I’m going to be altering all my scrub pants now 😁
Yay congrats! Yess do it! Haha just plan it out a little better than I did
Congrats!
Wish I saw this an hour ago 🤦♀️ my scrubs are huge!! I still have another pair to fix, thank you for this...been looking how to make mine smaller...
This is awesome! I definitely need to try this soon. Changes the entire look 👍🏼
It's even better if the scrub pants have some stretch. The material on this pair does not stretch lol but they do look cool
@@DabidRobinson and then cut up a sweat shirt and add a ribbed cuff lol
I love this!!! trying it tonight :)) Thanks so much u seem like a sweet nurse
Awe haha thank you. Take your time and they will come out better haha
I have some baggy scrub suits to alter and I wanted to do it by myself as I wanted to learn sewing as well. Thanks
Just gonna go ahead and wave goodbye to drowning in my scrubs. Thank you for this!
Let me be your life jacket haha
Awesome video :) if you try your pants on inside out and use saftey pins to mark where you want to sew the new inseam it helps so much!
That is a really good tip haha thank you
I’m a veterinary technician and recently lost some weight so all my scrubs are now too big. Thank you for this video, it was very helpfull! 😋
Yay!!! Just plan it out a little better than I did haha!
I'm so excited to try this!
If you take your time, it can surely turn out sooo much better and use a thread that better matches your fabric :)
Thanks!! Gonna try this
You can leave them a little looser and add elastic band and turn them into joggers!!! Thanks! Love it. New job new uniform. Thrifting and getting a set under 10 bucks! 🤑
ypou can use a sweat pants waist line and the rest of the pants as cuffs to finish the look an even color block ...Michigan R.N. / Fashion Designer LOL
You are adorable! Thanks for the tips on making the legs skinnier!!
Happy to help!
I love this! I am also a guy, work at hospital and I sew also. I pinned mine and marked with a seam guide but you did good. :) thx for the video it made me smile.
Haha I want to give it another try
i have to take mine in and let mine out in places they really only make scrubs for women (even the unisex are female leaning) unless you go expensive and purchase a dedicated brand like fig...ect ......cause we sew we can create anything and because you know there's a market there you go a business idea
THANK YOU! ex scene kid here, need scrubs for my MLS program. NEED them to be skinnier! life saver
Yesssss haha
I finally did this to my scrub pants that are basically bell bottoms on my chicken legs and omg this helped me so much. I had to do it by hand but it was well worth the effort
Your chicken legs 🤣 yay!!! That’s awesome! I’m glad it helped
Nice and funny video. I love your commentary
🤣🤣 thank you
You DID that! 💯👍🏿
Thanks girl 😏😏😏
I'm no expert either but I have been sewing since my grandma gave me my first needle at 3 years old. I appreciate your video. I'm trying to fix an oversized pants for my bf since he is not used to anything other that good 'fitting' pants. :)
😂😂 Im sure you’ll do better than I did lol
You are hilarious. Thank you for sharing.
I love that “you’re not an expert,” but that you go for it anyway!! It gives me confidence to pull that dang sewing machine out of the closet to try free styling it myself!! Thank you!!
This was a fun video to make and I did not expect much from it but the feed back has been awesome! Yes dust off that machine and give it a try lol
David Robinson I legit tapered 13 pairs of pants today because of YOU!! 12 scrubs and one pair of Prana pants!! Thank you so much!!! I did draw a chalk line. Good tip!!! I had to rip out a couple of seams but you showed me that it’s no big deal and that’s something else that gave me the confidence to go for it. I was really cruising at the end. Really great job with your videos. Thank you!!
You go girl!!! That is awesome! I bet you were a pro by the end! This comment really made me happy :)) Thanks fort supporting the channel too!
Appreciate the video!
yayyy thank you so much 🙏
Hey fellow nurse thank you for the very helpful video
Happy it was helpful!! 🥰🥰🥰
Great chalk tip!
Yess it would of definitely helped haha
Awesome!! I’m going to head to the thrift store and see if I can make any $1 pants similar to my Figs skinnys & Figs joggers! Thanks for the vid. - Elly - RRT
Do it!!! Just take your time unlike me when doing it haha. Send me a pic if you do!
buy sweats or sweat shirts the same color as the pants thats how you make the cuffs and waist band
So I’m not sure if someone had commented this already but you could put your pants on inside out and use pins to get an idea of how much to take them in because you already have them on. Might save you a little time with the seam ripper. ;) they turned out great! I have an old pair I’m going to try and take in tomorrow. I’d like to add a cotton cuff to the bottoms to look more like joggers/figs
Honestly… I don’t think anyone has mentioned this haha good idea!
A big tip that helped me was doing a basting stitch by hand. It’s basically just pinning with thread. Put them on and thread a needle with no knot, and a giant running stitch- that way you can try it on, and pull out one long thread as you sew instead of a bunch of pins
yes inside out nd go to a dollar store and purchase some chalk also to get the figs effect thrift a sweatshirt or sweat pants and use those for cuff and waist line with eleastic also at the dollar store (dollsat tree actually has the elastic and chalk)
“Start on the bottom and go to the crotch.” 😂😂😂 That’s a GrEaT idea!!
Great video! I guess I’m just confused on how to get rid of the scrub fabric that you wanted removed. Do you just cut it off?
This was life saving!
Can you PLEASE do one for scrub tops 🙏🏼 mine is baggy and loose
I’ll have to get creative
I’m doing these right now and there are videos on something called fisheye darts. Also called contour darts or body darts. They look scary at first but darts are just triangles you hide excess fabric in 😅. Good luck 👍🏾
WOW you did amazing! Can I send you my scrubs so you can do this to me! I've been drying for skinny scrubs! I don't have does skills though!
Yes of course! lol
Lmao. U always have the option to buy a scrub wtf
@@indoalivio9239 hahaha that’s what I did bc I have 0 time to do it myself 😒😂
Can you do one with a lighter color of scrubs. It’s hard to see your seams. But thanks so much for this video!
This is a really good video. Maybe someone already said it before, but using some safety pins as you fit them will save you about 600 passes/seam rip sessions on the machine. A bit of chalk along the safety pins (on both sides!) is the key. Once you replace the safety pins with sewing pins... unless you hate your needles, that is... you will have a line to follow nice and easy. The back and front are not always the same, so the chalk line lined up with the sewing pins will get that perfect fit.
I just got a job at a hospital and bought some scrubs from goodwill that have the opposite problem as this. They're too tight! And I can't return them because of some policy... yet they don't even let anyone in the fitting rooms anymore! Fortunately, I've been a costumer for 20 years and can fix it in a few hours (you add a strip at the sides, sort of like sports pants, for the leg and waist). What I wonder is how much creativity I can get away with on my scrubs while still being professional. Never worked anywhere that I had such an informal uniform.
ok what you do is find a sweat shirt the color of the pants thrift that too do strips and do the seam line at the knee for the scrubs and the sweatshirt so it looks intentional and then use the red to make cuffs at the bottom and you have a unique creative way to resize them
Yes thank you! I can start wearing my proper uniform again instead of skinny jeans 😂🙌🏼🙏🏼
You’re adorable!😊😊
I am SO doing this
Yessss! Just plan it out a little better than I did haha
Do the seems tear when bending, turning, or squatting? 🤔 Or maybe more lines will make the stitching stronger?
First I would recommend using a color thread that matches the scrub fabric that way if the stitching comes apart, it is not so obvious but if you plan on wearing these to work I would recommend going back and giving it a double stitch. These scrub pants do not have much stretch but choosing a scrub pant that does have some stretch would be better.
I have old lady flabby arms and would like to make a cute extension to my scrub arms for more coverage....can you do a video tutorial on that? Maybe using material that matches or something stylish. Love your videos!!
take long sleeve shirt cut the arms off and sew the tshirt at the hem of the arm match the thread color and you have a extension and depending on where you cut it can be a full long sleeve or 3/4 sleeve
How do you hem cuffed scrub pants?
So I always buy second hand scrubs and I'm super tiny so I look like I'm swimming in a size small. I'm trying to make my scrubs look like the fit me
Not a bad idea, especially with scrubs being so expensive lol
can you squat down all the way though?
ok lets try😰
What size needle in the machine for scrubs?
regular unless you have the super stretchy scrub then you need the same needle that they use for spandex (ball point jersey)
If I put them in a washer dryer would they shrink even a little bit?
That would depend on the fabric. The fabric of these ones I have in the video do not shrink
@@DabidRobinson okay thank you!
What happens with the extra fabric that’s sewn off? Does it just sit tucked, and folded inside against the leg? (Sorry, I think I may have missed that part)
Yeah or you could cut it off lol
and make sure you zig zag stich it in place of serging it after you cut off the excess to lock it in place
5:17 oh bitch makes me crack up
😂😂
Thanks for that! I doubt my hospital will allow me to go super skinny but I will defo have a go at making me look like ive lost 5 stones - good bye to my baby elephant look! Whoo hooo!
madam i have seen girls just coming from brazil with new butts busting out of scrubs and they cant say anything because were in 2022 and body shaming is a thing so use it to your advantage
long as it isnt inevitable to rip with movement you could go skinny as you want
So did you cut of the excess material??
No but you definitely could!
What kind of Nikes are those?
Nike Janoski
I thought yall went a size smaller
Like
I’m sorry but I don’t consider those joggers. These are just fitted or skinny scrubs. 😪
did he say lil d coming at you??
I'm dead lol
I love your videos, but I can't subscribe. Please help
Awe!! Do you have a RUclips account and are you logged in?
boy you give me freaking anxiety, why not just try them on or find a pair you like that fit and map that out as a guide.
Maybe I should remake this video haha
