I just became an instant fan of Dr. Mike. As a female DO, after the crap I saw posted by people degrading our profession because Trump’s Doctor is a “DO” and therefore not a “real doctor” and the disastrous figs DO commercial, it truly brought back memories from when my friends said they’d rather go to Caribbean medical schools which are notorious for low standards and for-profit agenda than to go to a DO school because of stigma. I chose a DO school because I valued holistic medicine and back then, I remember thinking to myself “what an ignorant comment to make about DO profession” and this week just brought back those terrible memories, IDK where those “friends” are now but it’s a sad reality that their words ring true even in the 21st century.
Dr. Mike is literally so pissed right now. But the way he is giving $20,000 to med students, nurses under training and resident docs is so thoughtful and beautiful...
I know the feeling. Im an (up coming) animal activist. I get so pissed when people try to defend animal abuse. Sometimes getting pissed lets people get the point across. My point is, there need to be more people like Dr.Mike in the world.
@@evaseq2238 Ikr. We need to have more people like this Dr here in this world, trying to fight the misinformation and doing everything he can to help medical trainees.
@@evaseq2238 And please continue to be an animal activist. We need more of you guys as well. I love you for your work💜 And if anyone tries to defend animal abuse, just slap them across their face 😑 Such people are not needed in this world.
@@taurusfiend5836 as a DO student myself, I can tell you there’s VERY little difference. DOs get all the same training as MDs, but we receive extra training in what’s called osteopathic manipulative medicine. We focus more on a holistic, preventative approach to medicine. I prefer the osteopathic approach, because I feel it offers more options to patients.
Fun fact: in Italy, DOs and MDs are VERY different, they are absolutely not the same. DOs are like physiotherapists here, they massage and do rehabilitation after injuries, they treat athletes etc. they are absolutely NOT allowed to practice as MDs because they are not MDs; DOs and MDs have a COMPLETELY different type of training. That’s why the first time I heard dr Mike was a DO I was confused to say the least!😂
“I learned from female physicians. I am who I am today because of female physicians” I happy cried a little bit because I have never heard a grown man (especially one that I respect) say something like that about women. Thanks for being an amazing role model!!
I just got hired to work in an eye clinic and in my team, there are only three males including me. The rest of my team is 10 females. I am the technician I am today because of the females on my team.

My mom works in the medical field and we never used to have money because she was a mother of 4 and she was trying to become a doctor. It was hard for hard for her to get scrubs. We ended up scraping up enough money and she is now she met her goal
Congratulations to your mom!! She is amazing, strong and dedicated! That is such great news to hear that families working hard and together to reach those goals and dreams. Dr Mike, I'm a surgical tech at a level 1 trauma center in Dallas. I've been scrubbing for ten years in two of the biggest teaching facilities in my state. When I see this, it disgusts me to my core. I know that young med students and residents are broke, I see it everyday. My weekend team puts on a family dinner once a month for us, and our docs. We make sure to bring plenty, because half of them either forget to eat a real meal or can't afford anything more than a simple snack. Thank you for standing up, Candice
And this is why I love doctor Mike. He is willing to sacrifice his own time and money to help other people in and out side his work place. He is honestly an amazing guy and we should all support him
TIP for everyone who needs scrubs: go to your local goodwill! You can find really good sets-tops and bottoms- in a bunch of different styles and colors for only a few dollars!! As someone who’s still in undergrad, this has been super helpful!
Figs also had a similar AD with a male nurse with a "nursing for dummies" book also upside down, threw it away and shrugs. How can a company like this think its okay to insult those you are trying to sell to... I'm a nurse in Canada and so many people I know are paying even more just for shipping and duties for this company who doesn't deserve it. Thank you Dr.Mike for always supporting all of your colleagues. I'm not in a place to need the scrubs but applause to you for the generosity giving to those who do!
And I doubt the models on their site are actual medical professionals. I really doubt actual professionals would pose in the way Figs has on their site.
I find it super interesting that the instance where they had a "stupid male" model, it was as a nurse, the field where males are negatively stereotyped the most. So rather than showing they're not sexist by targeting both males and females, they're doing the opposite by further adding to the negative stereotypes of the most stereotyped groups. There's no way that all of this is just a coincidence, there must have been some forethought into this.
Not to mention these scrubs are sooo form fitting and some of the tops don't look like scrub tops but blouses. Plus insanely expensive just to get body fluids on
the google form only allows one link. but many companies sell top and bottom separately. Please fix the form to allow and top and bottom separately as link and sizes may vary.
Friendly reminder: you random people who are not in the medical profession don’t need scrubs. DO NOT FILL THE FORM, let our healthcare heroes get them please 💛
People in the medical field, being trained/in school. Not one of you buy I thank the world for you everyday. Without good docs, nurses and surgeons I might not be here.
Thumbs up for this post. Im a freshmen in college trying to go on the medical track, so I will need it in the future, but for now let them be in the good hands of people who can maximize their uses.
It’s really sad that there are medical professionals who can’t afford scrubs. Hospitals/clinics/etc should provide those; heck, McDonalds provides their employees with uniforms. Thanks for helping, Dr Mike.
Here in Germany our hospitals provide us scrubs. End they stay in the hospital where they are washed with high temperatures to prevent transmission of germs and viruses. The thought alone to take my scrubs home or buy them is repugnant to me.
I am a nurse, and a student midwife. In Sweden, where I live and work, the hospital supply the scrubs. I hold my card up to the cabinet, get up to 4 pairs of scrubs, then throw them into the laundry shute at the end of the day. New scrubs every work shift, and I don't have to take them and the germs home.
yeah i did an internship in a hospital here in germany and was so confused by this video because it’s the same concept over here, you get your scrub in the morning when you start to work and at the end of your shift you put your scrub in the laundry bin for it to be washed
That's pretty cool! Thanks for sharing how that works in Sweden. I think there are a lot of potential solutions to resolve this. None of them involve "meh, let the medical student figure it out" sheesh
The fact you’re willing to put aside your own money for doctors and nurses who need scrubs and amazing to me. Thank you for everything you do Dr. Mike!
From Brazil... The idea that hospitals are supposed to be for-profit... I get annoyed at the "medicare for all" because they still don't talk about having medial access. Government paying medical bills works for us in Brazil because SUS stands for 'systema unica d saude'... Not single payer... Single system. 75% of hospitals and clinics belong to the government
There's something to say about a society where medical professionals need to buy their own scrubs and teachers their own classroom supplies but professional athletes don't buy their own uniforms.
I work at a scrub store part time and as a vet tech full time. There are some companies that pay for employees scrubs but if they don’t whatever you buy if it is required for work you can keep your receipts and write it off on tax’s.
@@stephgerber9551 same with the teachers. But I just think it's sad and frankly, pathetic people who wants to work and help others need to save a receipt to get some money back. All while others that DON'T need the money, get things for free.
Yep - thankfully Paramedics get assigned a generous volume of uniform changes and they are laundered by professionals to ensure you don't take home any infectious material here. Anything gets worn out, it is replaced. If you want healthy, well turned out staff that is how you manage it.
I had to buy scrubs for my part time job doing mask sterilization. I didn’t realize they cost so much. A basic pair of pants was 50 bucks, and basic top was 25-30 bucks. Y’all, these are uniforms. We shouldn’t be requiring them to be purchased out of pocket. My brother works EVS for a hospital and he’s required to wear a specific color and have his embroidered with the hospital name. If you’re requiring that of your employees, find ways to subsidize it.
I agree they should be provided. They weren't when I worked in medicine at a hospital. It was equally ridiculous when my husband was a LEO and we had to pay for the body armor, uniforms (dry clean only of course, which adds up quickly due to all the fluids and parts they are in contact with daily), safety equipment, etc.
Especially because it is not like you take care of them and they will last, obviously they can but what if they get blood and stuff on them than cant just wash off and is considered a biohazard.
My dude this is awesome. I had no idea that even an issue. Figs: “ayo you need scrubs, just post this for us and we-“ Doctor Mike (shoving figs out of the way): I’LL BUY YOU SCRUBS
I ordered two Figs scrub tops about two days ago and went to my amazon account with lightening speed in the middle of your video to cancel my order. Thank you for this video and educating me.
I am so glad I found this video. I am a nursing student who just got a job as a nursing assistant. I have never bought or owned a pair of scrubs and figs was always being advertised. This video literally stopped me from looking into them. I also didn’t realize how expensive basic, required supplies are until I started nursing school. You would think there would be companies out there that know how empty pocketed students are and sell things we can afford. Thank you Dr. Mike for standing up to big fortune companies and donating your money. You are making more of a difference then they ever will.
Lauren A Congratulations on your job! I used to work in a clothing factory. Pay was enough to keep me and my son in an $80/month apartment, having cold cereal for breakfast and bologna sandwiches for supper. My friend sat him for free. The jeans we made sold for $20-50 a pair. So, yeah, they get you going and coming.
In addition to the offensive and degrading ad against women and DOs they still have one up that has a male nurse with the book upside down juxtaposed with a male MD with no book. Just another way to degrade people in healthcare. I'm an RN and I loved the male nurses I worked with. They are just as valuable as female nurses just as female and male doctors (DO and MD) are of equal value in their field. Male and female health professionals are all valuable and make up the great teams that make hospitals and clinics function.

@@kindnessisalie5411 So you’re about to graduate from high school and go into college? Okay, well here’s the general breakdown about the process of getting into Med school. 1) Bare minimum requirements: prerequisite courses and the MCAT. During your undergraduate education, you need to make sure you take and complete all the courses required for Med school entry (most school require the same courses with some variation. When you get into college/university, your academic advisor can help ensure you take all those classes throughout college). Then, you also need to take the MCAT, which is another standardized test (like SAT and ACT) needed for Med school applications. Of course, it goes without saying that the better your undergrad GPA and MCAT scores are, the better chances you have of being accepted. 2) Clinical exposure/experience during undergrad. Though not all schools require it, it significantly improves your chances if you have prior experience working in a hospital/clinical setting with other healthcare workers. This can include shadowships, volunteer work, or even paid jobs. (My experiences included shadowing doctors in the Emergency department, and being a medical scribe where I was paid to write the medical notes for a doctor as he saw patients throughout the day). Make sure to plan for that. Sometimes you might need to take a gap year after you graduate college do you have the time to gain that experience (I took a gap year so I could scribe). 3) Anything extra that makes you stand out. This can include and research projects you did in undergrad, volunteer, job experiences, extracurricular activities, achievements/rewards, etc. 4) The Medical school Primary application. When you’ve graduated and gathered all that you could from the points I mentioned above, you’ll then create an electronic application packet where you include all of the information above, as well as important documentation, letters of recommendation, and personal statement. This is known as your primary application. You’ll then send this out to all the schools you want to attend. 5) Secondaries and interview. If you meet the minimum requirements, the Med schools will send you a secondary application to fill out. This usually consists of essay questions about why you want to be a doctor, why this school in particular, what are your strengths/weaknesses, etc. keep in mind that EACH medical school will send you a unique secondary, so often students will be completing on average 20+ secondary applications. If the school likes your answers, they will then send you an interview invite, where they try to get to know you as a person. If the interview goes well and they like you, that’s when you’ll receive an acceptance letter. Well, I know that was a long read, but if you got through all of that, I hope it helped explain things a little bit better. One tip I would give if you wish to one day get into Med school, start planning early. A lot of these things I mentioned take time to prepare for, so the sooner you have a plan set (even as yearly as your first year in college) the better and easier your life will be. Again, I hope this helped! Best of luck in your future endeavors!

@@kristamarsh7212 I was wondering that too. Their price had originally been what kept me away from them because they're so so expensive, but the sexist ad was where I drew the line. Don't care about the quality, that ad is inexcusable
I'm currently a nursing student and a single mom, so to say I'm broke is an understatement. I just wanted to say thank you, even if I don't get scrubs, I'm happy knowing someone else will. I can barely afford 25$ scrub sets. Why people would buy figs is honestly beyond me. They're wayyy too expensive
Look into Mandala scrubs. I buy their masks which are great quality. Their scrubs are pretty cheap, and they show you the “true cost” to make them vs what you pay
I used to buy my scrubs for a home health job from Walmart, and honestly they were really comfortable and had great pockets. Goodwill and Salvation Army are also great places to check for secondhand scrubs.
Imagine if the greedy, biased jerks who make these adverts had a life-threatening medical emergency at the beach. And the only doctor around was a female D.O. in a bikini. Would they refuse treatment? We all know the answer is a resounding *no.* In such a situation, they'd give anything to get the female D.O. doctor's help. Because deep down, they know very well that she's a fully qualified professional who can save their lives. And that's why sexist people are hypocrites. Dr Mike, thank you for covering this topic, and for all the good that you do.
as a medic i’m extremely happy to see Dr Mike talking about Figs’ sketchiness. as a medical student it is sooooo easy to be taken advantage of in soooo many ways so its nice to see a big medfluencer talking about this sort of thing 👏🏾
What actually shocks is that in the US people have to buy their scrubs themselves😳 in switzerland there is usually a room beside the changing room where there are scrubs in all sizes. You take one, use them and at the end of the day put them in a bin and there are people who wash all the scrubs in strict hygiene conditions and then put them back in the room. Its for everyone: drs, nurses, therapists, etc. But if thats the way it is in the US I think its really great what you‘re doing dr mike!
We have that too but specifically for surgical scrubs, sometimes there will be one you can get for other purposes too but most non-surgical employees wear their own
It depends on what you need the scrubs for. If it’s needed for sterile procedures and such they are provided. Idk I prefer to buy and keep my own scrubs so I have control over how they’re washed.
That usually is only for OR & L&D sterile areas, or med. students that they are checked out to every day. The worst part of that is coming in & discovering there aren’t any available in your size! Then what do you do?! Have usually had to go up a size or two & pray someone has some safety pins to pin them with, and/or find a pair of pants with a tie waist so I can tighten them up enough so they don’t fall down. Can be very tricky at times, esp. if the sizes remaining are smaller, then they won’t fit.
@@JaimeDornanLady it's the same here in germany. Sometimes sizes were out of stock, but generally it was enough. We just had a lot I guess? There was one shift though where I had to go up 3 sizes in trousers and 3 in my shirt xD The trousers we had were with an elastic waist and a lace too, so even the huge trousers were very adaptable and didn't slide down.
I'm a medical student in Sweden, and while our hospitals provide us with the scrubs we need (and wash them etc) I really appreciate this gesture of yours. It's not easy being a medical student here, and I reckon it's even rougher in the States. Kudos to you!
As a nursing student we need a pair of scrubs for the training facility, but in Norway that was provided by the Nurses Union when we joined. Protect unions so they can protect you.
As a female IMG who wants to do residency in the states the way you talked about female doctors made me tear up a bit. Thank you for being so positive and supportive!
Some of us are actually struggling and I have never bought Figs due to the price alone. $50 or more for just pants or just a top is astronomical. Thank you for speaking out and keeping your morals intact. We stan.
The advertisement of the female doctor in pink scrubs was disgusting. As women we are constantly having to prove ourselves in the work place that we are more than competent and not that Figs advertisement, especially in male dominated medical specialities. The perpetuation of "women are stupid" and taking advantage of students that are heavily indebted is appalling. This advertisement and their whole philosophy only aims to line their pockets and does not help the people they "claim" to be making these products for. Thank you for your support and bringing attention to this issue. You're our healthcare hero too! ❤
For real, the ad was appalling. I'm shocked at other comment subthreads here where people are defending the company on the grounds that they're pro-BLM. That's all well and good, totally, but I bet if the woman in the ad were also black, those commenters would be singing a different tune. Anyone with any sense should care about how this ad attacks women and DOs in general, there's nothing okay about it. Even with a male and no particular specialty named, it'd be a tacky and condescending and tone-deaf ad.
Are there other ads with men in the same pose (in blue, reading a gynecology book upside down)? They may just be ill advised, and not specifically sexist? Not defending, just trying to get some context
@@birdyfeederz7940 There was no male equivalent that I could see. But even if there was a male alternative of that nature, that also reinforces the narrative that male doctors are not good gynaecologists simply because they are male and do not possess female genitalia? I've seen and heard that stereotype in play too. Both of those scenarios are sexist to both genders, and both wrong. The figs ad just furthers damaging stereotypes in the medical field which we all try so hard to reduce. I hope that's given some more context 😊

I respect the hell out of him. I'm not a US citizen, nor am I pursuing studies there. I am not pursuing medicine, either... But his integrity and work ethic is something I truly respect.
This is an incredible gesture (I really appreciate as a first-year med-school student), and the best part about it, you're not recording the reaction/receiving/giving of these to eventually make it into a click-bate video. It's a good deed just to be a good deed. Thank you! I'm fortunate enough to not have to do this, but I really hope that people do not take advantage of you and they allow people who are really in need to get a free pair of good scrubs.

I left this comment above-check out Petter Coffin’s series “adversaries”. Marketing departments do this on purpose to generate free publicity, then walk it back and apologize. So many people probably see ads before they get published that it’s obviously intentional. Great channel to check out!
I'm noticing a trend: You don't get too visually angry when it could mean patients are too offended to hear potentially life-saving information (like about vaccines). But when someone comes for your colleagues? Hoh boy. And then you do something productive with that anger and buy people scrubs. Seems like a good direction to go if you're going to get angry. ^_^
He made a great video about the anti vaxers. I don't think getting angry and yelling to an anti vaxer would make them change their mind, and the video he made has really great explanation about the matter =)
Patient autonomy trumps all. Getting angry at a patient does not help the situation and isn’t the right move as a physician. Instead, the route is to elicit more information about their perspective by asking open ended questions. No doctor can force a patient to agree with anything. The patient is ultimately in control of their body and their decisions.
As someone who is soon going into medical school, I appreciate this - i don’t need scrubs yet so I’m going to leave them to those who do, but thank you Dr Mike
This is so disappointing. I remember when I was applying to med school. I proposefully didn’t go the DO route because I’m a black woman. I knew I’d have to deal with being a black female physician and didn’t want to deal with people looking down on me because I’m DO as well. So I went with MD even though I loved the DO way of practicing medicine. We truly need to change the entire medical world.

Dr. Mike, Not all viewers understand the medical community and have no idea about Figs. This came off as a personal rant and I think a bit more of setup here would have added value and viewer buy-in. That said, your intentions here appeared to be sincere, so for that, well done! Your willingness to help struggling colleagues is definitely respectable and empathetic.
Dr. Mike is literally the loving, powerful advocate every person/medical cause needs! This video is such a boost to me going into my first RN job as a young woman❣️ bless you!!
My father is a DO and just retired from 38 years in medicine! I am so proud to have a DO in my family! Still have 2 semesters left of my undergrad but I'm hoping to get into the same Osteopathic Med school as my dad.
as a medical student whose drowning in debt, I truly appreciate that ur doing this Dr. Mike. Medical school has been hell, but I know it'll be worth it to save one life at a time :)
I was literally just looking at Figs looking for scrub pants and was baffled that the prices were practically the same as other clothing brands like Gymshark or even lululemon. As a nursing student in my last year and working per diem, scrubs are a staple and financially add up. The amount of money nursing students, any medical student, spend to fund their education and other finances is insane; so thank you Dr. Mike for speaking up for us and being a role model for future healthcare workers💛
Jaanuu is a great brand that lasts long and are great quality 😊best of luck in the field, we need more nurses. Also try Uworld for NCLEX studies, it’s a great study tool!
For people who don’t wanna use the link because the can afford it: TJ MAXX has GREAT brands and really good prices. I bought a pair (shirt and pants) of Gray’s Anatomy and it was 18-22 dollars! I know is not free but we should leave what Mike’s donating for people who actually need it💕
The Adar ones on amazon are also super reasonable for a set it was £20 ❤️ So comfy and loads of different colours! I’m not in the US so it’s a bit harder to find scrubs unless your hospital gives them out where I am
I was looking through Amazon and I'm sure everyone knows they have scrubs there lol, but if you go to the Amazon warehouse section it's where items are sold that had to be repackaged, that got dinged up at the warehouse etc. I purchase from the warehouse section constantly. It's always been accurately marked "like new" or "item not in original packaging" or "some minor scratch, mark on item". Since it's for Amazon to sell imperfect things from the warehouse it means all brands are there. I save searches for certain items and get notifications when something new pops up. Maybe useful for some of you. Might even have some super nice scrubs pop up there that are usually too expensive to justify. I use it for my "work" stuff (I work from home but it counts!), personal stuff, even *gasp* gifts. I know, embarrassing. I'm sure it's a faux pas but often I'm able to get something upgraded in fancy from what I could get new. Basically it let's you afford those fancy pants lol They can still be returned, I've not had any issues using them yet.
Your a beautiful soul... not only that you getting mad shows people and everyone that your just as human as the next person and I personally love how passionate that you are.
I don’t usually share videos, but this really affected me. As someone who’s mother is an RN and works with people who had advanced stages of Alzheimer’s and other Dementias, I’ve heard the struggles. And especially so now with the pandemic. I shared this video, and I’m proud. And to any medical professionals who read this, thank you so much for your service. I really appreciate what you do 🧸
And nurses and cnas. Housekeepers and dietary. Orderlies and in home care givers. Activities directors and anyone else who is in job that requires them
Not just doctors , to be honest they can get them easily ! It’s for the nurses struggling, and even the cna and gna that are completely overlooked and underpaid , and have so much knowledge but maybe didn’t have enough money for school to future their education
Not just doctors! They usually get issued them from their med. school/hospital for residents! Nurses, CNA’s, RT/PT/OT, radiation techs, lab techs all are in need of them & we all usually are required to buy our own!
I can't do more than repeat myself: I absolutely respect and admire your ethics. You are an amazing human being and thank you for standing up for others. You bring so much light into those dark times. And also thank you for providing scrubs to those who need. Send a lot of love. Peace and Love ✌🏽❤️
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I have always taught my children to "know your own value and never put yourself on sale". Medical professionals are not always given the respect and consideration they deserve, especially in the past year. The last couple of years my grandson's health has required us to have extensive experience with the local children's hospital and I noticed that his health care was totally a team effort. I've never experienced that at local hospitals but this was the best, coolest experience bc it really is a team effort and I appreciate everyone from the nurses to the brain surgeon to the new medical students who were in the PICU for the first time. You're all heros and deserve to be respected and not taken advantage of. Know your worth👍🏼

I had cateract surgery this afternoon and was supported by Med Students. They were lovely and caring and asked questions about my reasons for being there so young etc (May 2018 I had a detached retina and the cateract is due to that, it always comes up) but also answered my questions. Just a simple appreciation comment for them being wonderful and making me feel comfortable during a strange time. ❤️

Thanks, Dr. Mike for giving out free scrubs! I filled out the form for my boyfriend. My boyfriend is an MS2 and money has been a bit tighter since COVID. He only has two pairs of scrubs and one of them is a hand me down that was tainted with MS1 anatomy (I don't know if we will ever get that smell out-- they live in a bag in the trunk of his car). He starts rotating in April and I think he could do with another pair of scrubs or two (I have plans to order him some for Christmas as well) so we aren't doing laundry every day.
How much are a pair of scrubs?
@@kristamarsh7212 I was wondering that too. I buy at business, government, estate etc auctions, looking for stuff to restore and sell, sometimes tho I come across returns from Amazon, new but didn't fit so they are returned. I always grab those to give away. I'm around medical a lot because of my condition, so I've not bought new new before. I searched Amazon and scrolled thru reviews, my guess is $25 for cheap ones, some nice looking ones that look like they would be comfortable and not derpy are $50.
I did see Figs was at the top, they pay to get a banner promotion as well as priority on search results. They seem to be about $50 range too. Hmm, you can make videos about the products, like a video review... that's interesting. I wonder if people would like to know more about that company's ethical practices.
@@JaeElle I was wondering as Pippapotamus shared a very compelling story, and I would like to help get the boyfriend a set of scrubs.
I do not know where you live but another option to acquiring more scrubs may be to join a local "Buy Nothing" group through Facebook (I hate promoting FB). You can put out a request for whatever size he needs when you find your local group. I have also seen many scrubs at my local thrift stores for as low as $.99 per item on Sundays and Mondays when the Goodwill has that color tag on sale. I am just trying to help you save money and think outside of the box of traditional means of acquiring some much needed clothing. I do not sew but would seriously consider doing so if someone close to me did need them. There are patterns out there for almost anything. Thank God for health care workers!
@@kristamarsh7212 Hello, I live in Canada, a pair of scrub pants are between $20- $50 and the tops are normally $20-$40 and those are the cheap ones. If you want a quality pair you're looking at $100-$200

I’ve bought FIGS before, but didn’t know about these practices or this particular add campaign. They’ll do fine without me, but maybe not without the whole Dr. Mike audience.
The audience is made up of caring individual medical professionals/students like you. Every single one counts. Thank you for your hard work!
I'm so sorry... I'm not focusing, I thought your neck is so long 🙈 forgive me hehe
Try goodwill or other thrift shops. My parents are nurses and we're pretty poor so when they need new scrubs we go there and it's super cheap
You’ll understand when you have an income again.
I used to buy my scrubs for a home health job from Walmart, and honestly they were really comfortable and had great pockets. Goodwill and Salvation Army are also great places to check for secondhand scrubs.
What size do you need? I have some new unused scrubs a few M and L from when I was in nursing school I will gladly ship you some if you’d like.
And that's why sexist people are hypocrites.

as a medic i’m extremely happy to see Dr Mike talking about Figs’ sketchiness. as a medical student it is sooooo easy to be taken advantage of in soooo many ways so its nice to see a big medfluencer talking about this sort of thing 👏🏾
We have that too but specifically for surgical scrubs, sometimes there will be one you can get for other purposes too but most non-surgical employees wear their own
Yeah when I had my rotation in periop, the OR had clean scrubs that you would use then return after you were done for the day.
There was one shift though where I had to go up 3 sizes in trousers and 3 in my shirt xD
The trousers we had were with an elastic waist and a lace too, so even the huge trousers were very adaptable and didn't slide down.

You have to prove yourself because deep down even you knoq that women belong at home with children.

You're the reason I only see white male physicians.

Nothing like Dr. mike advocating for the little guys! Your such an inspiration. Thank you for defending our jobs and making medicine fun!

Basically it let's you afford those fancy pants lol
