Hope you guys enjoyed learning about my Top 5 things to do in Kaikoura! Let me know if you have any questions about anything mentioned in the video!
Kaikoura is an incredible little town on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island, and it is definitey a New Zealand Hidden Gem. The resiliency that the residents have shown over the past year has been nothing short of admirable. I wanted to show you guys why you need to visit Kaikoura! It is a nature lovers dream destination, and actually, there is something for everyone here. The Kaikoura earthquake really took its toll on the town over the past year, but they are open and ready for you to come and see them =)
Here is a list of all of the activities listed in the video, and links to their sites! I am not affiliated with any of these organisations, but I know many of the owners and they are fantastic people, and I just wanted to show them and the rest of Kaikoura some love by making this video.

Thank you very much :-)
Kaikoura is so beautiful! We've not spent much time there at all and after seeing this we really need to make it back there and every activity you listed looks incredible. Flying over the whales looks SOOO special. Thanks for this video!
Its a pretty underrated spot!!
Inspired once again, thanks for the great footage of your experiences.
Thanks a lot Steve!! 👊
New Zealand is blessed with such an amazing landscape and it's so high on my list, thanks for sharing an amazing video with so much info.
It really is an amazing place!! Thanks for watching man 😀
Great video! I've walked half of the peninsula walkway. I'll do that again for sure! I really like this small town, very beautiful.
+Yanjun Cao nice! That is one of my favorite things to do when I'm there =)
Never heard of Kaikoura before... awesome... so many things to do, and beautiful sea-life! :) Wanna go there someday!!
Thanks mate! I would say that most people probably haven't heard of it. But thats part of the reason for this video!
Brilliant video as always. I had a friend here in the UK who was visiting the close to this area during the earthquake in November 2016. Very scary but luckily they didn’t need to be evacuated
Thank you friends! Yes I heard that it was a pretty scary time for all of the tourists in town! But its pretty amazing at how the town has bounced back and is ready for 2018 🍻
Wow really nice video! We're flying to New Zealand in February and we're planning to stop in Kaikoura for 3 days. We definitely have the whale watching as a top 1 activity to do and this video will definitely help us to decide what to do on other days! Keep up the good work!
+SloSveps oh that's excellent! You guys will have a lot of fun! Glad you enjoyed the video =)
Kaikoura looks like a beautiful place! Seeing all the whales, kayaking with dolphins; I don't think you can get any closer to nature than that!
Such a gorgeous spot! Thanks Yvon!
Our favorite pick from your 5 things to do in Kaikoura list is #2! N-Z looks pretty much like BC in Canada!! Nice top 5 bro!
Thanks guys!! It also definitely reminds me of BC =)
Very cool. Thank you.
Cheers! You're welcome
Kaikoura is such a nice place to live everyone is so chilled I miss living there
Agreed! Would love to live there
First time visiting your channel. You are absolutely darling! I haven't been to NZ yet... but it's on my list.
Thanks so much!! Welcome 😄
So many chances to meet wildlife in New Zealand! Observing the whales from the sky is the top!
Absolutely! The wildlife is incredible down here
At dolphin encounter now! Excited
How was it!?
Speaking. From a person who lives there there's way more to do
Yes, no doubt, Kaikoura is awesome!
+counselling & words totally!! =)
Amazing videoo!! Question tho. My girlfriend and I are planning to go to the Peninsula walkway. I'm jus wondering if you had to get a permit to fly your drone there?
Thanks!
Hey mate, thanks for asking. Not just anyone can fly their drone here. I had to go through and application process with the Department of Conservation. It's a sensitive area due to the wildlife so you have to apply to fly there and you have to pay as well. Also many of the aerial shots in this video were from helicopters. Let me know if you have any other questions =)
I live in kaikoura
im going there for christmas
I'm traveling around November first week and I have a day to spare can whale watching and swimming with the dolphins be done in a days time and is it a good time in November in terms of the weather?
Hey there, yes you can do both in a day if you do the sunrise dolphin swimming and afternoon whale watch! November is typically great weather as it's coming into NZ summer
Thanks a lot good sir 👍
Number 1 for me IS The albatross encounter, number 2 albatross encounter and number 3 albatross encounter
Love it man! Those birds are amazing
Went whalewatching in Kaikoura back in december 2019, we saw both sperm whales and humpback whales, a lot of orcas, and some bluefin dolphins, loads of birds as well. 10/10 I would recomend.
Agree with you there 💯
.......and pray there won't be any more earthquakes there.
Absolutely!
My family owns Kaikoura
The Manawatu Family
So... can we crash over there? Seems like a nice place
holocaust encounter?😅
