    Hope you guys enjoyed learning about my Top 5 things to do in Kaikoura! Let me know if you have any questions about anything mentioned in the video!
    Kaikoura is an incredible little town on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island, and it is definitey a New Zealand Hidden Gem. The resiliency that the residents have shown over the past year has been nothing short of admirable. I wanted to show you guys why you need to visit Kaikoura! It is a nature lovers dream destination, and actually, there is something for everyone here. The Kaikoura earthquake really took its toll on the town over the past year, but they are open and ready for you to come and see them =)
    Here is a list of all of the activities listed in the video, and links to their sites! I am not affiliated with any of these organisations, but I know many of the owners and they are fantastic people, and I just wanted to show them and the rest of Kaikoura some love by making this video.

    Kaikoura is so beautiful! We've not spent much time there at all and after seeing this we really need to make it back there and every activity you listed looks incredible. Flying over the whales looks SOOO special. Thanks for this video!

    Brilliant video as always. I had a friend here in the UK who was visiting the close to this area during the earthquake in November 2016. Very scary but luckily they didn’t need to be evacuated

      Thank you friends! Yes I heard that it was a pretty scary time for all of the tourists in town! But its pretty amazing at how the town has bounced back and is ready for 2018 🍻

    Wow really nice video! We're flying to New Zealand in February and we're planning to stop in Kaikoura for 3 days. We definitely have the whale watching as a top 1 activity to do and this video will definitely help us to decide what to do on other days! Keep up the good work!

    Kaikoura looks like a beautiful place! Seeing all the whales, kayaking with dolphins; I don't think you can get any closer to nature than that!

    Amazing videoo!! Question tho. My girlfriend and I are planning to go to the Peninsula walkway. I'm jus wondering if you had to get a permit to fly your drone there?
    Thanks!

    • @itsryanwilkes
      @itsryanwilkes  6 лет назад +1

      Hey mate, thanks for asking. Not just anyone can fly their drone here. I had to go through and application process with the Department of Conservation. It's a sensitive area due to the wildlife so you have to apply to fly there and you have to pay as well. Also many of the aerial shots in this video were from helicopters. Let me know if you have any other questions =)

    I'm traveling around November first week and I have a day to spare can whale watching and swimming with the dolphins be done in a days time and is it a good time in November in terms of the weather?

    • @itsryanwilkes
      @itsryanwilkes  4 года назад

      Hey there, yes you can do both in a day if you do the sunrise dolphin swimming and afternoon whale watch! November is typically great weather as it's coming into NZ summer

    Went whalewatching in Kaikoura back in december 2019, we saw both sperm whales and humpback whales, a lot of orcas, and some bluefin dolphins, loads of birds as well. 10/10 I would recomend.
