Yeah I actually found a way in my country to save them by converting them to glp this means that every gas car can be converted into an ECO car for arround 1.500€
Porsche themselves said that synthetic fuels won't be replacing EVs. Synthetic fuels are meant to keep older cars on the road, not replace EVs. Synthetic fuels unfortunately won't fix the terrible efficiency figures.
I don't have anything against EVs, I'm just not in a hurry to get one. Also, they are rather expensive, I can't afford any of the interesting ones anyway. Maybe I'll get one after my next three or four RWD ICE cars.
Here in Latin America I don't think gas-powered cars will be banned, because they are very expensive and few people have them. There are more gas-powered cars than EV's. Maybe in the distant future. GAS CARS 4LIFE
I honestly think that here in Brazil combustion engines will survive due to hydrogen and ethanol. Sure, catalytic converters would be a major help for ethanol, but still realistically ok.
2nd world and 3rd world countries won't be switching to EV. Electric cars are more advantageous than ICE cars in areas where the electrical grid is highly developed in 1st world countries. The grid is already there, now you gotta build a crap ton of chargers
The main issue with electric cars is that they make it hyper simplistic in order to be "futuristic" even though you can just replace the engines in a mustang with electric motors and speakers and it'll achieve the same effect just way cooler

All the mach 1 needed was a $900 transmission. A 2018 tesla is going to need a $24,000 battery in a few months.

There is a little bit of hope, Porsche is making a fuel that is identical to gasoline but the production of it produced way less carbon, and the only part of it all that produces carbon are the emissions from the car. Combustion engines will live on!

Exactly this! It's totally mad to introduce new technology that is inferior to combustion technology. The range is poor, EV production is more polluting than combustion vehicles, we can't fully recycle their batteries, it's significantly more inflammable, more expensive to build/maintain, the source of energy to charge them up isn't clean either (No, solar panels and wind turbines are very polluting too) etc.
As someone who only got his license last Summer, and worked damn hard for it, I can't help feeling its truly worthless knowing that I might just have to spend the rest of my life around glorified microwaves on wheels.
EVs can be exciting... I think. It's just that nobody makes cool EVs. They all focus on higher range and boring stuff like that. Dodge is trying to do something. It's a whole dilemma for me. I love gas-powered cars, but we are ruining our planet by using them everyday and one day we won't have a planet to fix. But I can't just switch sides and give up what i love the most.
EVs aren't that great at protecting the environment. It will be decades before there is actual benefit and there is simply not enough lithium to make the number of batteries required for the whole world to go EV. Alternative/clean fuels and hydrogen are way more of a realistic and eco-friendly solution. It is probably going to catch on when some technological boundaries are broken because currently they can't be mass-produced but hey, a decade ago so were EVs so who knows what's coming next?

And there is something that no one tells, EVs still use gas, diesel or coal, because some of that cars have generator that use Gasoline, and most of the power plants Burn Coal(it is only the dirtiest fuel ever) or diesel(that is dirty too). Now, imagine, Gas and Diesel are being used on cars or trucks but is not too much as a Power plant uses, and at least on the vehicles it is easier to control How much you will burn and the smoke will not stay on just 1 area, and as we learned with the pandemy, it is better to have a an area with well-circulated air, which does not happen in power plants, because they are attached to the ground, but the vehicles are moving. In reality, both of they pollute, that is why Everyone needs to choice for itself, and do not oblige or pressure someone to have one or the other, as i said, if Everyone respects Everyone, nothing will go wrong.
