I bought an 01 B5 Passat for $550. It drove like crap, but I liked the style and plenty of aftermarket parts. Did the maintenance; wrong plugs, bad coils, filters disgusting. Found a bad MAF and O2 with a bad heater. Car runs great w232K on the clock. Have since replaced the full exhaust, badgeless grille, and projector headlights. This is my first German car, my dad was a VW/Porsche enthusiast for over 30 years, RIP. I see why he liked these cars so much. They are fun
Owned my pd130 b5.5 passat for 2 years. Its on budget coilovers and audi wheels with straight through and a remap. Its been all over the place getting parts for my e30. Been a wicked car. Mine will get 55mpg on motorway to !
Wow amazing modded car for the price, i have myself this passat its just universal instead of sedan. On my car i just tinted windows and installed a subwoofer + new head unit and already its much better
I bought my 2003 for 450 bucks. It's got 179k Miles. Only needed CV joints ,brake pads, n a camshaft position sensor. I've since made it a stage 2 + car with methanol injection.. Adjustable coilovers , slotted n drilled rotors. Only thing left to do is get some rims. Very fast. Sunk way to much into it. Would ran fine after initial fixed
I put my first modified car on FK’s and I was actually pleasantly surprised with them! Never had an issue, rode fairly well too considering they were pretty much all the way down!
With a Sport model you'll get a higher torque engine, 6 speed manual, lower suspension, better wheels and seats with better bolsters as well as an R32 steering wheel, that's what you want to go for, not a highline. Most German saloons in this era are prone to rust on both front wings. 2001 - 2003 had flat black bumper trims. Try to buy something with a water pump recently done and make sure there hasn't been water leaked into the passenger footwell CCM thru the pollen filter housing

I owned 1 and got a new 1 so got total 2 passat and less then 500 quid and my new one have 190 k defo cheap to insure and i am 17 both wagons DO NOT GO FOR THE HIGHLINE if your going for power the 5 speed gearboxed cant handel the power aswell due to the clutch get the sport as they are mutch less abused
@@seanh5648 Make sure the water passages around the pollen filter aren't blocked. That was my issue and all the drains were completely clear. This is what end up giving you alarm and central locking problems
Definitely if you're going for one then get the Sport like I have. Only upside to the highline is heated leather but I think those seats don't really hold you in well, and it's pretty easy to wire in some Audi seats anyway. Would rather do that than have to swap in a 6 speed and Sport ECU

£1500 for that ... hmm got my self a 08 E91 m sport with 177bhp stock for 2k and its a high spec with 145k miles and its had timing chain and clutch with flywheel all ready done with proof of that and £30 for a grill is normal as got my bm a M4 style black grills for that xD

I have the estate of this and I have done almost 250000 mikes and still going strong. Amazing economy and still pulls Like a train. Pd power .
Just bought a 2004 passat gls wagon with 340,000 miles! 1 owner car with no rust and zero problems. Cost 800 bucks

Would not say it has aged well haha they do look early 2000s. Good engine though, got it in my Fabia. Nippy and pretty reliable.
