Here's a festival survival tip: If it's dark outside and you step into a PortaPotty, make sure you turn off your flashlight before you get down to business. Otherwise, you run the risk of creating some particularly unpleasant shadow puppets and likely becoming the subject of somebody's lifelong concert memory. Just trust your old uncle Mikey on this one.

When I was younger I enjoyed mosh pits because most people were respectful. The ones that were the worst were the jarheads (marines, army, US military) who were there to hurt people. They didn't get it. Kurt wrote "In Bloom" about these types.
I went to a 5FDP concert in this tiny building. The press area fence was only like 5 feet from the stage and this really small guy kept crowd surfing. Well the crowd finally decided that when he came back over they would throw him as hard as they could to get him on the stage. He actually managed to get there on like the 4th try and Zoltan grabbed him to keep him falling backwards. he very politely just left the stage cheering behind the band and a bouncer pulled him aside and he didn't crowd surf again. They had to stop a few people from crowd surfing they weren't trying to get on stage but it was getting to be to much.
