The impossible rise and fall of Alpha Condé

- Conde likened himself to Mandela and Obama later calling himself Guineas Mandela. Before coming to power in 2010, He had been through a lot from exile in France for years, to being sentenced to death in 1970 and even enduring two and half years in prison.
So what changed? Why did Conde change from a promising Guinean leader to a tyrant? Why was he overthrown, why did the coup succeed and how will he be remembered? This is the Rise and tragic Downfall of Alpha Conde.
Stumbled on this channel, and I've been binging since. Finally,African stories told by Africans. I'd like to see Muammar Gaddafi's story. Lots to learn
Another excellent video. This channel has the potential to get even bigger, as there are few out there who can provide an authentic narrative of African political history, which is full of intrigue and can be interesting to a wider audience. Conde is just another in the line of past and present African rulers (I won't use the word 'leaders') who become villains when they get the chance to make things better. Sadly, the coup may not improve living standards for Guineans and will simply introduce another tyrant.
Exactly my brother, the fact that all African leaders, whether democratically elected or not, follow the same political ploy of plundering resources while the rest of the population lives in destitution, famine and threatens any opponent with death as his predecessors did, really saddens me.
Great video! Thank you for your commitment to bringing us Africa's stories from a home-grown perspective. Looking forward to more
keep up the great work bro... You're doing us justice by educating the masses
Every video you make gets better and better! Thank you for making these
Wow, thank you!
I am a Jamaican living in England but I love you videos excellent work.
I want to wish Guineans all the best for their future. I hope their country prosper under new regime.
Keep it. This is my best channel on African politiks/history
Thanks for sharing, that's a shame for our leaders. 83 years old was supposed to be a mentor for the younger generation instead of fighting for power.
Thank you brother for always giving us good educative content
Great video as always, fair and accurate reporting.
There's little hope the coup changes much for the citizens of Guinean tho, the new regime is as much if not more corrupt than the last one.
What needs to happen is democratic reform, not military coups... Back to square one.
Thank you.✨🇰🇪
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for sharing this beautiful documentary on Guinea 🇬🇳 and I understand it very clearly and I say a big thanks to the producers for job well done 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video. I've learned much about Alpha Konde. I would advise you look at the DRC side, where the actual president the son of the historical opposition leader E Tshisekedi is by all evidence failing to live to the hype of his family name. Another idea, what would be the odds of T Obiang Ngwema Jr to hold on to power after his father's time? I don't see him last 5 years. I see him negociate his departure to live a playboy life in a tropical island.😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅
Great content! May you also do a documentary on the rise and fall of Robert Mugabe please.
Robert Mugabe did not fall, he just got old.
There is a saying in South Africa .
"There is no one like him ( Mandela) "
RIP father of South Africa
I love these videos, I'm pretty ignorant about African affairs unless it has to do with the British Empire but I'm no authority on anything.
Your reviews are amazing 👍
Continue with the good work!... So educational!
Thank you
Thanks so much for the news brother God is with us guinea 🇬🇳
Very excellent reporting... its a very sad story but you presented extremely well
Glad you enjoyed it
very educative , a summarized history lesson on guinea . The question is whats next for guinea and for how long will they continue on this path o coups
Great content. Fazir I feel your voice.
Gaddafi of Libya, Konde of guinea, Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Kenyatta Of Kenya, Kamuzu Banda of Malawi, Kabila of Congo, Museveni of Uganda, Kwame of Ghana started as socialist liberators but ended up as dictators. Most leaned towards Marxist- Leninists philosophy. So what happened is the qn?
Very good question
I'dc what philosophy they lean on, corruption has no philosophies
@@figomacboy4779 they leaned on a socialist communist philosophy when the started
Wow your narration is on point
A show on life of jerry john rawlings plz. Also amazing job here
It pains my heart when people who don't know much and the actual fact about my country makes comments about it like they even live in the country. Alpha Conde knew what he and his colleagues had planned about Daddis that's exactly why he never wanted him to ever come back to Guinea to defend himself I mean if why would someone who has been accused of crime against humanity want to go back to the country is he is not innocent
Can you write a book of all this that can be read by generation to come
Condé was being criticised by everyone , close insiders even said he had gone mad with power,
Wonderful documentary thanks a lot admin
Glad you enjoyed it
One thing that has proven to be consistent in Africa (with a few notable outlier/exceptions) is that democracy as a form of government is wrong for us, we need to formulate our own form of Government. We can keep trying but it's like beating a dead horse. The story is usually the same, from the leaders that took over after the decolonization to the current crops of politicians that we have across all countries of the sub-saharan Africa, they all seem to appear clueless in properly governing a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and diverse people we have on this continent.
For me, most African countries have had some decent experience with democracy for us to know that it's just might be the wrong form of government for us. I don't have a good answer for what that kind of government may/might be (definitely not military), but I think it's about time we abandon the western styled democracy. Unless we enjoy beating around the bush and watch the rest of the world move on while they milk us for all they can get and leave us as devastated as they met us.
China's system maybe the answer
@@hollapraise7525
LOL
What about monarchy
@@hollapraise7525 HAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHA 😆
China elects a leader by example not empty promises like democracy does with e Ln elections
Am happy to have stumbled on a new video
If a man calls himself Mandela (unless that’s actually his name of course), you can tell he’s a egotist who thinks way too highly of himself. Seriously no man would be subtle if they call themselves possibly the greatest living being to ever walk the planet and trust me the actual Mandela would not call himself that.
The story and visuals are cohesive. Thanks!
Conde was removed for geopolitics and economic. he was in the Chinese camp and he had to go.
Dictatorships and dictators are never any good. The most loved and celebrated dictator in Africa at present is Paul Kagame. Never celebrate dictatorship. Its never any good.
It depends on what the dictator does if he’s brutal I agree don’t celebrate it but it’s still complex if some dictators are doing better for the country than regular presidents
Please make a video about colonel Gaddafi and his pan African dreams
Great informative video. Thanks for sharing knowledge.
Glad it was helpful!
The amnesia of African leaders.
The malaise of unbridled ambition and power drunkenness in human nature. Viva Negritude Banner.
thanks from kenya
Thanks for the info
This is good stuff.
Excellent video...
Thank you
Why are all these guys bleaching their skin? Mad people everywhere!
Low self esteem bro 🤦♂️🤦♂️
The same will happen to Akuffo Addo of Ghana
You would think for someone who lives in France for many years would have some common sense not trying to be a dictator, he created his own demise. He was nothing but a dictator and a loser. Guinea is not well served with the new colonel either he's there for the long run, he ain't giving up the power. He's nothing but an opportunist and a lackey for the French government.
how did east germany react to decolonasation?
In Chad company xx took more gentle approach at its weakest and most vulnerable moments of Chad it offered economic freedom and development in exchange for oil at first it seemed like fair trade but company xx snuck into the contract right underneath nose no matter law or the government’s opinion no one could change agreement not the future governments of chad how many third world countries have signed this contracts??? Look at Mobutu he used today company xx still operates in chad bleeding them dry and living them in poverty so a lot poor
Museveni is next to go.
great video, pls dont use that hairy ass "old" filter tough, pls
Noted
There has never been a peaceful protest in Guinea you people should stop saying that,, Guinea has never has a peaceful protest no

Don't leave this man alive bcz his gonna bring problem 😂😂😂
Nothing will come out of this he will also be a dictator
Go back to the drawing board and do a more comprehensive investigation about Guinea. You did get it at all
You guys need to work on your facts more and actually know the internal workings of the countries rather than just regurgitating and repeating the wrong info from outsiders that don't really know the country.
Why Africa leaders all ways want to rule for ever
Why do African mis leaders want to rule for ever..a very good question..Tragically,I think they see themselves as current kings emulating the great African kings who ruled for life I.e Shaka,Mansa Musa,Kabakas.Even their luxurious lifestyle & trying to be demi Gods mimics the former African kings.but they forget the kings had a social contract with his citizens and held all kingdoms wealth land, cows etc in trust.what Africa needs is a one term tenure for any leader which if extended, will be seemed as treasonable!
Thanks your narration,l is very clear and concise.keep up the great work!
Since power is a position where you not literally working hard to earn a living . Infact as long as you’re in power your the central bank , the god etc . Imo power ain’t for the weak poor hearted if its to be democratic ✌️ Africa gotta go back to the original Godly settings of natural leaders (not voted for) rather than so called-rulers
Intelligence research bro

“Guinea’s Mandela” goes for an unconstitutional third term while Mandela decides not to run for a constitutional second term.
I want any Africa leader that stays in power over 5-8years should be ousted
Thus I was celebrating my birthday when I got a tweet about Conde been ousted 🤏🤦
