What file type (extension) is the database file? maybe i can find it by searching for the file extension

That means you were selecting the wrong folder- it will only open if its the proper folder.

so, this assumes one has made a project library to lose before hand. I'm new to Davinci and video editing in general.
backup restoration is unchecked by default -.-, anyways it doesnt work if you havent created a library in the first place. Like mine is a default local database in which i can do nothing.
my problem: worked on a video editing project. saved multiple times throughout, out of fear of losing it of course. once I was happy i delivered and exported the video. the video came out way too laggy so I wanted to revisit the project, and you know what! it's gone.
its not in my project manager or (default) project database, no back-ups made as that was the moment i learned that making backups is F*KING unchecked by default.
if anyone has any workable ideas for me please let me know! in the meantime, i'm diving in to re-do a full days of work -.-
