Wrong!
Many people have seen improvements in hair regrowth by shifting to an #animalbased or #carnivore diet. As you'll see in this highlight snippet from my podcast with Robert English, the proof is in the pudding!

I’ve been doing a slow transition into carnivore, have yet to eat organs, mostly just eggs, chicken, beef and pork. I was experiencing typical male pattern baldness style hair loss. I’ve been doing this transition over the past 2-3 weeks and I have already noted a significant amount of baby hairs coming in. Prior to starting this diet, I was using topical finasteride but I ran out of my last bottle about 2 months ago. So this has been very encouraging and I’m excited to keep going. I also struggled with seborrheic dermatitis and that too has improved significantly.
Hey mate, did you get any sides from topical fin? Was it mixed with min
@@jamesjohnson8316 no side effects! Research studies suggest topical finasteride come with minimal virtually no side effects for most people. I used the HIMS brand and I’m sure it was mixed with some sort of mineral oil or purified water or saline.

yeah. my hair stopped falling out after 3months of being on carnivore diet. hair would fall out drastically everytime i would shower and comb it. NOW NO HAIR FALLS OUT!! i been experimenting with different foods to see what causes my hair to fall out. the big one for me was ICE CREAM!! all the sugar and crap in ice cream made my hair fall out.
How do you wash your hair? Do you use conditioner and shampoo? How often?
Interesting.
Weight loss causes hair loss and absolutely any kind of Stress
Ice cream contains a ton of AGE’s which age you quicker
probably true :)
-my skin looks better
-my fingernails grow like crazy (over a MM per week it seems)
-i have more energy
-i have more endurance
-im calmer
-more sex drive
-even raw egg, (at up to half a dozen per day) mixed with some milk, is not causing any issues
etc
I'm female, didn't have balding per se except for some thinning at the temples, but 2 years ago my hair was almost entirely gray. Since starting keto (2 years ago) & then eventually leaning more heavily into carnivore, I've seen my gray hair gradually return to brunette - I only have a few strands of gray left in front around my face. 🦳➡️🦱
Me too. Isn't it great?
@@iss8504 It is the most awesome-est thing ever! And I wish I could use it as a selling point for keto/carnivore, but people don't believe me 🤣🤣🤣
@@kimartist oh I know..they think you're a nut. Too bad. Literally their loss our gain.
😲 wow!! who would believe
Iron or zinc or maybe copper.
I started going gray my senior year of high school. I do not have a strict carnivore or strict keto anything diet. I eat balanced and occasionally I eat foods I shouldn’t eat. I’m completely gray at 45. The past year, when I concentrate on low to no carbs, I’ve noticed my hair showing color.
Ive seen some boxer who has gray hair completely and hes in his 20s. I think its kinda cool.
Start taking He Shou Wu in tincture form. Its cheaper if you make it on your own. It reverses hair greying in a matter of months.
I dropped 50 lbs. when I stopped eating sugary foods or wheat.
I've been on carnivore for only 30 days and I swear my hair is growing back.
What is the point having doctor Paul on your show if you won't let him talk? A great interview is one where the light is shining on your guest.... stop the yakking Jesus.... 😫😫
Right???
F, keto 6 months, no significant hair change, graduating to carnivore. 3 months into carnivore, I noticed new baby hairs growing along my hairline, 6 months carnivore, the hair health has change significantly.. my thinning part has filled in significantly to the point others have noticed my hair health. I too have also seen a change in my hair strainds that were graying changing to show a darker pigment coming from roots, I will track it over the next while of regrowth but it does appear to be restoring some natural brunette pigment. It's one of the many NSV I've seen on carnivore! (95% carnivore diet and feeling great)
How's the progress now?
@Simplatory still going great 👍
@@KTsStory3517 Some people say carnivore makes their hair loss worse. I think that's in males susceptible to hair loss. Are you male?
@Simplatory my hair may have started to fall more when I went from standard diet to keto but I also had a lot of stress back at that time, so not sure what caused the loss then but I do know it was quite thin and weak, but now is so much thicker and stronger, my regrowth now is incredibly healthy. All the thin parts are now unnoticeable. My hairline is better than it was a few years ago. I'm 51.
@@simplatory802those people that say that always have other factors that play into their hair loss
was really looking forward to hear paul jump in the conversation...
It does makes sense.. You turn off a lot of inflammation by reducing the amouunt of sugar you take. My guees is that It reduces insulin and cholesterol, which means the diet somehow affects the pathways for the production of steroidal hormones, including testosterone and its derivated DHT.
Could be because low carb slashes DHT levels
Appreciate the podcasts. Could you bring in a sping allergy specialist? Mine is better with fasting/meat based diet but still somethings missing.
So, before the scalp was clear, and after, it's blurry?
I hate it when that happens......
The sun ☀️ is a big contributor to hair health. It can’t be all diet
didn't hear about Hippocrates of Kos!
You mean vitamin D deficiency?
@@rickknight3823 yes and no. Because foods and supplements with vitamin D are no replacement for the sun
@@Karll541 I kinda agree with you.. but it's almost impossible to do that living north of the equator..
I often thought going bald on top was a sign the body's was deficient in D and so by exposing skin directly in the sun - the deficiency is recovered.
Maybe not in every case, but I feel it definitely has some link.
Are you also against vitamin D3 and K2?
@@rickknight3823 I’m not against it. I don’t think there is any viable substitute for the sun. Simple
I think it can on two fronts - 1, because SHBG goes through the roof on CD, so your test can’t act on the receptors in your follicles and 2, inflammation is down to zero on CD, another factor in miniaturisation. The downside of high shbg though, is my libido is decimated & my free test is on the floor. Is there a sweet spot where we can get all the benefits without the sexual & hormonal side effects of Carnivore diet?
I had similar issues on CD. No sex drive whatsoever. I found the key is to balance cortisol and insulin. Insulin lowers SHBG and is the rate limiting factor in the production of Cholesterol, which by proxy, controls all sex hormones. I fixed with this:
1. Up protein to fat ratio
2. Fast less
3. Introduce fruits/honey
4. Eat early in day
Diet is not the only factor in response to your libido question. My libido is wildly higher on an all meat diet and I prioritize all other aspects of health as well. Libido is intimately connected to our rest and circadian rhythm. It’s likely stress in other parts of your life are out of balance. The body will always prioritize vital organs and glands over reproduction, hence the lack of drive. Diet is critical, but it’s only 50% of the story.
Heard about this a lot. SHBG dropped on CD. I have been doing CD for 17 months, did blood work last week. Test upper 900s shbg LOW free test 43...
Ldl high, hdl normal. Tris normal.
@@TdotJohn how many grams of carbs/sugar did you introduce ?
I've often wondered about this, too. If we presume the anecdotes of hair regrowth from the carnivore diet to be true, which mechanisms might explain them? In the podcast, we focused our discussion on a hypothesis surrounding inflammation reduction, DHT excretion / recirculation, and gut microflora changes from a carnivore diet. But I've also heard anecdotes of people going carnivore, feeling amazing, and then doing lab work only to discover lower-than-expected levels of testosterone, DHT, and free testosterone (alongside high SHBG). I believe Karnivore Kurt and Shawn Baker have demonstrated this in some lab work. So, another line of mechanistic reasoning is that a carnivore diet could drive down overall testosterone production (and thereby DHT levels), without making someone symptomatic of low T.
Just to reiterate from the full clip of the podcast - I don't want anyone watching this to confuse our mechanistic speculation as an endorsement for (or against) any dietary intervention for the treatment of pattern hair loss. There's certainly a lot we don't know, and I remain open to the idea that the carnivore diet might actually help with AGA. But for now, I would consider discussions here as a fun thought experiment rather than a first-line treatment for hair loss. But I am super excited to see where this research goes.
Carnivore had helped my husbands hair ot was thinning know it's full
How long it it take to start showing?
Were there any changes in Libido?
My hair was thinning extensively as I moved from Keto to Carnivore. Five months on carnivore and I have TREMENDOUS new growth of hair all over my head. It's quite amazing and I feel like I might be the new Chia Pet! lol
Hi guys, I can confirm.. My hairs have been thinned out in the last 3 years. I started the carnivore diet more than one week ago and I can see the difference. They are thicker, more elastic and soft and I can feel it with my hand. The cause is primarily because of a protein deficiency, keratin to be more specific. Apart meat there are some vegetables with keratin, but the problem is that who don't eat meat everyday would not get everyday and enough keratin from food.. I'm more than sure that in my case is about proteins, cause I never eaten well in my last years.. maybe for my last 10 years
💩💩💩💩
That's exactly right. My story is pretty much the same. My hair started thinning when my diet went to crap. It's no coincidence it remedied itself when I started eating meat every day and cut out all rubbish food.
Oh man, I too have been eating poorly for years. I have curly hair, in recent years I have seen how it has been thinning and I have lost a little hairline. Due to the economy of my country it is difficult to be able to eat meat and eggs every day. But I noticed that every time I could maintain a daily protein intake, my hair improved.
I will try to maintain my daily protein intake as long as I have enough money haha.
Stay strong. Eat well, eat meat.
I have been shaving my head for 10 years. Carnivore for 2 and a half months. It feels like I have more growth in the areas that are normally super thin but I'm not patient enough to let it fully grow out to see what it looks like longer
Still on carnivore?
I didnt Start carnivore for this but i Have noticed darker hair regrowth then my natural color and about 80-90% grey loss and dark color has returned very interesting im 3 months in carnivore eating beef eggs and hallloumi cheese
How is things ?
That guy Sv3ridge has been raw meat forever and has lost most of his hair.
Not sure much would change it diet wise.
Could be more of a digestive problem?
If your body's not getting the nutrients,
it doesn't matter what you eat.
@@fruitjuice5672 Ya, eats it all. I'm not sure there is any way to overcome the natural male baldness, or at least do it healthily.
@@kimartist it seems to be very genetic too
@@fruitjuice5672 Great commentary. As the guest of this podcast episode, I want to reiterate that we are going deep into speculative territory in this part of the conversation (90 minutes in). We are assuming, “If these anecdotes of hair regrowth from the carnivore diet are true, what might be some mechanisms to explain them?” It’s a useful and fun exercise, but the conversation is by no means an endorsement of the carnivore diet for the treatment of hair loss. That’s not to say it won’t help, either! We just don’t know. In any case, there are obviously better-studied interventions out there that should act as someone’s first-line defense for thinning hair.
@@jrs3012 Ya, but his genetic balding never stopped.
Been carnivore for Two years, I’m 57 my hair was thin/receding and grey I’m now almost brown all over and hair is ridiculously long and thick, I’ve also been using MSM supplements and biotin
What is MSM PLEASE
Methyl sulfonol methane
This is pure logick , male hairlos is a reaction to inflamation because of an alergy to dht, the carnivore remove some og the inflamation in the hair scalp and there fore the hair get better blood flow and the nutrients from animal protein fatts and colagen.. i was looking for a video about this , and this video confirnes my hypofises, and it is now a theory 😂 finasterid will only stop hairloss and bring some back from living hair folices .. using finasterid 3-4 tomes a week and oral and topical rogain will bring the living hair back . The dead gair is gone for good , and that is why people that has been bald for a feew years will not get much vack i. The most effected spotts on the scalp 👍🤓
that or DHT is our body's medicine that surges to protect us (e.g. our hair follicles) from inflammation.
Can you have a friendly debate with Dr. Garrett Smith regarding vitamin A toxicity?

Why is it in all the hair regrowth videos I've watched that the "lighting differences" always benefit the "after" photos? Seems fishy to me. Why not take the photos in the same room, same time of day, with the same lighting? I have yet to see one that shows the warmer or darker surround of the photo in the before shot. "Just sayiin" We all hope for the magic bullet, but we do want a true comparison.
Exactly mate. It's just bs after bs.
My personal opinion is that when you first start taking notice and pictures..it's a depressing thing and your not all hyped up ...however once you actually see progress you tend to put more effort into documenting progress. I've been taking progress pics for 10 years for my body composition, in the early stages it was not flattering for me to take pic's as I saw positive change I put more effort into pictures...just my 2 cents.
So many spam comments saying it worked and it worked almost instantly in 3 months. What a joke
Right, and even not having washed hair recently and just having washed hair can make it look different.
Okay, is he ever going to answer?…..

I had no luck with finestride or monoxidill. Not sure what these massages are. I've tried everything and nothing worked. I've been on carnivore 6 weeks. If it helps cool but why I'm doing it but maybe it's a bonus.
Any new results?
I would say it's a little thicker and not falling out. The hair cycles are more normal. But as for growing back nothing yet I started back on hair supplement vitamins and a rosemary mix similar to what was mentioned. I'll take some time and see what happens.

I started carnivore about a month ago, transitioning from keto, the only thing I haven’t added yet is organs. My hair has just started falling out in alarming amounts the past couple weeks and I’m really upset and scared at the quickness it’s happening. Is it oxalates dumping? I’m really distressed
I experienced the same thing after switching from the SAD diet. I lost about 30 lb in the first month, so that could have something to do with it. I upped my calories and fat intake and after a few months my head was full of baby hairs like wife's during pregnancy.
Carnivore can be stressful and the stress causes hair to fall out. It’s surprising to see this video claim otherwise.
I think a good thing to never skip out on is all the fats on the meat. Make sure to eat those there’s a ton of collagen in them and that will help with hair growth and strength! Plus it’s great for your skin
You are not eating enough fat. High protein low fat you are basically back to the standard american low fat diet.
I’m still losing hair too 😢

@@ACDnut101 I'm sorry that happened to you! Lots of things can go wrong nutritionally - digestion can be poor, minerals can be deficient, etc. Dry skin & hair loss are classic symptoms of iodine deficiency, btw.
