@JoesGarageProductionsLLC I too am in Florida! My water heater just started leaking so I ordered one of these to replace it. Ive been watching these vids to learn what to expect when i diy my instelation. One thing I haven't heard anyone mention on these videos is the tax rebate. From what i gather, you get a 30% rebate up to $2k for a hybrid water heater as long as it costs more than $1.5k.
Factor that into the savings from the drop in electric bill!

Yep very good point. I installed one for myself last year and did just that!

@@JoesGarageProductionsLLC how come you don't wrap the copper line in a wet rag? I was watching you melt the solder joints close to the wall... Aren't you concerned that the heat will transfer further down the line to another solder joint,?

@@tykeorama9898 I generally only wrap ball valves with a wet rag, and sometimes I don't bother. As long as you get in with the heat and get out quickly, you should be fine. If you are sweating close to a wall, best to have a fire extinguisher at the ready just in case... Never know what is in that wall.

@@JoesGarageProductionsLLC thanks for the tip! I don't have much experience in any of this but the rate the home depot "specialists" are charging, there's no way I'm not going to get it done myself!
Also, I was watching another vid and a comment caught my eye. A guy said he was an authorized service engineer for rheem repair. He suggested removing the screws along the back of the cover and tank before installing. He said the warranty covers parts replacement and labor to do it, but it doesn't cover disconnecting the whole thing and moving it to get at the screws.
Another installer video showed taking the lid off the compressor... He had to straighten the fins and fix the hose insulation because the manufacturer did a poor job.

PLEASE tell me what kind of ULTRASONIC CLEANER that you use in your GX200 pressure washer video where you clean the carb. Great channel I love your content.

It has actually been discontinued. It was a cheapie that I paid about $100 for on Amazon several years ago. The heating element died within the first couple months and the power switch broke a couple of months ago, but it works just fine still. It has saved me thousands of dollars on replacement carbs! I am thinking about upgrading to a larger unit and getting rid of my mineral spirits parts washer tank to reclaim some space

I believe Pex goes in the wall or underground only because UV breaks down all plastics #pfas

Don’t you need to vent the cold air from the heat pump outlet to the outside?❤

Nope! I live in South FL. There is no shortage of warm air in the garage, and if the garage gets too cool, it will turn on the backup heating elements. This water heater has dropped my electric bill by $30+/mo!!! Absolutely love it - plus, it cools my garage! As long as it stands the test of time, I am sold!

How loud is it? I have been hearing a lot of complaints about units built 2022 and later.

About 60 dBA @ 3 feet. Much louder than the earlier version.

It is in my 2 car garage. I can hear it when it runs, but I don't find it annoying or disturbing. I definitely would not put it anywhere where you expect or want silence - like a bedroom, living/TV room, etc.
