This hits the nail on the head. If I had a dime for every Lordshipper/legalist who got offended when I told them that we are to look unto Christ and live, and that we are saved by placing our trust in Christ alone and His finished work alone, they immediately attack me saying "I just want a license to sin".
The preaching of the cross is foolishness to them that perish indeed. (They think the preaching of the cross is their cross, not Jesus' cross.)

If a person can lose their salvation, they can never ever say that they know they are saved. Because if you can do something that can cancel out your salvation today (or next week, or next year), then at best you can say is "I know I am saved right now." But what you can never say is, "I know I have eternal life."

You need some prayer, and maybe even deliverance in these days. Satan is roaring and imitating Christ, but we who KNOW Christ know the difference. It's clear that you don't know the correct interpretation of any of your verses as you are using them in the wrong context. ALL of them.

Thank you also for exposing Jimmy Swaggart's biggest stumbling block - their teaching that you can lose salvation. I used to follow him regularly but after discovering he denies Eternal Security, stopped. They are stubborn and refuse to listen to anyone who tries to correct them. Amazing how someone so popular, so blessed by the Lord (?) can even THINK we can lose our salvation. I hope the Lord opens his eyes.
Jimmy Swaggart is the last person on this earth to talk about the Gospel of Grace being a "damnable doctrine", when he's the chief of hypocrites.
I remember him teaching hellfire and brimstone full tilt right up to the moment he got busted. The funny thing about it, is he didn't just do it once either. He got caught doing it again after getting outed in 1987.
He was looked at like a "superstar" by the Pentecostals back then. Now he's all but forgotten by the younger generation.
He only got caught twice. In sure there were countless other times in which he got away with it.
He still does teach that, but if you look closely you'll notice his ministry is almost cult-like in their practices. For example when a member of the staff leaves, they don't always say so. (This is only speculation, but I wonder if some of them left because they disagreed with some of their teachings, and were either told to go or left on their own?) I remember musicians like Roy Chacon on their worship team along with his daughter, for a few years and then next thing you know...they're not there and haven't been in years. No mention why either.
But when one of their other members left (I can't remember if it was Kim Coleman or Donna Carliine), they came out and said so, & wished her well.
And what happened to Jim Woolsey, one of their pastors? You hear nothing about him now and he hasn't been there in months. So based on these things, I personally get the feeling that when you question JSM, you are let go and shunned. Either that, or if someone chooses to leave without JSM's blessing, they treat you as if you didn't exist.
He & his staff have been discussing "conditional security" more and more. Seems like almost regularly I could tune into Frances & Friends, and someone calls or emails about Eternal Security they're quick to say it's false. The late Johnny Lee Clary said once "I used to believe in OSAS but since I've been here I found out it was a lie. I renounced it and I'm glad I did." What a shock!
They also teach that if you deliberately sin you will lose your salvation. They will tell you in one breath Jesus paid for ALL your sins, past present & future then in the next say if you don't abide in the faith or deliberately sin, you've lost your salvation. Yet I have seen Jimmy and Donnie preaching and say during a message "I'm just gonna come out and say it, I'll repent later" (supposedly) jokingly and call people names, demand you tithe more often, etc. So does that mean they've lost their salvation too, or is it only those who aren't in their ministry who are saved?
A real shame to see such a large "network" like JSM's (aka SonLife Broadcasting) teaching such things and leading millions into doubt and fear. Stay away from them!

Can "YOU" lose salvation ? Well if somebody like Jimmy swaggert says yes then that shows they believe in lord ship salvation and being saved by works if they believe "YOU" can lose it. Amen. I spoke to a believer last night who used to believe once saved always saved but he said he doesn't anymore because there are "too many passages that say otherwise" or something like that. My heart immediately got heavy and I could feel fear trying to seize me. (I used to be a lordship salvationist. First believed the gospel when I was 6 but then kept hearing false teachings as I grew up and it caused me so much torment.) My eyes were opened to the simplicity of the gospel in 2015 and I experienced joy and peace, and I didn't fear where I was going when I died. I went from wanting to serve the Lord out of fear to wanting to serve Him out of love. After about 3 months of walking in joy and peace, the false doctrines chased me and caused a lot of doubt. Passages of scripture that _seemed_ to say one could lose salvation terrified me. (I'm sure it's because so many have taken other passages and twisted them to suit their false doctrine). Anyway, your comment reminded me that scripture says we are born again, not again and again and again and again. We have one flesh birth and one spiritual birth. You're either born again or you're not. I know there are many passages that teach everlasting life is forever once a person believes the gospel of Jesus Christ. Certain people who have been misled will twist scripture and deny it means what it says. For example, Romans 8:38-39
38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our LORD.
They'll say "nor any other creature" doesn't include yourself because we have free will. So, they're saying that nothing EXCEPT yourself can separate you "from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our LORD." Or they'll say it's true no one/nothing can snatch you out of God's hand except yourself. It's frustrating because it's like they just don't take God's word as it says. They make it so difficult and scare people by saying, "that's not really what it means".

However there will be no boasting in heaven. They are certainly woefully ignorant about the twofold nature of the born-again believer. Simply because Christ is not going to come back and die again and again and again every time you commit a future sin. Of all the eternal security sermons I have heard over the years, I have never heard anyone mention John 6: 64 & 65. The very reason Jesus said nobody can come to Him unless the Father draws him is because He knew who did not believe! When I point that out to a Calvinist, they completely ignore it, like they do other scripture verses that contradict their false doctrine. Thank you, Yankee, for pointing out the rest of the words Jesus spoke concerning who is drawn to Him by the Father! If you believe, God WILL draw you to Christ. The problem is that few believe the true Gospel of salvation by faith in Christ alone! Most are still trying to earn or merit their way to heaven. Or, trying to prove they are good enough or worthy enough. What a blatant contradiction to the promise of God that is. If they believe their works have any merit whatsoever, they will surely hear the Lord say, "Depart from me for I never knew you." Stop believing a false gospel and believe the TRUE Gospel!

Free gift of salvation! Is it free if you have to earn it? Is it free if you have to pay for it? Is it free if you do something wrong and you lose it? It's free because Jesus paid the price for us? YES..salvation is freely given to those who ask and receive the free gift by faith. It is free and no man can pluck those out of His hand, not even I can pluck myself out of His hand. The dead spirit inside of me was born again to eternal security, my dead spirit I was born with now has been merged and sealed with the power of the Holy Spirit and I am forever sealed by Him to be with Him forever and I now have access to the throne of the Father because of what Jesus did! He paid the price and He that knew NO sin took my sin on the cross! Praise the Lord it is finished! Salvation is secure through Jesus, ALL Glory to Jesus and now that I belong to Jesus and not the world...not to satan because Jesus loved me FIRST, I love Jesus and I have the choice to allow my faith to be seen by the world as ALIVE and not DEAD. Good works are produced by yeilding to the Holy Spirit guidance in me and through His word and even when i make the mistake of yeilding to the flesh because I am still living in the flesh, Praise the Lord my dead spirit that died when sin entered into the world is ALIVE and sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption! I trust Jesus not myself, i trust Jesus ALL GLORY TO GOD!

I love a preacher who preaches with such certainty. You can tell he believes the message he preaches. His teachings are so clear and non confusing. Which is why I believe what he preaches because God is not the the author of confusion. Anyone who teaches our works for salvation, have to take slot of scriptures out of context and also make God contradict himself at the same time. They tend to forget OUR righteousness is like filthy rags and can help us in no way. We need HIS righteousness! That’s the only thing that will suffice to God the Father. It truly is by grace alone that we’re saved through faith alone in Messiah alone. Thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. What hope do we have if we reject such a great salvation? None!

Of course that verse is true. It is in the Bible. The question to ask is, "Deny us what?" Salvation? NO! You read that into the verse. Read 2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. (THIS IS A PROMISE TO THOSE WHO HAD THEIR FAITH OVERTHROWN) And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. WHY DIDN'T YOU READ THIS VERSE? 2Ti 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
@@YankeeArnoldMinistries Thank you for the answer and I agree with you on quite many teachings, especially regarding the lordship salvation false doctrine, but there are far too many words in the Scriptures that tell about apostasy, about turning away from the faith and about denying Christ that we cannot ignore them.
Yes, it's quite possible to be unfaithful, but if we deny Christ, He will deny us. And please note that "us" means christians in the context. If we Christians deny the Christ, we will lose the salvation, because we lose the Christ.
Luther, Wesley and other non-calvinist protestant teachers accept possibility to lose the salvation. And early Church considered apostate those whom under persecution denied Christ.
For me this highlights the importance of the faith and when I know that I have faith on Christ, I can be guaranteed I'm saved. I need nothing else, but put my faith in Christ Jesus.

If you can become a christian by start believing the Gospel, you can stop believing and lose the faith.
Calvinist insist that salvation comes forced, by an act of God without any possibility to accept or reject the Gospel, but that's not true. Likewise, as simple as you believed the Gospel, you may reject it.
Is you becoming a christian dependant on your ability? Yes, you can believe the Gospel. Is you turn away from Christ dependant on your ability? YUes, you can stop believing, thus the apostle exhorts to continue in the faith and not moved away.
Obviously, if you have made up your mind, it doesn't help if I show you all the warnings about apostasy, losing the faith and turning away from the Gospel, but I'm sure you won't listen to me, but yes it's possible to turn away from the faith and that's not God's doing!

There are similarities between the Gospel Jesus gave to Peter, James, and John and the Gospel that was revealed to Paul, but there in fact are some differences. Both have eternal security. There is no dispute there. But you really have to not want to see the differences because they are made very clear.

There are no such commands to follow Peter, James, or John in the Bible. Why? Paul is “the apostle to the Gentiles” (Romans 11:13; Romans 15:16; 2 Timothy 1:11; Galatians 2:7-9). Peter, James, and John were apostles to the lost sheep of Israel (Matthew 10:5-7; Matthew 19:27,28; Galatians 2:9).
When Jews asked the Apostle Peter, “What must we do to be saved?,” notice Peter’s answer:
*_“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts _**_2:38_**_; cf. Acts _**_3:19_**_)._*
When the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas, “What must I do to be saved?,” notice what Paul and Silas declared:
*_“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”_* (Acts 16:31). Paul did not preach water baptism. Paul baptized people into the name of Jesus and they received the holy spirit. (See Acts 19:1-6)
Obviously, these are not the same message. Peter told people to repent and then get water baptized, so they could receive forgiveness of sins and receive the Holy Spirit.
Paul taught salvation comes by “believing on the Lord Jesus Christ,” without water baptism. Repentance under Paul's Gospel is the act of believing.
The resurrected and glorified Jesus revealed to Paul alone the “revelation of the mystery” (Romans 16:25; Galatians 1:11-18; Ephesians 3:1-11; Colossians 1:25-26).
Peter, James, and John did not receive the "SACRED MYSTERY” from Jesus, but rather, they received it from Paul.
Read what the Apostle Peter wrote toward the end of his life:

Peter states he did not understand all of Paul's writings and teachings. The reason is that Jesus selected Peter as an apostle to the lost sheep of Israel (Matthew 10:5-7; Galatians 2:9). Peter did not need to understand Paul’s doctrine, because Peter preached the Gospel of the Kingdom to the Jews.
The Gospel of Grace is exclusive to Paul’s ministry. Paul's Gospel is not the same as the Gospel of the Kingdom that Peter and the disciples preached to the Jews.
The distinctions between the two gospels are so obvious that anyone who does not see it does not want to see it. The verses are in plain English, and no seminary degree is necessary. If one disagrees with any of these verses cited above, he or she is denying God’s Word and arguing against Almighty God .

Paul taught them the Gospel that Jesus Christ had committed to his trust (a Gospel message Jesus had NOT committed to James, Peter, and John). Paul and Peter preached two different Gospels.
The two different gospels are not contradictory when they are applied to the two distinct groups they are meant for: Israel and the Church. They are only contradictory when people try to apply both Gospels to the Church which ends up causing divisions among believers.

I agree with you, but Jesus in luke 18 he did preach to the apostles the death burrial and ressurection but the apostles did not understandbecause it was hid from them. Jesus chose Peter to open the gates of heaven to the gentiles, first in the dream of the unclean animals on the sheet and then with Cornelius and his band being saved by believing Acts 10 and 11.

BUT Who are the wise virgins who go to the marriage of the lamb with JESUS, and who are the foolish virgins, and who are the people who are gathered by the servants who go to the marriage supper. A marriage always preceeds the supper. Also does Jesus marry his own body in whom he is the head. All marriage in scripture is between a man and a woman. Do we have eternal security? most definitely. In that we are in complete agreement. But is the church the virgins, I have questions.

That chapter was about false prophets, and concerning Preachers, etc. If you don't read everything in context, you can make the Bible say whatever you want it to, to whoever you want it to. To get an understanding of God's Word you have to take CONTEXT into account and know who is being spoken to. You have to rightly divide. When you depend on your works instead of His death on the Cross, its the same as denying Him and its trampling the Son of God underfoot. If it depends on works, care to tell me why Jesus had to die on the Cross? Matt 7:21-23 is about religious men who put faith in their works instead of Jesus. He said He NEVER knew them. You're putting faith in yourself instead of Jesus, so the whole point of Him coming down and dying on the Cross is rejected and I don't think He will be too happy about that. Good works comes from having the Holy Spirit and your walk with God but you cannot earn your salvation. I was entrenched in the works doctrine my whole life. I prayed for truth for 7 months, I read the Bible hours everyday, He finally revealed it to me a couple of weeks ago. Now I understand clearly and my eyes have been opened. I can't unsee it. Calvinists essentially teach 'perspiration of the saints'. If you don't work to persevere to the end in good works, you were never really saved.
@Oswald Cobblepot, I disagree with your estimation of those who are not abiding as those who were never saved. Jesus is talking to His disciples who He said in verse 3 were "clean by the word". They were saved believers. But not every believer continues their walk with God, and some can even forget their sins were purged (2 Peter 1:9). Jesus is teaching His disciples after He's gone, they will need to continue in the knowledge of Him. To "abide" in His teaching of life eternal. Paul taches the same in Galatians 5 and Colossians 1, and Peter as well in 2 Peter 1. Every believer must continually abide in the truth of the gospel (part of walking in the Spirit) in order to "bear fruit".
John 15:6 isn't speaking of hellfire because it says "men cast them into the fire". No man will cast another in the lake of fire, God will handle that. I believe this is speaking of a loss of testimony. If we live worldly lives as Christians, people just disregard our claim of Christianity.

You're deceptively mixing apples with oranges. Jesus taught that only the parts dealing with the moral law from the "Law of Moses" are still applicable (as opposed to ceremonial, ritual, or civil laws). And Christians are still required to obey those moral based laws to gain eternal life. Those non-applicable WORKS are what Paul is referring to in Ephesians 2:8-9

The will of the Father is to believe and all those who believe are saved, they will have life everlasting, what does that mean?
Humans have the innate tendency to want to know in order to avoid trust. 'Believing', Biblically, refers to Trust/Faith not the assurance of knowing. A Christian is saved by Faith alone. The surefire way for a person to reveal the deceit of the human heart is to state "I believe in/on Jesus Christ". If a person does not understand what I have just said then that person does not understand what Christianity means.

The Lord however does not change our flesh nature which is our sinful nature, the way that change comes about in a Christians life is if the christian continues in the word of God to renew their mind and in turn there actions will progressively change as they grow in Grace and knowledge of the truth however they can fall back in to old habits and old ways and often times its a day to day process. If a Christian lives like the devil or becomes apostate their still save because the Lord remains faithful to keep his promises. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered, blessed is the man whom the lord will not impute sin
Also the term "possessed" by the holy spirit is a little strange to me. I believe that we are in dwellt by the holy spirit but not possessed or controlled by him, we can be led by him but not possessed. We all have a free will to serve or not to serve to obey or not to obey and to rest in the finished work of Christ Jesus and that alone as our ticket in to heaven or not to believe. Not sure if your a Calvinist so I just wanted to clarify that we all have free will. Before I got saved I had to watch pastor Ralph Yankees sermon a couple times until it finally clicked and I understood and trusted In Jesus Christ as my saviour. I hope you continue to watch these sermons and seek truth humbly you are in the right place you just have to believe. Acts 16:31

I have been a Christian for 9 years and was radically saved at 22, have been to Bible college, led ministries etc. blah blah. You used examples of sin, I’m not talking about sin, but continual patterns of sin over the rest of your life. If you ‘live like the devil’ the rest of your life I take that to mean you are living in sin (habitual sin) the rest of your life. The devil is in constant sin. Sorry, you cant read the whole scope of the Scriptures and tell me that someone who does not mature and see God sanctifying him in holiness over 20 30 40 years has truly been in dwelt by the Holy Spirit. Impossible

You are missing the entire context of what I’m saying. Of course we trust in Christ alone for our salvation and not by works whatsoever. However, if you ‘accept’ Christ (which is not in the Bible) you’re life will be changed. If you want to be Christ’s disciple you have to die. Those are Jesus’ words, not mine. I’m sorry, this I’m saved so I can go on sinning and do whatever I want garage is not Biblical. Jesus is enough without my works, but you will grow in your hatred for sin if you truly ‘accept’ Christ.
People were offended with Jesus because he claimed to be God and proved it by miracles. Not because he preached against sin or the law. He did not preach eternal security.
Repent and believe the gospel.
