The women's college basketball season begins with a game against the Michigan Women's Basketball team in Las Vegas on November 4th. Under the leadership of Head Coach Dawn Staley, the team features dynamic players such as Raven Johnson, Bree Hall, Chloe Kitts, and Ashlyn Watkins, with bench support from MiLaysia Fulwiley, Tessa Johnson, and Sania Feagin. Newcomers Maryam Dauda, Joyce Edwards, Maddy McDaniel, and Adhel Tac are anticipated to enhance the team's performance this season.

Captain Will, I'm ashamed of you. You're talking about Lady Gamecock defenders, and you did not mention Tessa Johnson. She's not as flashy as Fulwiley, not as in your face as Raven, but she may be the best position (as far as her feet and body are concerned) defender on the team. I watched every game last year, and I saw people go back door on Milasia, Ashland, Breezy and Raven. But I never saw anyone successfully back door Tessa Johnson. And every time Tessa got switched onto a post player she never backed down, she never gave ground, and she never surrendered a basket without making them work for it. And she does these things without committing silly fouls. Watch the girl, she's one of the best all-around defenders on the team.

Hello Captain Will. I pray that you and your family are doing well. Like you, I am praying for those in the path of the destruction. Thank you for the update. While I understand that schools and coaches have made money off of student athletes, NIL may be as much of a hinderance as well as a help. Heads can become swollen and one’s ability to produce can become compromised. South Carolina is good for now. Anxiously awaiting the season to begin.
