Looks fantastic
thank you :)
The shockwave effect when the player move is so sick
yea quite happy with that hehe
The character designs are so good. Especially the mustache punch, really charming.
thank you! I am quite happy with the little mustache's look :)
I love the effect on the trees, the whole scene just feel more lively when you added that in !!
thank you!!
before i started drawing pixel art for my games / taking pixel art more seriously, i would watch your videos to get inspired :) its kinda surreal to see your comment haha.
@@devlawg701 Oh really! Thats so cool man, thank you for watching my video :D.
u do amazing work man. hope to see more awesome timelapse vids from you :)
I'm working on my own pixel art game, and I think your game looks just incredible. So much attention to detail, and you have tackled a lot of complex, time consuming, and difficult pieces all within just one video update. looking forward to following you as this game progresses!
thank you :) i don't feel i have tackled them completely. for particles and shaders i've only just begun. hoping to create more impressive shaders in the future if possible.
good luck on your pixel art game!!
I absolutely love this art style. Brilliant idea!
aww thank you!
Hey man loved the work! One question. What tools are you using for editing sprites and making destructible bridges?
i made my own pixel art editor to handle drawing and animations. i also have videos about how i made it in this channel :)
Awesome video! The game is looking really awesome. Really am liking the gameplay style of your game. The combat system looks really fun as well. Also the boss battle looks really kool. The shader effects are on point and looks beautiful. Also loving the art style of your game. Looking forward to your next devlog. Keep it up! :)
thank you for the kind words :) at the moment, im trying to incorporate non pixel art effects into the game. if done right, i think its gonna elevate the gameplay even more. i might put tat into the next devlog :)
try adding a night mode, where the moon also have a face (a mad one lol)
you can later decide where to use it (some boss fight, some levels, day and night cycle, etc...)
i just realised the clips for this devlog is mostly during the day. there is already a day night cycle, and the moon has a face haha!
@@devlawg701 is it mad lol ?
i was actually trying to suggest that you add it to boss fights to reflect mood change and seriousness, moreover I'd love to see it in future devlogs 😂
haha, its not mad (yet). i get what you mean by the mood change. currently the sun and moon are tied to the day night cycle, so they wont switch for a boss fight.
i can consider changing their expression to a "mad" one during boss fights. but such work would be a lower priority for me now. thank you for the feedback!! and feel free to give more suggestions :)
woah this looks so cool!! just out of curiosity, do you happen to have anyone working on music for this game? :3
yes I have a friend helping out with this :)
This is absolutely incredible! I'm just beginning work on a 2D sidescrolling adventure and I can only hope that it looks as good as yours. Great tips in here. Your art is fantastic too. Really good job.
thank you kind sir :) and good luck on your project! would you be using the same engine?
@@devlawg701 yes! I have made a few games before for game jams with Godot. I just finished a draft of a game design document for my game. I’m trying to make sure I start off on the right foot for a more serious project :)
ive actually never done a game jam haha. i just irrationally start off on long projects and toil away. hope your game goes well :)
@@devlawg701 if you ever need a break from your big projects you should join one! Feels good to try something new and learn a bit without worrying about trying to make it into anything bigger :)
yea i can imagine! would be nice to work on a smaller thing
You're so inspiring, whish I could be as good as you one day
aww im flattered. thank you :)
👍
:)
looks amazing:)
thank you sir hehe
amazing
thank you :)
Yippee more punch the garden devlogs
trying to keep them monthly!!
Really good mate!
thank you :)
I know this may seem like an odd request, but I'm a game developer who's making a top-down roguelike, but I'm stuck on just on a roll animation, whenever I try animating it on my own it ends up really ugly. At the moment I have all of the necessary animations for my game. Can you make a roll animation for me? if yes just reply to my comment if you're interested. Thanks for reading. You really don't have to, but I thought this would be a good place to ask.
ah im not taking any commission jobs at the moment. all the best with the animation though! i recall enter the gungeon had a great roll animation. you could perhaps use that as a reference?
