- SERVICE A FOR MERCEDES BENZ CLA250,
I'm only covering the oil change, you need to also check fluid levels, brake pad wear level and rotate the tires if due. also fill washer fluid level etc.
I used the oil filter from the dealer and MOBIL 1 0W40 oil. 6 quarts. Torque value for drain plug is 30Nm.
Thanks. Really helpful that you listed all the wrench sizes! Saves lots of time.
Just bought this car and glad to know that i can do it myself, unlike the Volvo I traded in for it . Awesome video!
Thanks man gonna do it on mine this weekend very informative and very direct. Thank you
You need a 27mm socket to unscrew the filter for anybody guessing.
Thank you!
@@TrevSRT4 It's one of the easiest cars to do the oil change :)
@dimmacommunication just did the oil change on my wife's cla and it was straight forward! Looked up this video and came across your comment is exactly what I was looking for. Socket size for the oil filter housing. Again, thank you
@@TrevSRT4 You are welcome :)
Super helpful. Working on a cla today for the first time.
Was looking specifically where gaskets go and could not see in the video
Is the oil you use appropriate for cold winters in Canada? If you are not sure, please describe the average temperatures in your area.
What about the copper gasket where does it go ??
can you put a link or tell me what kind of torque wrench and extension that you used to remove the filter? thank you so much
Thank you. What did you do with the brass ring?
It should go on your oil pan drain plug
Background music is awesome! Metallic 🤘
Love fom kolkata, india man🤘
Thank u
@@SocalGates welcome
Aren’t you overfilling it with 6 quarts? It’s supposed to be 5.9 quarts according to the manual. If you put 6 quarts, you will see that the oil will go beyond the MAX sign. I know overfilling is dangerous but overfilling by 0.1 quarts is probably not too bad? Any thoughts on this? Anyone?
U can check the dip stick when u finish. 0.1 is neglige
Great video, but are you kidding with the music in the background. It's the audio version of a toothache.
Good video, to the point, no bullshit, thanks
I have a GLA 250 and I hope the oil change will be similar to the CLA
Thank you! Super easy to follow
So why does the amg cost $300 and up to change the oil?? What does this model cost
Because, it's Mercedes.
They are screwing your lol it would cost you 100 dollars max and 30 minutes of your time to do it yourself
So how much would an oil change cost buy taking your cla 250 to the dealer ?
Like around 90-120
270 in my country
280 in texas, dealership
Nice Video, Thank You!! Needing to know what is the drain plug torque ? On the CLA250 4 matic.
What year is yours
hey I want to know I'm about to do oil change on my cla250. I want to know what you do with the ring ?
+DIY MOSTLY thanks man you save me 300
I like how the dip stick magically disappeared at 4:16. Because the sound kept rolling, it actually was a great illusion.
If I don't crop the video it will become 20 minutes long
r u listening to metallica?
This is perfect! Thank you
My mom won’t allow me to do it for some reason she thinks ima mess up a sensor or sum😂🥲
thanks for the tutorial...are these engines rackety sounding kind of diesel like....or is something wrong with mine..i just bought it but yours sounds kind of loud too...awkward for a Benz..
Direct injection make them sound bad probably 🤔
Also, torque your drain plug to 25nm then 30nm.
What year is that car
2014
Would you need a computer to service a 2016 model?
Good video, save money for dealer, thanks
Nice video man, one question, can you tell me what the torque setting on the drain plug is?
Where is the dipstick to check the transmission fluid?. I have 2010 Mercedes c250 and I don't see it anywhere.
hey there great video! do you recommend doing a brake fluid change DIY at 30,000mi or so? thanks
nice video, thanks for sharing
Very helpful video. How many miles are on your CLA? I was looking to purchase but, I'm a bit hesitant because I keep hearing that the regular maintenance cost are ridiculous especially when you get to the 30k service and every 10k service etc.
***** Thanks. I think some people blow things out of proportions sometimes. Also alot of Mercedes owners take it to a dealership which cost way more than say and Jiffylube or Meineke. I'll probably still get one if I can find one for around 26-29k.
Any features or package recommendations you'd suggest?
I always partially refil the filter chamber to speed up the time that the motor takes to recover oil pressure. Otherwise good video.
One very important thing he did wrong… you’re not suppose to check the oil level when the car is on!! The oil is traveling through the channels in the motor so there will be less oil the dipstick will be reading. If you then add oil you’re going to overfill and cause serious damage.
Thx buddy !
who else extract the oil from above? Been doing it for 70k miles so far
Me ,works flawlessly.
How
@@realskata16 find an oil extractor, its cheap. I bought one for my brake fluid flush
I change my oil every 5k
Son Vu why?
👍🏽
good video. but not worth it to do it your own
I believe you can buy the oil and filter and take them to a near garage and pay them $10 - $20 and they will do that for you. At least you won't risk your life with the ram that you use. I have heard a guy installing a starter for his own vehicle with metal ram just like you did. However the ram collapsed due to rust and nobody was around at the time until his wife comes home after work and realized his dead body under the car. Anyways. Thanks for your video its very nice but please becarefully how you get the job done. Such as setting more safety. For example. Putting a floor jack or jack stand just in case anything happen.
You’re dying one day
@@evanchan6644 I just extract oil from above :)
Liuqd moly is way better then Mobil 1
