For the tax return, do you send the entire tax return or just the federal and state return? Also, it has my bank information like routing number and everything, do we send that? Idk what to do and it's stressing me out cause I'm almost out of time. I file with h and r block and it's 32 pages. Do I send that or only state and federal? @@AshleyNicholson yes it does and you were right about everything, I applied for this area in October 2020, got selected December 2021 and got approved 3 days ago. It's definitely a process, I prayed to God that housing connect called me before nycha did because I selected for dyckman projects also, thank God. Lord knows I don't wanna live there.

Omg. I want to cry watching this. I'm trying to get my elderly mom in a senior building and the process is so long This pandemic has token a told on my mom but she has me. I'm trying to move in the long run in about 1 or 2 years. The building she currently lives in is horrible. Lower floors get no heat. I dont think they built the apartment well. I'm just hoping my mom gets this apartment. The site says it's under review. Please 🙏🏿 #akidfrom highbridge🙏🏿

I've gotten called for at least 6 connect apartments so I know how to work this system. Turned down at least 3, took one that Ive been living in for about 5 years now, I don't remember about the other 2 but all I've done is turn down or accept. I pray all is good for you from here on out.

@@shaygoodine9247 I'm not sure how you came upon that paper which shows what you think is an error but you can put in an appeal but they usually don't change anything after that first interview for document review but if you appeal anything you're going to have to explain how yo came upon that info. I saw a video on yt explaining how to go about complaints or appeals and I could be wrong but I think ashley went through something like this in her journey but I never have so look through ashley's videos on this subject and if not just search on yt. I'm sorry I couldn't help more.

Heyy I viewed my apartment and they said I approved 🎉but I’m just waiting to sign my lease ,they said within the 15days of the day I viewed it ,but is that Normal ?
Thank you Ashley. Question they asked me to send a mobility letter, I have no idea what that is. Also they said my application was being handled by a Marketing Firm. again I don't understand is that something common. and 3rd is Since I have low income and a voucher do they expect me to pay 1st Month real rent $ 2800 plus $2800 Security Dep? I am like what low income person has $7K to move into an apt. Thanks if you have answers that may help.

Hey Ashley! I was wondering if you could answer a question. I’m currently in the process of HC. My case manager is … not the nicest person. She barley wants to answer a question of mine and has been miss spelling a lot of my information on my TIC document. But long story short, what exactly does HDC/HPD do? I believe my files should be sent out this week and she said I passed my credit check. Does that mean I may possibly get the apartment?

If ur waiting for a building to get certificate of occupancy and they gave u an apt number already what does that mean?
Hey My love I just wanted to let you know you have helped so much and Givin me so much hope for me and my son. I wanted to also let everyone now if they have someone with them who gets ssi they will need and award letter and a ssp letter. The ssp letter they can not obtain through the ssi office they will have to call for that one and get it faxed or emailed!

It should be on the website in the actions needed tab and then you can upload pdf files from there
You also request online to drop the documents off to them

I got chosen for an apartment in Brooklyn but I live in Queens. I found that weird! I declined that place but it felt nice being selected to submit papers. And all my log numbers are very low for places in Brooklyn. So idk...guess I can't complain.
they just called me back for an apartment in the bronx but i live in brooklyn and applied for multiple in brooklyn and still haven’t call me back for one here yet 😭

Ok sorry to be so long, I just wanted to know if I'll have to submit my son's FASA info, he's a full-time student, who'll be on my lease also. 2) I don't have a 401K but I do have a DOE UFT Pension Plan will they need that info as well? And lastly, I live in Brooklyn but have been applying for Apts in other boro's as well should I just apply only in Brooklyn?

Hi Ashley, thank you for all of these informative videos, they’ve been super helpful! Just wanted to know if you blacked out any information on some of the documents you submitted? Like the account number on your bank statements?
Heyy and no I didn’t because they already had my social security number lol
Do not blackout anything on the bank statements like account numbers and things like that. They will reject those and ask you to submit copies that are not blacked out. I blacked mine out and it was a headache because I had to resubmit all of them all over again and it holds up the process.
I’m currently going through the process I have to appeal I’m so nervous 😟I hope I get it’ such a stressful process . Idk if appeals really work smh 🤦🏽♀️

Right now I'm at the stage of submitting documents. I'm so nervous and hoping I do not go past the income bracket :( But yes they did ask for my whole life story so now I'm waiting for an update.

I'm currently going through the process. Definitely, have as much documentation ready before your interview date like Ashley said. I already had copies of social, birth certificates etc. But the moment I got the call, I went ahead and got my 6months of bank statements, the letter of the school my son attends, 12 months of rent receipts, letter stating my cat is a emotional support animal. Have everything ready. The only thing I didn't have, was a notarized letter explaining my Cash app and Mercari sales. And I didn't have a letter from an ex-employer, who I chose not to follow through with a job back in September. I was able to get the last documentation needed in 2 days. Submitted everything, within two office visits. The documentation process won't seem stressful, if you plan for it. Then it's just a waiting game, after that 😩

how can you get an notarized letter for your animal stating an emotional support animal ?
@@ShakiaSimmons I think they will just ask you for paystubs and ask your new employer, to write a letter stating your income and start date. The letter I got for my cat, was from the doctor. If you need the animal as an emotional support pet, you can get a letter from your therapist/psych

The information in your application appears to match the eligibility requirements for one or more units in this development. If you are interested in proceeding" I submited my documents and todat they wrote me again asking me to provide them my log number, does this mean I won the lottery?

Hi they asked me about my bank statement also if someone sent me $30.00 dollars do i have to explain why the person sent me 30 dollars or why i sent 30 dollars ?
You just have to explain the 30 dollars of why it was sent. I usually say someone gave me back money I spend on their lunch or dinner
When you apply on the housing connect online, do you add all the documents or do you just apply and then send in the documents when they call ?
I submit once they ask for them each building ask for different things
what does it mean when one place you apply for asks you for action required? does that mean you have been selected and if u show the proof you get it?

It’s not guaranteed that you would get it it’s based off of the information that you submit and they have to make sure that you’re eligible

So they will either email you to upload documents online or send you a packet in the mail to submit your documents in mail it back to them? Also, on housing connect website for the household information is there a way to add that you have a cash app account?
Yes but some leasing specialists prefer you to bring the documents into the office. N on the housingconnect website I have not seen a way to add your Cashapp information but if you have Cashapp transactions on your bank statements they will request the balance

@@BeccaSupreme9197 gifts as in like money ? You have to say it was gifted but they will let you know what you’ll have to do once they review your bank statements
@@AshleyNicholson yeah gifts as in money that you may receive on a routine basis. Like when writing a notarized statement explaining what it is for and submitting that statement to them.

Hi, I live with my mother but I’m not on the lease and have a different address on my ID. All my mail goes to my moms apartment though (where I currently live) do you think I will have an issue? Should I get my address changed back to my mothers address? Or do they not care if the address I live at doesn’t match the address on my ID?.. thank you!
You just need an notarized letter stating you live with your mom which has to be signed by her

It depends on wen your leasing specialist send the documents but it took me. Month to get all my documents together with letters and self affidavits and they responded in one week because it’s myself alone

How did u calculate ur income
So, is the rent amount list on there the amount you will be charged? According to my income for a family of 4, I would pay $ 2,380.00 for a 2-bed apartment in Queens. Can this amount change?
that would be the amount you pay for the first years lease and after that when you renew your lease you have to do a income verification again and and the rent can go up 2.5% nothing more depending on your two or 1 year lease agreement i am in the process of doing my lease renewal now

Can school tuition hinder your chance of getting an apartment? I just received a call to upload documents for an apartment through housing connect but I will be paying tuition in the very near future. Thanks for your response in advance.

As of right now I do not know if there is a maximum amount for savings they haven’t said anything but I assume if it’s for retirement or something they would say something

Do they consider what you have saved in your bank as savings as an extra income? Also how do you write down your zelle and cash app payments for them from 6 months ago? I printed out the statements but I am aware that they need to know for what that money was for?
No they don’t consider savings as extra income only a 401k they would consider extra income because you can withdraw it. Also they will instruct you on how to write down the Cashapp and Zelle deposits via a self affidavit provided by them just remember what the deposits were for
are you using your g7x to film this or your canon m50
I’m using my canon m50 with my sigma 16mm lens. I don’t use a G7x anymore because the quality irks me lol
Do they check credit?
yes but It included in the background check. It doesnt determine if you are approved though. as long as you dont have 5k in collections you should be good

Was your log number low?
Yes but I also had high log numbers and was contacted 7 months later. Due to being accepted already I rejected the other building

Heyyy, Im young but I provide for myself and always have so of course I want to move into my own apartment now after having to deal with my parents constantly kicking me out and all that .I just started working fulltime, I have a saving and all that but this would be my first apartment. I just want to know how this might affect my process. I’ve been applying since last year, I’m not a student. If anyone can maybe help explain to me what I can do I’d appreciate it sooo much. Heyy Just make sure to have a solid income and W2 to prove it as well. as long as your over 18 you should be fine
