Here in the U.S., years ago, when someone would start a new retail business, they would always have a 'grand opening' to encourage people to come in and give the business a try. Usually it would offer free prizes during the first few days just by registering for the prizes. I don't know if it's still done, but used to be standard practice for most new businesses.

Anyone interested could attend and watch the drawing. It used to work well to promote a new business.
