Thanks for the info on the Patriot headers. I've been running a modified On3 Turbo exhaust kit on mine to not have to fight with the steering box. Ordered them up and got them installed, had to modify the cradle a little bit on the passenger side (I'm running drop solid mounts for more clearance) but the driver side fit like a glove!
Saw you today on Lindell! Very sweet build!!!
Ha right on! Thank you!
Me too
if you get a few min some pictures of stuff like the trans mount and other stuff would help alot
For sure, I'll put it in another video, I have the clip for it just forgot to mention it vocally so it didn't fit in the video lol.
But I'll tell you, it's the stock trans mount from the T5, and the stock bracket from the conquest, with a crossbar in-between to match up the respective bolt holes and some rubber bushings in-between
@@TheCherryGarage thankyou probably go to go with a aluminum intake and carborater that should make it easier ,cut down on alot of wiring and i am old school so it will be easier for me to work on
Pretty bad ass!!
Thanks, we dig your ride as well!
Awesome work! Looking great!
Thank you!
to bad you dont have a templet fot where to make the holes for the motor mounts
I would have made some, but my car had some front end damage and It wouldn't have made for an accurate template. In a previous episode of this I did show how I measured it and cut!
you have a link for the hood pins?
Just added it to the description!
I have a 1988 Chrysler Conquest TSI, putting a 5.0L Ford 302 in it ,,, what kind of oil pan did you use, the pan that came of the engine or a pan with the soomp in the front
Front sump fit perfect
what front sump pan did you use some guys are saying you have to use one from an early mustang
I used the one from the early pickup. They might be the same, as long as it's a single sump on the front of the pan.
would the ac compressor fit under the hood?
Most likely yes, I didn't have an AC compressor on my stock engine, but if you can get the housing to fit up to the factory setup it should work. Probably a universal hosing kit would do the job. And then wiring it up for fast AC idle and controls would be the harder part.
also prob go with a 1 wire alternator
is it pretty quick ?
i am doing the same thing to mine
It's fairly quick, longest part was the wiring. You can use the concentric slave cylinder for the clutch or use what I did. I made a custom trans bracket and got a driveshaft made. Overall a simple swap
Where did you buy the headers from ? Part number? Did you have to do any modification to the headers to make them fit? Thank you my friend
The link is in the description of this video. Only modification needed for mine was a bit of hammering on the passenger side of the subframe corssmember where the engine mounts, the hump is a bit larger than the driver's side and needs to be flattened down
did the oil pan fit ok with the front sway bar
I had to heat and bend the front bar to fit, not much though. Next video we're putting up will show the fitment.
@@TheCherryGarage thankyou
How'd you find the headlights on Amazon? Generic fit or specific to a starion?
Generic fit, there's a couple different options, whichever style you like. The ones I bought I'm not too impressed with, to be honest.
what are the diminsions of your radiator?
26"W x 15"H x 2.5"D
what part of the sub frame did you have to cut ?
Cut slots on the subframe for the engine mounts, once I flipped the factory mounts, I showed this in a previous upload we did.
So now its a Stallion.. 😏
Either that or a starfox 😂
@@TheCherryGarage like this one better.
how are the headers working any problems at all
None yet! Haven't gotten the entire exhaust system hooked up yet though.
the motor and trans i have is out of a 86 gt i may take of the fuel injection and run a carborater would the trans mount from the conquest or the mustang work.great build by the way love it,sorry about all the questions
Yea it'd be a lot simpler with the carb, but that would be a question if itd fit with the hood on.
I used factory conquest trans bracket on the chassis, people say they "flip it" but idk what they mean by that lol, it's asymmetrical so it only fits one way. All you need to do is make an adapter plate between the T5 trans and the conquest bracket, they line up.
But thanks man, glad you like it!
I got one we question
I m asking you from Europe
0-60 mph ?
O-100 mph
I like your question, but I'm still breaking in the clutch. It'll be a little bit more time before I give it the beans but we will record 0-60/100 times
did you use the factory dual sump oil pan?
I used a earlier generation oil pan and pump from the 5.0, the front sump style
@@TheCherryGarage would the dual sump pan work ?
@@karlwollerman8292 no it won't unless you modify the subframe and use a different steering rack/linkage setup
You’re doing an amazing swap my friend I love the way it turns out did you have any problems with oil pan sit on top of steering linkage or engine cross member? or bad vibrations going 100mph mine is do you have part number for the headers? Thank you
Thanks! I appreciate it.
No problems with the front sump oil pan setup at all, it's close but fits perfect.
I haven't yet had it up to 100 but I'm sure I'll find some vibrations 😂
So found out recently, the car vibrates really bad around 70mph.
I'm thinking it's my trans mount, imbalanced driveshaft , and possible tuning issues. Still looking into it. But all stock suspension setup right now
Thank you for the updated on what might caused really bad vibration at high speed can you make a video of what you do to fix this issue? Thank you for your awesome build
Hey figured out the vibration issues.
The front wheel bearings have a re-torquing procedure for the hub nut. They're likely finger tight on yours. Torque them to 14ftlbs, then loosen to 0, then re-tighten to 4 ft lbs. Yes 4, very minimal but it'll really help. That and the lower ball joints on these like to go out, they're a quick replacement and also help.
