This were other times. A time when most of the politicians had character, today most of them are just disgraceful slime balls.
Howard Taft to Reagan: Horse back riding? hold my beer!
British people call it horse riding. For a reason I can't understand Americans call it horseback riding, as if you have the choice between the back of the horse and other parts.
There's a lot of "dialect" differences. President Reagan once joked that the "English and Americans were one people separated by a common language". Some people just have to be so critical...
@@baronedipiemonte3990 Just a silly remark about the many oddities of the English language, intended to make you laugh. British people would understand.
@@baronedipiemonte3990 Typical American getting salty over that comment. It’s horse riding not horseback riding, now learn that and repeat back to me…
@@SIRKlLLALOT Get a real life pal. You're the one who's getting salty in the comment section.
@@SoldierPoet Says the one who couldn’t resist to bite back…let me guess, you are American!
I’m just going to say a little sentence to fuck with your head, because I can.
I’m British, and I’m going to walk out my house, through my GARDEN, out of my gate, onto the PAVEMENT, get into my ESTATE CAR, then drive (on the left which is the correct side) down to the nearest ROUNDABOUT, cross the LEVEL CROSSING, go to TESCO’s, then get a shopping TROLLEY, and maybe pick up some bags of CRISPS and some fish and CHIPS 🍟 and a pair of TROUSERS, and maybe some PANTS 🩲 or JUMPERS, then head to the CHECKOUT, and load all the shopping into the BOOT of my car, then lift the BONNET to add SCREENWASH to clean the WINDSCREEN, and then drive off in my manual car to go and get some PETROL from a PETROL station, then drive home. I think I’ll spend the night on the GROUND floor, you know the first one you get to! May have a ROLL or some PRAWNS 🦐 for dinner, then maybe some JELLY or CANDY FLOSS. I really like the SWEETS 🍬 we have in the UK 🇬🇧.
See how just those few examples of our words are completely different from yours? America has literally no reason to be using them, it’s makes zero sense and don’t forget, if you are an American, that you are basically just a devolved British person at heart. I take great pleasure in winding up Americans, but don’t get too angry and get your gun out as you don’t want another mass shooting do you! There’s probably one planned for tomorrow anyway and you don’t want to spoil it early.
Funny how Americans act as the supreme country, but take away your guns and what are you? Fuck all that’s what, just the same as everyone else.
You can tell he's used to riding Western.
Katie Brown That’s where you’d be wrong. President Reagan almost ALWAYS rode English.
No, he rode English.
good horsemen can ride both in the US.
He was a Cavalry officer before WW 2.
Now this is what a real PRESIDENT acts like.
How fitting....
Very nice 👍
Wow!
God bless our Queen ❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹
Nice clip, but I must say you would've thought this was about Margaret thatcher. Not to belittle her, she was a wonderful person and leader
Glad to know they went riding on horses and not elephants, camels or donkeys, and that they rode on the horses' backs, and not on their heads or necks or bottoms. Such a relief.
This is a really really stupid comment.
"Horseback riding" is a commonly-accepted name for this activity. Silly you to not know that.
@@cathynewyork7918 Exactly. I've seen several rude and snobbish people here in comments who think they're way of speaking is the only way.
President Reagan was a US cavalry officer in WW2.
No, he joined the US Cavalry as a young man; in World War II he was working in the film department.
He couldnt serve in combat due to his eye sight.
@@TH-qk1ex You are correct. Couldn't serve in combat but was still in the Army, he helped make public service movies shown in theaters the biggest role was as the lead in This Is The Army which benefited the soldier's relief fund.
No, his eyesight made him 4F for service.
