Jon asked a lot of good questions, and brought up points that seem to put a thing or two into perspective for Matt (specifically with how men vs. women might’ve reacted to things differently back then, and Vince’s response to the Rita situation). Matt made a great point at the end too. I hope any victim in all of this gets their due justice. Vince might’ve done “nice” or “good” things, I’m sure he did, but at the end of the day that can’t/ nor can ever overturn the bad or evil he’s had a pattern of being accused of/ has done. (Not that I think you guys believe otherwise).
When Matt and MVP had there rivalry back on Smackdown I thought it was unique especially the basketball segment. I didn’t think Vince would approve of the idea of the rivalry since it’s about competition.
Just a thing, just because TNA had a lot of WWE big stars at one time, the way it was presented was not WWE-lite. It had more consistent story than WWE ever did at the time. That wasn't WWE lol.
People find simple, unchanging things easier to deal with more than things that can change. Humans change under particular consequences and compartmentalize their own inconsistencies. The Mr. McMahon character is a variation of VKM for a particular set of circumstances, as is the "Good Boss" Vince. A Shoot becomes a Work, and a Work becomes a dress rehearsal for a Shoot. When you don't have external pressures restraining your ID, you find out how developed the SuperEgo is. Asking the difference between VKM and "Mr. MCMAHON " is like asking, Which is the mask?: Bruce Wayne or Batman? Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde?
trish status barking was a storyline you silly mark. she had no problem doing the storyline. get a grip. there are worse things happening in tv shows and movies.
I think Jon doesn’t understand how things were different back then. Even Trish herself says that she doesn’t regret what she did. Everyone back then weren’t a bunch of woke, sensitive, social justice warriors. The whole point of Vince doing things he did was to paint a picture of good vs evil, and how to push the envelope societally.
You know being "woke" just means you're aware of how problematic things were back in the day, right? It doesn't make you soft, it means you've learned. Also, Trish didn't like that angle, and if you have a source backing that claim, I'm all ears.
19:33 for Vince discussion
Always great to get the perspective of people who were in the system, backstage and who interacted with the subject in question.
Thank you for the candid honesty Matt 🔥
Awesome job matt with the podcast keep it up
The intro song would be a cool entrance song for the Hardy’s

At best: She's a proven liar and he's exonerated.
At worst: He's proven guilty and leaves a disgraced legacy.
