Fred Taylor for me. He missed like 2 full seasons in his prime from major lower body injuries and still had a borderline HOF career, that's after slightly losing some burst and speed bc of those injuries. Dude was a freak!
Fast as fuck and STRONG as fuck! Dude was a monster in college and I expected the same in the pros. Not that he was a failure more of a “damn man” missed opportunity.
Yeah he was the 1st person I thought, i don't know who gave him that nickname "fragile freddy" but they didn't do him any favors. Just one more healthy season in his prime and he's top 10 all time yards, only people with more yards then him not in the hall yet are not eligible yet.
I've always had a love hate relationship with Bo. On the one hand, he was awesome and one of the most naturally gifted players I've ever seen. On the other, I love Marcus Allen and Bo took time away from him. But one way or another, you are totally correct. Unless something crazy happened, I think we'd all agree that Bo would be in the Hall if he hadn't gotten injured.
He might be on this list because of the rumor. The rumor that he was going to quit football because it was too much for him. He always said, his true love was baseball. Yes for us fans, we wanted him to quit baseball and play football. They either forgot Bo (yes a huge mistake) or were putting credence on that rumor
Dude was the best offensive weapon for 2 straight years. They give Terrell Davis love for his short career I don't understand why Gurley and others isn't given the same love?
Why isn't Roger Craig ever talked about. If Marshall Faulk is in and hyped for his 1k rushing/receiving year then Craig should be in too. He was a Offensive MVP, 3x SB champ, 4x Pro Bowl.
Luck didn’t have what it took , no heart. Stanford got the shit beat out of him for over 10 years playing for a horrible Lions team and didn’t quit. Finally got traded to the Rams and won a Super Bowl.
I think I remember some of his teammates say the problem for him was that he played so hard. He didn't know any other way to play other than full on 150% effort all the time, lay the boom on every hit, full sprint every time. It's part of what made him so good when he was healthy, but it also led to him getting banged up a lot. But man, when he was healthy, he hit like a dang Mack truck.
P. Willis wasn’t forced into retirement due to injuries. Yes he talked about injuries and what not,but for him,it was more to protect himself for his mental/physical health in the future. He more retired for what COULD HAVE happened than what DID happen
Jamal Lewis … he came into the nfl after a serious knee injury and sadly suffered another one early in his nfl career yet he still dominated when he played not to mention breaking the (at the time) single game rushing yards record and almost breaking the single season rushing yards record … i use to always think about what he could of did if he was never seriously injured at all in college and played his full nfl career relatively healthy … he was easily my favorite RB to watch when he was playing in college and definitely when he played in the pros
Playing Madden 2005 as kid, I loved playing the Minnesota Vikings, because all I would do was have Dante Culpepper pass it to Randy Moss on PA streak. Touchdown Everytime. It was like having a cheat code. It is a shame how Dante Culpepper‘s career ended.

I agree. In their Super Bowl year in 06, Sanders was injured most of the year, then came back for the playoffs and was a true difference-maker because they went from the worst run D in the league, to one of the best overnight. I can only say that because my team got shut down by them in the Divisional Round in a game dominated by field goals.

Bob Kiechenburg, LC Greenwood, ken Anderson, mike Curtis, Lester Hayes, otis Taylor, Walt Sweeney, jim Marshall, Chuck Foreman, Joey Browner, Tommy Nobis, Roger Craig and Torry Holt
I'd probably include Curt Warner (the running back of the 1980's Seattle Seahawks). He suffered a season ending knee injury in the 1984 opener after a stellar rookie campaign but still had four 1,000 yard seasons (he narrowly missed a fifth). If he'd been a little healthier not only would he be in Canton alongside the "other" Kurt Warner but Steve Largent and the Pacific Northwest might have had Super Bowl rings back in the day.
Going way back to the late 60s/early 70s the Bengals had a QB named Greg Cook who looked like the real deal when on the field. Injuries wrecked his career.
Sterling Sharpe deserves to be in the hall of fame regardless of his short career. His numbers were put up before the league became pass happy and he did it without a great qb.
Mike Brown, safety, Chicago Bears. That guy was a playmaking MACHINE. Even Urlacher said he was important, but Brown was the quarterback of the Bears defense. Poor guy was CONSTANTLY injured as a pro.
Bert Jones was Great, if we had the surgical procedures, available back then , that we do now, Bert would be in the hall of fame, he was a Rock Star, a great player whose time was cut short, due to shoulder injuries.

That run by Billy Simms was amazing! He kicked two defenders in the head on a single run. You could also add Mike Brown of the early 2000 Bears to this list.

RG3 had a brilliant rookie season. We got robbed of seeing his career play out healthily. Lots of guys that came and went because of this. I find the NFL to be unwatchable because of it. At the end of the day, it often time isn’t about who’s the best, but instead, about who is healthier and deeper. Can’t stay committed to a game that can’t keep its best players healthy.
RG3 was Insane to watch, too bad they force him back in to play, before he was truly recovered, Even when he beat, any of my teams, i love to watch him play, its so sad that he had to retire so early, He would of been on of the greats, if not for the injuries he suffered.
Luke Kuechly? Jerry Rice will always be the best receiver to me but I got to say if Sterling Sharpe had not suffered that injury there is a good chance Rice would be 2nd all time in stats. He was that good. This is coming from someone who despised the Packers in the 90s (because the losses they dealt SF lol).
