I’ve been only watching football throughout the season since 2022. My roommate was a diehard browns fan, and we watched the Browns Panthers season openener. Watching Baker at his lowest point until now has been an amazing story to watch. I’ve noticed a lot of NFL fans want to see results from their young qbs immediately- sometimes it’s warranted, with guys like Stroud and Burrow, but majority of QBs don’t come in and light up the league, and there’s no patience for young guys to develop nowadays, and that is a shame. Baker’s story shows everyone that these guys can’t be written off.
Baker did light up the league right when he came in. He broke the rookie TD passes record that had been in place since Peyton Manning’s rookie year without even getting to play until week 3 or start til week 4, and went 7-7 in those games on a team that went 0-16 the previous year. He had a terrible coach his second year and played hurt in his fourth before the worst pro sports franchise in North America made the dumbest decision of all time then held onto him until a month before the season, at which point they sent him to the new biggest dumpster fire in the league. The media has so thoroughly muddied the waters around his career slinging shit it’s unbelievable.
They got results from Mayfield. Just had lousy coaching. His last year in Cleveland he touched it out and played with an injured shoulder so he didn't play well , but , good enough to win 8 games. Although he playing wise didn't deserve to be canned, it was actually his big mouth that did him in. When the Browns first talked to Watson he was like hell no I ain't going to Cleveland. Then Baker got butt hurt and said he wouldn't play for them no more. That's why the Browns made Watson an offer he couldn't refuse. They were caught out . I don't think if Mayfield kept his mouth shut he would have been traded.
@urusledge absolutely correct. People forget he had KC on the ropes at KC. Refs miss calls and that's okay, but the helmet to helmet on Higgins and we move on, but forget about that. The point that everyone forgets about that game is Baker's Blind side left tackle for the KC game... Baker met him before the game in the locker room. And, Baker's right guard was practicing taking snaps in a parking garage to get ready. Yet, they played well and lined up right. Interesting what happens when you have a kid that communicates the little details
Oh, you mean those 4th quarter go ahead drives that meant nothing because the defense folded like a $2 tent in a hurricane? He looked alright in goddamn LA with a day and half to prepare, though, didn't he? He's also won a playoff game since being dealt away from Gonorrheaville. 1:22 - Apparent Skip Bayless was right about Baker Mayfield (BM) all this time. And while the Browns O-Line is shaky, they undoubtedly would be better off with BM than Deshaun Watson and that massive contract. Imagine the other positions they could've made better with that $230M fully guaranteed contract.
No, not everyone, Anyone can check all my socials, I was team Baker asa Browns fan the whole time since he was drafted, through the injury, through the BS with Watson, even during his backup days. Dude has gone through it all. I never jumped Baker train, and Im riding this bish to the Super Bowl.
They didn’t do Mayfield any favors by giving him Freddie Kitchens as a HC. I know Mayfield liked him but a franchise has to say no turning over the keys to a neophyte. Should have stuck with Then he got hurt. Lesson here. Don’t play hurt and think the organization will give you credit for it. Andrew Berry used it as an excuse to help a brother out with the worst deal in NFL history. How he is still employed is a mystery. Regarding his commercials. Anyone complaining is a clown. I have worked on commercial shoots. He shot those commercials in one day, two tops. They were all on one location. I’d actually be surprised if went to two days. Those clowns act like they wouldn’t pick up 2 million in free money. Beckhams are clowns.
You also forgetting he was extremely immature in his Cleveland days and he was very up and down. Good rookie year, bad second year, Good 3rd year, bad 4th year. All while playing with a top 5 defense and some capable weapons
Remember the days of "Browns gonna brown"? Baker put an end to that and still did not earn Clevelands trust. Now that him and Sam have fought their way out of really bad spots that QB class looks like advertised back in the day. One of the best ever!!! Oh yea and Browns apparently gonna brown... and I'm not talking about that A💫 roster!
I wished the Raiders signed him when he went to the Bucs, I had a feeling that he would turn it around after he beet us with the Rams. That game gave him his confidence back and now he's better than he ever was.
In hindsight I think we were all to hard on Baker and just denied the fact that terrible franchises ruin players development. He’s now where he needs to be destroying defenses and winning playoff games
Right now, Baker top five quarterback. He leads the league in touchdowns. He’s third and quarterback rating. I see him taking the Bucs deep into the playoffs this year
The Browns didn’t like Baker’s immaturity and cocky attitude, so they replaced him with Deshaun Watson… This is why the Browns will never be a championship team.
Not the Browns fans believing that the QBs are all busts and not the organization that keeps failing these QBs... Speaking as a fan of another franchise with similarly delusional fan base (Cowboys)...
Bruh Baker was in Cleveland…. Stevie wonder can see that man was never gonna accomplish nothing in Cleveland.. it’s all about the team and if you ain’t good from Offense to Defense you are not winning 💩 idc if you throw like Peyton and run like Michael Vick 💯
As a Tampa Native we absolutely Love Baker we knew Brady wasn’t Permanent But Baker came in after Brady and led us to the playoffs we didn’t expect that at all ❤ he’s playing his heart out in Tampa ❤
Its almost biblical how perfect Baker was for Cleveland. He arrives after the 0-16 season, is the only source of stability during a massive coaching upheaval between Hue and Kitchens, then leading the newest form of the Browns, Winning a playoff game against their greatest rivals without his coach in the building, nearly beats Mahomes and the Chiefs, gets hurt the next year trying to tackle after an interception, doesn't sit out to heal, play deteriorates, and then is traded for someone who is about to be suspended and likely something approaching a serial sexual predator. And goes on to success later as the Browns return to utter incompetence. If that was a book, I'd call the author a hack.
Baker wasn't a bust the problem was he went to the Browns. And the thing was during the 2021-2022 seasons he played with an injured arm which is why he wasn't as good yet everyone still blamed him. Alot of times a team decides on if a player is a bust or not one guy can't make a team good and coaching matters alot. Unless your Lebron James in Cleveland aka arguably the best NBA player ever so yeah.
The issue is that the media, and potentially the Browns themselves, pursued the more entertaining story. Reporting that an injury would slow a player down doesn't garner ratings. Creating a QB controversy and creating a list of places for Watson to go, now that makes money and attention. Factor in the crap with OBJ and the attention that got, despite the Browns playing better without the receiver the previous year, and you had a perfect hit piece. Ignore the injuries, criticize the player, and encourage a move at QB. The Browns and the talking heads pushed a narrative that Baker was bad (despite being the most successful QB for the team in roughly 2.5 decades) and that his play was holding the team back. The Browns also made public overtures to Watson and flew that narrative through their media connections without a care to their current QB. Baker likely considered the salary and trade requirements that the Browns would need to recruit Watson from the Texans and knew his time with the team was over, even if Watson wasn't hired. There is something funny that Baker is piecing together a strong resume in Tampa while the Browns moves destroyed the the once promising team for probably another 5 to 10 years (assuming they do smart things and not what what the Browns typically do). The loss of salary, draft picks, cap space, and everything else is bordering on revenge against the Browns, especially considering those picks were also used to build the current Texans.
So many people lineed up to service Deshaun Watson. Then you just drop the guy who not only gave Cleveland its first playoff win, but beath the hates Steelers to do it. I watched guys like Stephen A. and Shannon wipe their mouths and moves on. How's that working out for you, media? Still tasting the salt?
@@spinmyhead1667 Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you should know how many playoff wins the Browns have had since reforming in 1999. The answer? 1.
The obvious thing everyone is missing is how good the Bucs roster has been. Its wasn't all Tom Brady and definitely isn't all Baker Mayfield. Evans Godwin the best WR duo in the league
A lot of us knew Baker was one hell of a quarterback. The Browns did him dirty and a lot of us were pissed when they screwed him. Thank God he’s on a team that gives him the chance he deserves. GO BAKER!!!!!
Hindsight is 20/20. I loved Mayfield here in Cleveland. But what he should have done was sit out when his shoulder was injured. Hey I love that he is tough but from a business standpoint you can’t do that. What I believe that sunk him in the front office in 2021 was the final INT against Green Bay. Cleveland looked at Watson from a standpoint of we have talent to keep Watson at the top of his game. Well Watson is clearly not the same as he was in Houston. The city wears their heart on their sleeve with this team.
As a Browns fan, I fell in love with Bakers fire. It’s so hard to pull for a team that is emotionally dead. I hope so bad, that Baker wins a Super Bowl before the Browns do.
Baker is what a lot of great QBs are. The more talent you put around him, the better he will perform. But we hold QBs to the manning/brady/luck standards, where they can lift the entire franchise on their shoulders.
We had him here in Charlotte and blew it. I nearly burnt my Panther gear when they shipped him off. I'm happy for him in Tampa and I really feel for the Cleveland fans.
Was he scapegoated? Yes. Should Cleveland have kept him? Hell no. Cleveland is a place players go to kill their career... he was better off the moment they traded him.
Ho estly this video is frustrating, i am so tired of 2021 being bright up but noone really covers it. 2nd half of the season Landry was injured and never recovered (233 yards next season then out of league), DPJ was the 1 receiver and playing banged up. Schwartz was out, not good but at least fast. Also both tackles were out as well plus Baker hurt his knee and ankle against the Pats. There is just so much going on the Cleveland media ignored because they hate him.
Thank you. I'm tired of people trashing Baker and blaming him for 2020. Could you imagine where we'd be right now if we had competent owners, front office, and coaching? An organization that pulled him and handled it the way they should've? A team who didn't fly to Texas to court a washed up predator while trashing the guy who helped turn our team around? I guess as Browns fans we'll never know. Not until Jimmy sells the team and the new owner cleans house to start over.
I'd like to make a couple of statements about this. 1) I'm only a Bucs fan. Only really follow players on the Bucs, not before and after. 2) I've been a Bucs fan all my life. I consider it a successful season if the Bucs are playing meaningful football in November. Now, to my point. I enjoy watching Baker play. Except for Tom Brady, I can't remember a period where I always thought the Bucs could win. I'm always waiting to see what he's gonna do next. I enjoy the product more, now, with Baker.
Hey love the channel my dude. I'm in ATL so I've only been able watch highlights pro but that game in 2017 the Rose Bowl Oklahoma vs UGA they jumped us big. Got cocky. Baker did that f'n throat slash after their next TD and I knew it was on then. That was one of the best Rose Bowls (they say...I'm SEC so I don't know the Big 10 history of it) ever n we came back n whooped ass. Oklahoma was great. Baker brings that moxie ya know. He lights that fire. But I knew we were going to win after the throat slash. It was like 2nd Qtr and we're like Shiiiiiiiiiiiit. Long game. Bring it 2nd half. Took em to overtime and Roquan stood dude up. That Oklahoma team had Mike Evans, Baker, Lamb was there I think, they were zipped up on offense but they couldn't stop a damn thing. Every big game w Lincoln Riley be 45-40 n up. In the SEC we're more defensive minded. Shit they only started passing the ball about a decade ago. A pass like a trick play in SEC lol. Spurrier helped change that. It was a boss game, much respect to OKL and the players. Glad we wrapped it up. Baker is a beast in rhythm. Oh yeah watch Lincoln Rileys offense. Every play they cross at receiver n set picks. After we shut that down we were good
Man, 2022 was rough as I was rooting for Baker since he was a rookie. People called me a fool and refusuing to see his flaws but i felt he was put in rough situations.
Mayfield failed everywhere except Tampa Bay and we were wrong? Uh, no. The offensive system is perfect for an average quarterback. Good for him that he was able to put off driving for UBER or Amazon for another year.
I became a Brown's fan when Paul Brown still the coach. I shit you not. But, Baker Mayfield has made me watch, and root, for the Bucs. Love the guy. He may be short on height, but he's sure long on moxie.

And while the Browns O-Line is shaky, they undoubtedly would be better off with BM than Deshaun Watson and that massive contract. Imagine the other positions they could've made better with that $230M fully guaranteed contract.
I'm a Texas fan, but even I didn't just give up on Baker. It was crazy seeing how quick everyone, including the Browns, was willing to give up on him.
I have always loved Baker, he has heart, style and not afraid of shit.
They didn’t do Mayfield any favors by giving him Freddie Kitchens as a HC. I know Mayfield liked him but a franchise has to say no turning over the keys to a neophyte. Should have stuck with
Then he got hurt.
I wasnt wrong about him...his potential was obvious. Just to help make the browns a decent team was enough to prove that he had potential.
I've always liked Baker he's a true warrior 😊
I'm so glad my Buccaneers got Baker Mayfield.
W vid man, keep up the good work
Remember the days of "Browns gonna brown"?
Baker put an end to that and still did not earn Clevelands trust.
Now that him and Sam have fought their way out of really bad spots that QB class looks like advertised back in the day. One of the best ever!!!
Oh yea and Browns apparently gonna brown... and I'm not talking about that A💫 roster!
I wished the Raiders signed him when he went to the Bucs, I had a feeling that he would turn it around after he beet us with the Rams.
That game gave him his confidence back and now he's better than he ever was.
He would have sucked with the raiders
In hindsight I think we were all to hard on Baker and just denied the fact that terrible franchises ruin players development. He’s now where he needs to be destroying defenses and winning playoff games
Tired of people acting like you have to like everyone. Baker is a real one for being himself.
Right now, Baker top five quarterback. He leads the league in touchdowns. He’s third and quarterback rating. I see him taking the Bucs deep into the playoffs this year
The Browns didn’t like Baker’s immaturity and cocky attitude, so they replaced him with Deshaun Watson…
This is why the Browns will never be a championship team.
Fantastic video. Thank you!!
appreciate it 🫡
Baker Mayfield is throwing passes in tight windows I have only seen the greats do
People keep saying he sucked and was immature. He was injured and he was in a dysfunctional as hell organization.
Not the Browns fans believing that the QBs are all busts and not the organization that keeps failing these QBs... Speaking as a fan of another franchise with similarly delusional fan base (Cowboys)...
very well done video. great research, writing, editing, this is a banger

💯💯
As a Tampa Native we absolutely Love Baker we knew Brady wasn’t Permanent But Baker came in after Brady and led us to the playoffs we didn’t expect that at all ❤ he’s playing his heart out in Tampa ❤
I'm a Vikings fan. But. Baker Mayfield is my favorite player in the league. If my boys can't win the big one, I always hope he does
Baker is awesome and so much fun to watch. Boomer!
Watson's best season was on a 4-12 team(!).... He was never that good.
Remind me how successful Mayfield has been.Umm 1 play-off win then couldn't get it done against Chad Hennie, all you believers are chasing fools gold.
@@spinmyhead1667 Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you should know how many playoff wins the Browns have had since reforming in 1999. The answer? 1.
I never agreed with the 2021 season...but mayfield deserved to finish his contract! Of course browns will be browns!
I love this guy so much dude people do not understand how much I love baker mayfield
Brilliant video,well put together 👏👏👏
The obvious thing everyone is missing is how good the Bucs roster has been. Its wasn't all Tom Brady and definitely isn't all Baker Mayfield. Evans Godwin the best WR duo in the league
His Production for thr amount of HCs and OCs he went through is really impressive.
new offense every year so far in his career
Wins and Losses are not a quarterback stat. I’ll scream it from the rooftops. That’s an outrageous claim!
Consider the source. ESPN hires idiots. Kinda like the ones that inhabit our organization.
best example is joe burrow, playing way better than the team record suggests since his defense sucks.
every qb comeback story needs a mike evans.
Great video my dude 👍. That shoulder injury really hurt Baker and the Browns are foolish. He's a Baller and i hope he continues to play well 🙏
A lot of us knew Baker was one hell of a quarterback.
Funny all the baker haters.. are still hating . Waiting and wanting him to fail.. keep providing them wrong bake
Did that lady say “Wins and losses are a quarterbacks stats?” Ma’am I don’t think that’s how ball works
Na Na. Baker is doing well. He's grown up and playing great football. Leave the past behind you...
High quality content. Subbed.
Hey man thoroughly enjoyed this video 💣 ! So much until I had to hit the like button & subscribe 😊 !
welcome to the channel Rob 🫡
Karma is doing a wonderful job with Mayfield, Watson and the Browns.
😂 I said we shouldn't get rid of him. Nobody believed me.
Baker just hung 51 on the Saints, a team that regularly swept the Bucs. The Browns.. theres no words.
Not EVERYONE was wrong. I knew he had the IT factor.
Baker is what a lot of great QBs are. The more talent you put around him, the better he will perform. But we hold QBs to the manning/brady/luck standards, where they can lift the entire franchise on their shoulders.
The Browns deserve what they got with Watson.
Browns made a huge mistake
Baker is the kind of quarterback where when everything is perfect he is just ok. Glorified Alex Smith.
Fantastic content; excellent presentation and commentary 👍🏾💯🔥

They doing the same to Bryce cant wait for him to ball out too
same bro can’t wait to see him around some play makers
He won’t. He’s complete ass and a dwarf
Bryce didn’t have a solid rookie season, there’s a massive difference
I know this is farfetched but I would like for Carolina to trade him to the Rams.
Amen 👍🏿🙏🏿 Always Believe in yourself! No one knows your capabilities like you do!
LG BAKER 👨🍳
Glad He’s proved Me Right. Thank You Sir Baker Mayfield 🙏
Dude, great vid.
I became a Brown's fan when Paul Brown still the coach. I shit you not. But, Baker Mayfield has made me watch, and root, for the Bucs. Love the guy. He may be short on height, but he's sure long on moxie.
Browns fan for decades and now I watch Tampa bay because they have my Quarterback.
First of all baker is great. Second this video is awesome. Great job making this
SHAKE AND BAKE BABY! GO BUCS
