    Closing in on on million subscribers. I predicted as much when there were less than 200 k. Not bragging but pointing out the obvious: 1. Most important is your viewers must like you. This observation from none other than Johnny Carson the iconic and most popular ever late night talk show host. 2. A central theme that appeals to many people. 3. A complete non- biased presentation of whatever topic your presenting.4. Levity and humor , but again not biased, completely neutral while presenting.5. Presentation and review of iconic chess champions, both current and past. 6. Whom reviewed decided by subscribers vote. Including the audience in some content decisions. So, interesting content of a subject I like where I get to help select what I want to watch and everything emceed by a guy I really like and trust. One million indeed. So as you branch out into whatever endeavor you choose I wish you all the best. Always remember: Integrity

    There is an article about Armageddon time control, I also agree with their conclusion: "This game generation was done because there is a very small amount of Armageddon games in order to draw statistical conclusions out of them. The resulting time controls were found to be 180±35 seconds for white and 110±12.27 seconds for black plus a 2±0.39 second increment per move, starting from move 1".

    I have to imagine Ding thought that d5 wasn’t a true pawn sacrifice and that he’d be able to win the pawn back without much trouble. Except he couldn’t and under such severe time control you don’t have time to calculate the right counterplay.
    you end up piling everything you have into winning your material back without being able to account for your position slowly collapsing in front of you.

      It means that even if you are in a inferior/losing position you should keep on playing and make it harder for your opponent to convert his advantage. He might even makes some mistakes which will allows you to win.
      Weak players when they get into inferior/losing position they resign right away. That's why they don't win.
      I believe Wesley So who said that, "Anyone can get an advantage, but only the best players can convert." So if your opponent is not one of the best players in the world, you should keep on playing if you get an inferior/losing position because there's a big chance that your opponent will mess up his advantage.

    • @eddiehinchliffe7345
      @eddiehinchliffe7345 4 года назад +1

      For many games this could work, but when you are a super GM playing against another super GM (who in this case could well be the best blitz player in the world) they are simply too good at converting winning positions for it to be worth it unless they are extremely low on time. In addition, Hikaru is one of the fastest players on the whole circuit so even if he is low on time he's not likely to mess something like this up in a serious match.
