Had to laugh when Magnus talks about Grishchuk, it's like "yeah he's always better and always extremely low on time". Which is weird how slow he is online because over the board he's 3x World Blitz and Rapid champ.
Grischuk said in an interview about a month ago that he feels he is uncomfortable and slower to spot things on a computer than he is over the board. He said that is true even when he is just at home studying a line or messing around with an engine. When you play at that high a level, split-second pattern recognition is key, and if he feels less comfortable with the interface or the 2d view, it might impede him a tiny amount. Or it could just be Grischuk being Grischuk and messing with us all.
On the one hand blitz games like these lead to exciting situations, but it's also a shame that the players can't play to their maximum potential. Magnus and his galaxy brain work at such lightning speed that he sees things in rapid chess that others can't in the same timeframe, which allowed him to retain his World Championship title by forcing the game to the rapid section. He's of course well in his rights to do this, but it's just sad to see a great player like Grischuk lose due to time pressure. There's a lot to be said about time formats in chess: classical definitely leads to a lot of draws and snoozefests. I wonder if such a thing as "an ideal time format" even exists.
@@wilms2328 classical leads to draws because the current top players are pretty equal in skill level, decisive games are more common when one player is noticeably stronger than the other, it's not because of the time control

8:31 WOW
Maybe it's spelt WHOA?...
On 14 :59 black can play bishop to e4 attacking rook and checking white
15:01 bishop to e4 with a discovered check and picking up the rook? how did he miss that?
Nope, because R x c3 and black just blunders a rook.
Every time i watch a video on this channel i'm gonna play some quick games on lichess :)
Why not bishop to e4 , opening up a discovered check?
Agadmaterino, where are you?
I need to know where the keywords are! XD
He caught coronavirus and died :(
You know it's an amazing game when Agadmator says "Sorry about that"
That means every game is amazing!
