I clicked on this video because of an interest in solar ovens. Much to my surprise I found the most colorful meatloaf recipe ever. It looks delicious! Thank you.
This Solar Unit is indeed beautiful in design, but more importantly is supreme! My boyfriend purchased several of these units! Out of love, we are making sure our loved ones have these on hand. These units, if ordered directly through SunOK and Nuno, ship from Lisbon Portugal. Nuno has done a phenomenal job with this unit in which 5 Stars is underrated! Our family members truly LOVE the performance of this unit and the ease of use. A Sunny day, out in the open with good sun circumference is all that is required. Our family is so pleased with this, they are making a journal of temperature outside and cooking times! Everything they have made has turned out so well and so very good! In essence, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED WITH THIS PURCHASE! COOK IT, EAT IT, LOVE IT, AND ENJOY... ❤❤❤
It's definitely a nice design, and has a nice look ascetically as well. Me, I'm obsessed with ultimate efficiency. I'm working on designing a light weight, vacuum insulated cooler that will double as a Solar oven, passive night time refrigeration unit (by radiating IR up into space), and also a day time active, no electricity refrigeration unit with an add on evaporative/phase change and adsorptive closed loop cooling system that is regenerated by the heat of the Sun. Switching from one function to the other will be super fast and easy--in most cases just switching out a different top/lid. Everything will be based on the core of the cooler, but with different tops for the different functions (and in the case of the daytime fridge, two containers connected by two hoses). I'm trying to make it out of the most sustainable materials possible for most of it. The majority of it will be wood and two forms of unusual, lightweight glass. The main driving force behind it's efficiency is the vacuum insulation. I've figured out a way to make vacuum insulation panels that are light weight, strong, durable, and moderately easy to make. Basically by using a composites approach, except that the main adherent will not be epoxy nor polyester resin as neither of these can hold a vacuum long term and nor do they deal with high temps well. To put it into some perspective, Cork has an R value at best of R4 per inch, which is good for a natural material--it's kind of natures equivalent to foam. A hard vacuum insulation has an R value of R60 per inch. Mine probably won't be a super hard vacuum like that but more of a medium vacuum. So let's estimate R40/inch. To put it another way, it would take 10" thick cork to achieve similar insulation capacity of my 1" vacuum panel. That means it will get up to cooking temperature much faster, reach much higher temps, and retain temps far longer than any Solar cookers minus the evacuated tube ones which also insulate via vacuum. But these don't hold much volume of food and are not easy to work with in relation to larger, bulkier items. You would be able to cook a whole turkey in my design. It would work in winter well unless you're at such a far north or south latitude you receive barely any sun. I'm not sure on pricing yet, but I plan to offer a package deal for the 4 in 1 system of somewhere around 350 to 400. The main cooler itself will be around 200 or so. I believe Yeti is the only brand that in the US sells a vacuum insulated cooler and their's retails for 800. If these sell decently, I also plan on making a smaller cooler for use in vehicles that works on TEC's and Solar panel+battery (with also an option to plug into the car). Also vacuum insulated (though, in this case except for the top) and can double as a night time radiative refrigerator (if you happen to run out of battery juice).
This is a nice design. There's been advances in coatings that can be applied to glass that allow heat to permeate in but not leave (one way heat transfer). Looks good for a picnic
Great production quality on: audio levels, lighting, camera angles and content. Thumbs up. Unfortunately SunTaste is keeping it a big secret on how to purchase a unit.
Thanks for sharing this experience with us Alan. The solar cooker is a very functional design. We don't have cork here in Zimbabwe but I want to try to make one out of wood. I like the way it opens from the back and uses real mirror reflectors.
Sorry for the slow replay on this comments. I am hoping to put out an update video here very soon now that I have had this oven for two years and still going strong. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for making this video. I've also contemplated designing a solar oven, and didn't know about this one. Have a heavier GoSun grill now.I do miss the roomier, box cooker shape though. thanks again.
This is incredible, but it seems it isn't widely available here in the states. That is a shame because this design is much better than many on the market.
Thank you for your unboxing video. I cannot afford such a luxury item. But I have the skills in wood working and engineering. I will build one and post up. Thank you again
Good cooker, delicious looking food and a good background music, there is almost nothing that's missing in this video for a viewer 👍 Thanks for sharing.
He walks, he talks, he cooks! He has a cute dog! Great video and nice sound track. With these 100 degree days coming up I'm looking to cook solar. Only to find that its not really the temperature that does it but the UV. So could have been doing this all along all year round LOL.
It's the best I've tried, hands down. Its a bit exotic for meatloaf but for some reason it just tastes better done in a solar oven. I have no idea why, but it surely does.
Everything about this video is really cool, insightful & uplifting. I love the details & enjoyment. Best video hands down... I mean up! Thank you for the work.
Man I don't know why the hell you don't have any comments??? I found your video fantastic and actually a bit therapeutic very well done! Your meatloaf looks absolutely awesome :-)
Love it. It looks like all the good things from my Solavore but maybe even better. Just a tip though, if the heat plate at the bottom is coated with black paint, the oven thermometer can scratch the coating. I put an edging of sugru around mine, which is supposed to be heat safe. Thanks for the video
i like it definantely something for me after trying the airfryer. maybee also a good tool for roasting dendelion roots for making coffie and boil water to get the roasted dendelion roots cooked after roasting. No energy use. this is good for survival without aver risking forrest fires or overcooking.it also may fry fries but only with a grill between the botton of the dutch oven also leaving the lit off with fry them dry. Just perfect , i get one of these
Please post a durability update when you think you have enough data. My concern is the cork absorbing the steam over time and weakening. Hopefully that will not be the case. Thank you
Sorry for the slow replay on this comments. I am hoping to put out an update video here very soon now that I have had this oven for two years and still going strong. I was pleasantly surprised how well the cork handles the heat and moisture. After rading up on the cork material apparently it is even antibacterial too. I've had zero problems with it breaking down from heat or steam. Very happy with it overall. Thanks for watching!
Hi! Thank for the video. I was considering getting a Suntaste oven. If you have had a chance to try it during this winter, what temperatures have you reached? Have you cooked anything during cold times? thanks
It works great during winter here. I usually do more soups, stews, roasted veggies, and reheating items in the winter but I can't tell much difference aside from adjusting the reflector angle a bit and it takes about 30 minutes longer to preheat in winter.
I think I was getting somewhere between 225F and 250F on this particular day. I don't have a set time but you can usually tell how long based on the browning on top. I usually let it go for at least two hours though. The grease cleaned up super easy with just a paper towel.
Could you please add the website, I wasn't able to locate the site. That oven looks great, and I appreciate the fact that it's ready to go right out of the box.
Sorry for the slow replay on this comments. I am hoping to put out an update video here very soon now that I have had this oven for two years and still going strong. Thanks for watching!
I'm really interested in this oven. I sound a website but no way to purchase. Maybe my phone blocked a popup. Can't fix it right now. Can you tell me where you purchased yours and how much?
Sorry for the slow replay on this comments. I am hoping to put out an update vide here very soon now that I have had this oven for two years and still going strong. The original cost was about $325-350 if memory serves but I am not sure what it is now because I think I may have a very early model. Thanks for watching!
Sorry for the slow reply...I think mine was about $350 when I got it but not sure what they are now. Highly recommended oven though. Mine is still working perfectly after two years. www.sunok.eu/home/contact-us
Sorry for the slow reply....I think this was the link I used to get mine. I've had it for over two years now and it does a great job, just as the day I got it. www.sunok.eu/home/contact-us
Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, this cookware was a perfect choice for the oven. It's dark metal, nonstick, lightweight but plenty strong. It's really just right to match with the oven. Mine had a pot and a baking tray that has held up very nicely.

I have to say Meatloaf is one of my favorite meals. This looks like a great solar cooker. Will work well here in Texas. So far so good after more than two years of service. Honestly, it's done so well I am thinknig about getting another one for the lake house so I don't have to pack it up and unpack it so often, and I wont leave it by accident lol.
This is the nicest looking solar cooker I’ve seen! I really want one. I’m in New Mexico and it’s such as shame to let all this sunshine go to waste! Thanks for the wonderful video. Assuming you’re in the USA? How much did it cost with shipping?
Oh if you're in NM you have prime solar cooking areas. I think at the time, it was about $350 USD. With supply chain issues and staff shortages from Covid, I have no idea now though.

Hi, are you located in the US? How is the solar oven working for you so far? Would like to ask few questions about the oven.
I've been so happy with mine as well. I am going to put out an update video here very soon as it's been well over two years and going strong!
So much care has gone into the design and production of these beautiful, sustainable SunOK solar ovens.
It's definitely a nice design, and has a nice look ascetically as well. Me, I'm obsessed with ultimate efficiency. Looks good for a picnic
Great production quality on: audio levels, lighting, camera angles and content. Thumbs up. Unfortunately SunTaste is keeping it a big secret on how to purchase a unit.
I think if you just go to the website you will see a contact info link...just send them an email asking about how to purchase.
Great off the grid solution. I'm gonna get one. Can't wait to try out my new toy!

Your meat loaf recipe is amazing !
Thanks for sharing .
Nice video, no obnoxious music and great information. Thank you
Thanks for making this video.
That meatloaf looks amazing. I like your recipe. Good review of the oven too. I'm adding it to the top of my wish list.
Yum, I think I'd love to try something like this. Especially in the summer when heating the house is not fun. Everything looks delicious and amazing.
Great video! I've had an interest in solar cooking but have never bought one. I might have to look into this one for sure!
Thanks so much Avi! :-)
You have bought your self a great cooker thanks for the demo. Looks delicious 😋
Thank you! I really like the oven. Your dog is precious! Leslye
He walks, he talks, he cooks! He has a cute dog! Great video and nice sound track. With these 100 degree days coming up I'm looking to cook solar. Only to find that its not really the temperature that does it but the UV. So could have been doing this all along all year round LOL.
I came here for the solar pan design...But man, I am loving the meatloaf addition..definitely going to try that recipe..😋
It's the best I've tried, hands down. Its a bit exotic for meatloaf but for some reason it just tastes better done in a solar oven. I have no idea why, but it surely does.
Researching a sun oven so this was helpful. Thanks for the post.
Great design. I think it might perform a little better if you had side reflectors as well.
Well done video. I liked the unboxing and meal preparation.
You should make more cooking videos.
Everything about this video is really cool, insightful & uplifting. I love the details & enjoyment. Best video hands down... I mean up! Thank you for the work.
Thanks so much! It's a labor of love!
Man I don't know why the hell you don't have any comments??? I found your video fantastic and actually a bit therapeutic very well done! Your meatloaf looks absolutely awesome :-)
Yummmmm!!! Definitely ordering this will work great in Quartzite Az this coming year. ☺️👍🌵
The dish is beautiful! Very healthy
Great video! I’m going to go check it out. Meatloaf recipe looks yummy too. Thanks for great video and easy explanation!
By the end of your video, I was drooling! Great job! Subscribed.
Love it. It looks like all the good things from my Solavore but maybe even better. Just a tip though, if the heat plate at the bottom is coated with black paint, the oven thermometer can scratch the coating. I put an edging of sugru around mine, which is supposed to be heat safe.

That's a great tip, thanks!
Nice, free cooking, love your fur baby
I’m glad I found your channel. I’ll definitely buy one. Thank you!
How can we go about buying one? I can't figure it out! Thanks!

definantely something for me after trying the airfryer.

Just perfect , i get one of these
Get some flexible cutting boards. You cut roll aim invert. Saves a lot of time , handy for bagging too.
Please post a durability update when you think you have enough data. My concern is the cork absorbing the steam over time and weakening. Hopefully that will not be the case. Thank you

Meat loaf is the best if it is do n e right.
Thanks for the recipe and the oven tip.
Damn, that food looks so good 👍 .. I think I'm gonna try to make one of this solar panels too

Please:
1) website where u bought that.
2) your recipes
Thanks, Alan! A few questions: What temperature does it get to inside? How long to cook your items? How did those grease splatters clean up? 🧼 ty
I think I was getting somewhere between 225F and 250F on this particular day. I don't have a set time but you can usually tell how long based on the browning on top. I usually let it go for at least two hours though. The grease cleaned up super easy with just a paper towel.
Wow cool solar cooker
I bet the guys over at CHAZ would love to get their hands on this😂
Quotation please. I like this oven!
You have an iggy! We have one named DIno. She is abdorbs. We had never seen a solar oven thanks for introduction.
Could you please add the website, I wasn't able to locate the site. That oven looks great, and I appreciate the fact that it's ready to go right out of the box.
I aplogize for the slow reply. RUclips was not sending me notifications. Here is the link I used - www.sunok.eu/home/contact-us
Wish you had a thermometer we could see the temp. Great presentation!
You should have an affiliate link to the oven! Great unboxing and review!
Can you tell me where you purchased yours and how much?
my wife asks for more videos of the dog please! also great video!
This is awesome. How amazing is this. I love this. I want my husband to see this
Wow, great staff
I'm having difficulty finding where to purchase one. Do you have a link? Thanks.
How much does it cost and where did you get it?
And comes in a box made out of sustainable evergreen trees. I just may go get one of these thanks.
Hoe much did this cost? and has it stayed in good shape over time. Would love another update review.
Sorry for the slow replay on this comments. I am hoping to put out an update vide here very soon now that I have had this oven for two years and still going strong. The original cost was about $325-350 if memory serves but I am not sure what it is now because I think I may have a very early model. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the nice video. About how much does it cost? Their site does not say the cost.
Nice video, I am planning to buy one, but was wonder it will work in cold western European climate
Very good! Didn't see a cost on their website. Sent them an email. Hope it's not too expensive. Thanks!
JUST WONDERFUL!!!!!
Only thing is missing here is an affiliate link, very neat video and interesting product.
thx :D
This was a great video. Where’s the love in the comment section?
Thanks for the great video!...
It works well! Maybe I'll build it!
I didn't try solar cooking before ... Is it worth the trouble ?
Where is this available in the US? As far as i could glean from Google it would have to ship internationally.
Can this be use as a dehydrator? It looks and sounds great.
100% awesome as a dehydrator. I dry herbs and fruit in it all the time and it works very well and very fast.
Very professional video!
Thanks for the recipe and video.
Will you provide the link for purchase and say what it cost. Thank you. This looks amazing.
Sorry for the slow reply...I think mine was about $350 when I got it but not sure what they are now. Highly recommended oven though. Mine is still working perfectly after two years.
www.sunok.eu/home/contact-us
Se ve muy bien , ¿ hasta cuantos grados centigrados de temperatura alcanza en dia mormal de sol?
No link on their website to purchase!
I had to send an email. How did you order yours and how much!?
I would love a link to were you bought it. Thanks.
Great video and thanks so much for sharing! Where do you purchased the solar oven? Thanks again!
Sorry for the slow reply....I think this was the link I used to get mine. I've had it for over two years now and it does a great job, just as the day I got it.
www.sunok.eu/home/contact-us
I'm very interested in trying the oven. Will you please detail the purchase info?
Thank You,
Michael Bowen
Sorry for the slow reply...RUclips wasn't sending me notifications. I got mine from here - www.sunok.eu/home/contact-us
Very cool, Man!
Thanks Alan, could you please talk about the cookware used in this video's.
Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, this cookware was a perfect choice for the oven. It's dark metal, nonstick, lightweight but plenty strong. It's really just right to match with the oven. Mine had a pot and a baking tray that has held up very nicely.
Awesome... how much are one of theses?
Please reply with a place to buy one. Link would be best. I have tried searching, but, perhaps my skills are not the best. Thanks.
Thank You. How long did it take to cook the muffins?
Well, I think I left those in too long...probably an hour and 20 minutes but it depends on how hot the ambient temp is really. Muffins and bread come out quite nice in it though.
How important is the angle of the back reflector? And if it is it important, how do you calculate the optimum angle?
Sorry for the slow replay on this comments. It is VERY easy to adjust and you will definitely see the sunlight inside the oven once you adjust it. Pretty much takes all the guesswork out of it and you can even cool it down if its too hot vey easily.
Can you please add the link to this product in the description
Good stuff! How much and where ?
I don't know how you haven't got any comments? Absolutely great video loved it what kind of temperatures does the inside of the cork oven get up to?
Sorry for the slow replay on this comments. i usually get 225-250 for most things that benefit from a slow cooking process. I hope to put out an update video very soon since its been over two years now and still ging strong. Thanks for watching!
Superb cinematohraphy 👍
It will be great if you can add info on how long you cook them.
Sorry for the slow reply....I hope to do an update video here very soon! :-)
How many minutes cooking time? Your main meal...
I want one. Good stuff.
Thanks Alan for the in depth unboxing and review. And featuring meatloaf. My kinda meal. Thanks also for sharing you recipe for the meatloaf. Looks very tasty. I have to say Meatloaf is one of my favorite meals. This looks like a great solar cooker. Will work well here in Texas. I find it hard to believe that it's now June 17, 2020 and this is the first comment with over 87 thousand views and almost 9k subs. I'm gonna search it out myself. A real bonus it comes with 2 cooking vessels. Thanks again! How's it holding up for you?
