About the plant Mac matchup
No way is Sonic even lmao
The best thing sonic has is his speed, but little mac can keep up with him without much trouble. Ledgetrapping sonic is also pretty easy for Mac if they’re coming from pretty far. Plus, he can use micro spacing with ftilt and Dtilt to completely avoid spindash at times.
@@joyconbro It's really only even if Sonic is continuously approaching and playing aggressively rather than hard camping. On top of having the mobility advantage he has a lot of movement mixups with spindash to throw Mac off and bait out various options from him. Sonic being one of the best whiff-punishers in the game doesn't help Mac's case either

Ever since 7.0.0, I’ve been playing more Mac with friends in competitive matches. Down tilt to KO Punch never ceases to makes me happy using it on them

How tf do u counter king k rool tho? Crown + cannon spam is brutal on lil mac
You honestly just wait them out, they’ll get impatient. If they don’t and insist on doing that the whole game, use any plats on the stage to your advantage. Crown and cannon have pretty rough endlag so you can safely navigate the platforms quickly and have time to shield if he hits you with a move that hits above him.
Don’t pick FD against him imo you can actually use the plat to stay safe or even engage if you have to as all his projectiles don’t angle

Thanks for this! I really appreciate having a more recent perspective on another Mac player's MU opinions! I also had no idea about being able to neutral b through Smash Manato damage! I didn't realize that art reduced the dmg on his moves, that's so helpful! I'm really curious about some of your choices though. I struggle a lot with a local Wii Fit player, and that MU feels *incredibly* oppressive as Mac. Deep breathing and wonky hitboxes seems to really mess with me, so I'm interested in your thoughts on what Mac has going for him that makes it +1?
I also feel like K. Rool is +1 for us, but I might not have played many good K. Rools, so could just be wrong on that.
I can't help but feel Chrom is -1 just due to our inability to reasonably pressure his shield without a LOT of grab mixups since he can *always* up-b out of shield and we have nothing safe enough on his shield to contest it or out space it. We do get a lot of ground back thanks to his recovery being very susceptible to being countered though.
I disagree with the +2, +1, and even, he is a bottom tier, he has 1 winning matchup (ganon) and maybe 5 evens imo

I wasn't this to be an actual serious matchup chart.
So, for the IDK tier, do you just not have as much MU experience to judge?
Basically yeah, besides a couple random encounters on quickplay I haven’t fought those characters enough to see how they deal with Mac.

K. Rool definitely beats Mac no question.
His neutral definitely beats Mac along with his armor dealing with Mac's attacks along with counter.
