After plugging it in, I did follow the directions that were included with the incubator for set up. If I remember correctly, the default settings are appropriate for chicken eggs, but you would need to change the days of incubation if you're hatching a different egg. As for humidity, I filled the first resevoir for the first part of incubation and used the vent to control humidity. I had to add water every other day. Toward the end of incubation is when I filled both water reseviors. Hope that helps! Next time we use it we'll have to show the set up.
Thankyou so much! Never seen this before, even tho I was raised on a farm, the chickens had “ their hiding places, and didn’t get to witness from the start of the chick “ opening” their escape hatch to fully see how they crack the egg! Your children are Precious!!
Great video! I just got that same incubator not too long ago and will be using it very soon. I have hatched in a similar incubator, the Brinsea Mini II. The one thing I would recommend is once you take the turner out is to add something with some grip to it, I use some non slip cabinet liner cut to fit so they have some traction. We had one chick with a broken leg and it may be because it was so slippery on the hard plastic and maybe slipped. Just a thought. Again great job!!!
Glad you handled them gently…love your room! I took a children photo shoot once, the mother told me many chicks died afterwards…kids handled them too rough…..never forgot that and now 30 years later I have chicks! The Nurture 360 holds 22, I saw you can stack to maybe 30… Maybe do not scrape incubator along counter…the noise might upset embryo chick… Really enjoyed your happy video!
What a Great Video. I have 2 of the same incubators, My first 2 chicks are hatching now. I date them as put them in and pull them out on day 18 and punt them in #2 incubator. Do you leave them in their for 2 days as some say to do? that seems not right to me. Thank You in advance. Have a Blessed Day
Hello, greetings, I have a question. I just bought that incubator new model but the same and I already laid my eggs but the humidity is very high at 71%. I don't know how to lower it. There is a hole for ventilation. I have it halfway and nothing and at the moment the temperature rises to 99.7 and 99.9. I don't understand if I programmed it for 99.5 because the temperature rises, if you can help me, thank you.
Did you take the hatched chicks out as they hatched? I thought you were supposed to leave them in there till all the eggs hatched so the temp won't drop from taking off the lid. I'm new at this. :)
That is in theory the way to go about it, but we had to remove some chicks that were knocking around the other eggs too much. We had a nice warm space for them to move in to and we didn't see it change the humidity too much.
I hope it's leveling out for you, however, make sure that you're using the vent (openning it more lowers humidity, closing more raising humidity). If your environment is very humid, you might have to remove some of the water in the resevoir to lower humidity. Or you would add water to raise it. I remember it took a bit for ours to get to where we needed it to. Good luck!
@@salomeacreshomestead I thought in your video you said you wanted to open the vent to increase humidity because it allows more air to get in?? Go to 6:25 of your video.

I have that same incubator. have you had problems keeping the humidity in the correct area? Then when it was time to lock down the temp went to 100 degrees. But I have had 5 hatch so far, with 3 more I'm not sure about
This was just the first time we used it, but did not have issues keeping the humidity within a good range. We added a bit of water every day and a half or so. During the last few days we opened the vent all the way, increased humidity, and the temp stayed consistent (did not go up to 100). Ours all hatched over three days, so maybe there's hope for your last three!
I had trouble keeping the humidity constant, I checked it several times a day and added more water then recommended. A nd kept the vent 3/4 closed up till the 18th day. I had 9 out of 9 hatch🐣👍
There are two reservoirs and both need to be filled. You fill second internal reservoir by filling the first slowly. Also, try to resist opening it. You’ll lose humidity every time you open it. I hope it works out for you!
Buendía disculpe mi hijo me dio de regalo una incubadora igual a la suya y solo saco tres pollitos no se si se apaga o como hacer o solo se desenchufa de la corriente le agradecería mucho me conteste por favor
The chicks absorb the yolk for calories and liquids, and can survive without food or water for around 48 hours. When chicks are hatched by a hen, they stay under her for the first couple days before she takes them out to learn to eat.
@@salomeacreshomestead I have left my chicks in the incubator overnight because they weren't dry at 1am when I went to bed. They ended up in there for about 18 hours total. I might have left them longer because they were just fine. But it was getting crowded with 4 having hatched and 5 eggs still going...
The incubating process is 21 days, and they can be candled usually any time after 7-10 days. Typically you don't candle them for the last three days because they are orientating themselves to hatch. We were unsure if all the eggs we were using were fertilized.
You didn’t show setup of the incubator ?? Did you turn it on and just use preset or did you set timer how did you do hunidity

We definitely learned a lot ourselves watching it for the first time!
Thanks for the video we are on day 7! The kiddos are stoked!
I hope everything worked out. It's such fun thing to do with kids!
This is a great incubator, love mine
Same! We really have no complaints about it.

Super awesome job
Love the video I bought the same thank you better and it worked perfectly

Me encantó este video 😃
¡Muchas gracias! Gracias por ver.
I just finished my first hatch and got 10 of 12. It all worked well but the 2 I lost were able to get in the water in the center and drown.

We did not keep them in for two days - just until they were dry. After about an hour or two we move them to the brooder.
I had 2 hatch today while I was at work...they were the only 2 in there, and there in the brooder now....

Do you have to fill both slots of water or keep it still one half on the last 3 days ?

You can take them out as long as they are dry

What's the ideal temperature supposed to be?
95-100 Fahrenheit, humidity should be above 45, it says it on the instructions

Incubator price kata 10 eggs ka
Hi, I work 12hr shifts and was wondering if my chicks hatch in the incubator while I am at work would they be ok when I get back home? Thanks
We pull our chicks out once they are dry and fluffy, but they can safely stay in the incubator for up to 48 hours.

@@MariaRamirez-jx4jv We had no problems taking them out once they were dry, but you can also leave them in if they seem to be doing fine.
you can candle them after 24 hours and see if they are fertile, it happens that quick. Although, that is much easier with white eggs.

No, we didn't see a change.
Just curious cus my landlord says I'm using$400 of electricity cus of it
