    We installed a 2 manifold system in our Bungalow we renovated, 1 for solid floor screed etc. and 1 for timber floor, which we insulated under the trays. Whole house is underfloor heated with zone controls and individual programmable thermostats in each room, the lounge, dining area and kitchen are open plan with 3 thermostats in these areas. We leave it on 24hr a day at a reduced temp. It is superb and highly efficient. Wanda designed the layout for us and provided a plan layout which is easy to follow, they specified all pipe work, controls and manifold positions and we did it all ourselves just myself and my wife. Highly recommended, will not ever fit radiators again. Superb.

    Hey, thanks for the video.
    1. Do you think feel the floor gets cold after you have turned off the under floor heating? Like does it stay warm even after 2-3 hours after under floor heating is off?
    2. What temperature do you run the UFH?
    3. Do you think leaving the UFH at like 30 degree all the time will be costly?

    Yay! so glad you did this review, it's super useful! Definitely keen to use this system ourselves. Have you integrated your radiators with their TRV valves or are they completely seperate?

    • @MegC
      @MegC  7 месяцев назад +2

      Aww yay glad you watched and I hope that it’s somewhat useful! Our radiators and the valves are all completely separate. They’re linked to our boiler using Honeywell thermostat. And then we have a separate thermostat just for the underfloor heating. I didn’t know they did their own valves! How does that work? Is it so they’re all on the same thermo?

    • @RestoringNumberFour
      @RestoringNumberFour 7 месяцев назад

      @@MegC Super helpful, thanks so much! Yes, they're like smart valves that you screw onto each of the radiators, and then you can control them on the same app as the underfloor heating, which is pretty cool! I think we're going to try them when we get the system, so can let you know how we find them!

    Im getting crazy prices to dig up and insulate the floors and to do a wet screed ufh system.
    Currently have no insulation in the floor, do you feel it would be ok to install this with no insulation and does it heat up quick and cool quickly due to no insulation??
    Thank you

    So glad I came across this video! Very informative first hand experience. Thank you for doing this video. We are currently going through this process with the whole ground floor of our house. Do you also wish you installed the UFH upstairs as well?

    Great video, thanks for posting this. I'm about to install the Wunda Rapid Response boards across the ground floor and am also thinking a mix of engineered wood and tile for the floor finish. Did you glue the engineered wood directly to the boards as Wunda suggests or did you screed / level first (if so how deep)? Thanks in advance.

      Hi Chrissy - we are now in the same process. Did you get it installed or you did DIY? I am less confident myself / lack capacity with young kids.
      Equally I feel like many trade people do not understand what this is, and have been quoting very high amounts for installation. 2.5x supply costs.
      Let me know please your experience

    You don't need to be a gas safe registered to alter heating pipe work, you can do whatever you want other than take the front of the boiler off, service the boiler, touch any of the gas pipes.

      Hey! Yes so I filmed this video 5 months ago but we’ve had it installed for about 14 months now. Now that it’s cold again we’ve got it on in the evenings and it’s soo lovely and warm and cosy! Still just regret not doing the whole downstairs tbh! Hope that helps!

    Only 3.2k all in all for a 50m2 surface? Did I understand correctly?

    • @MegC
      @MegC  4 месяца назад +1

      Hello! We’ve just checked our quote and the actual amount was - £3,360 for supply and fit. It was slightly less than 50m2 because it didn’t go under the cabinets. And these prices were based on 2023 prices in Cardiff. Hope that helps 👍🏼

      @@MegCHi Meg - do you know roughly how much was the fit only? We have purchased the products via Wunda but when I’m trying to get it installed, one or two people have given super high quotes (almost 2.5x the cost of supplies). Many thanjs

    • @MegC
      @MegC  Месяц назад

      @@kawasey Hey! So, this just a rough guess as our installer may have been able to grab cheaper prices than us, but we got a direct quote from Wunda for the materials for £2300 and we paid our installer £3300 for the lot. So roughly £1000 for installation. I hope that helps - we are based in Cardiff so not sure where you live, that could be driving up the cost. 🙂
