the target shape seems to follow the shape of the bottom... why is that? 15:51... all the targets look like extensions of the bottom humps,.,,

This is a high/wide image in 20 feet of water and the area around the barge is not that bumpy. The reason the targets and bottom are moving together is due to the swell and motion of the vessel. If this vessel would have included an SCX20 Satellite Compass, the effect would be compensated and eliminated resulting in the bottom remaining flat. This is because the Furuno TZT3 has an automatic Heave Compensation feature that removes the effects of the vessel’s motion on the water when Heave information is available. Watching the video, you can see that the bottom and fish are moving with the swell.
