    I'm new to this world, and this exploration of Smith Waite decks and. your journey with them has been helpful to me. Thanks!

    I love all your videos, Ive never really connected with RWS original, but my friend bought me the Centennial and I must confess i like it more now. I hope everyone one gets on board with this tag. best wishes Gxx

      Thank you 🥰 It's a deck that means a lot to me because I learned with it, but I know it isn't to everyone's taste!

    Loads of food for thought here! I definitely feel like my journey with the RWS isn't 'done' - which sounds silly, as I don't think we're ever 'done' with learning tarot, but I feel like I'm going to circle back round to it in a big way in the not too distant future.
    My first (and currently only) RWS was the Centennial in a tin. I don't read with it though, and have been considering back and forth between the Albano Waite and the Radiant Wise Spirit to get myself a 'real' Waite Smith to read with. Your Illuminated Tarot is so gorgeous! Thank you for sharing! 🥰

      Thanks for stopping by! I hope you find one that works for you - maybe it could be the Centennial in a tin! I think the Illuminated is beautiful, but the card stock is not for everyone. It doesn't bother me though ❤

    Hi Cat! I loved your video ❤ I have the same feeling of background noise having a collection bigger than I can "contain". I feel as if each deck occupies a certain space not only in my outer space, like my room, but also in my inner space, and there is some limitation in the inner one as well.

      Thanks for commenting 🙏 This metaphor makes sense. Our inner space needs harmony too!

    If a deck isn't working for me, I put t out of sight for a year, then I rediscover it, and try a month deep dive (= daily use, different spreads and activities, with and without guidebook) and if I still find myself not liking to read with it, I give it away. If there is SOMETHING that appeals to me, but it's not quite working, I keep it and try regularly - either it starts working out well fo me, or it starts annoying me so much that I finally can give it away easily.

    • @WildEarthWays
      @WildEarthWays  Год назад

      That sounds like a good process. I can see how giving it some time could make a difference. Up until now the decks I've given away were ones where straight away I knew they weren't going to work, which is quite rare. Thanks for watching!

    I can sooooo relate to every single thing you spoke to in this video (I somehow have 6 different variations tbh 🙈🤦‍♀️) and have STILL yet to truly use it… I feel as though should absolutely get rid of at least, SOME of my RWS decks but have yet to do so
    Ughhhhh…. 🤦‍♀️😩🤪 feel like I’m just trying so hard to love something so pertinent & influential to tarot today (and love and respect Pamela SO very much) but the images don’t resonate with me… regardless, keep us posted cuz I don’t have a clue what to do either 😂🙈

      I don't think you have to connect with this deck if it doesn't speak to you. I personally don't use a certain other major tarot system because it really doesn't appeal! In the end, I gave away the Centennial, and the Llewellyn and Radiant Wise will also go. But who knows if I'll end up finding another version to try 🤦‍♀ Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

    I also really like a good border on tarot decks. Especially if they’re hand drawn like Pamela Coleman Smith’s were. My first RWS was the borderless centennial before I realized they artificially extended the artwork. It was also in that surge of everyone starting to clamor for borderless cards and influenced by tarot tube. I debate rebuying the bordered version because it annoys me so much, but, like, do I really need two versions of that deck.

    • @WildEarthWays
      @WildEarthWays  Год назад

      Yes, it's funny how what we're looking for changes. Maybe the art work on this deck works with the borders, because it doesn't really need the extra space. Thanks for sharing! 💚

    My first RWS deck (in the post on it's way to me) is the Groovy Waite with sparkles! I've been looking at the more traditional ones. I like the radiant wise best, but don't like the back design at all. Probably not that important but it's not the perfect deck...

      The Groovy Waite looks really fun - enjoy! It's amazing how many ways this deck can be re-drawn 🤩
