How Dumbledore Became Owner of the Elder Wand - Harry Potter Explained

- Hey guys,
Welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory. In this video, we’re going to be discussing Dumbledore, Grindelwald, Draco Malfoy, Voldemort, Harry Potter, and the possession of the elder wand.
Now, if you don’t know what the elder wand is, then I don’t know what books you’ve been reading or movies you’ve been watching. But, here’s a brief introduction to the elder wand, for the videos sake.
The Elder wand was the first hallow created, made by Death himself, and it was said to be the most powerful wand that ever existed. The Elder Wand is made of elder wood, and it’s core is the tail hair of a Thestral. It’s 15” long and has carvings down its length that resemble clusters of elderberries. With the elder wand, witches and wizards are able to effortlessly produce intensely powerful magic that others could only dream of. Possession of the wand also meant that you could produce magic which was not otherwise possible, this includes mending other wands that could not normally be repaired through magic. It’s insanely powerful, particularly in the hands of an equally powerful witch or wizard.
We see the elder wand pass hands on numerous occasions in the harry potter books and films, but there seems to be some misconceptions floating around about how the ownership of the wand is actually earned or transferred. Without going too far back in to the wands ownership, it belonged to the following owners:
Mykew Gregorovitch, thern Gellert Grindelwald, then Albus Dumbledore, then Draco Malfoy, and then Harry Potter.
We’re lead to believe that the wand also belonged to both Snape and Voldemort, but this was never the case. They had the wand in their possession, but they weren’t the true owners. The wand hadn’t chosen them.
So, if acquiring it and having it in your possession doesn’t necessarily mean that the elder wand is yours, then, how do you claim ownership of it? How does the wand CHOOSE you? Let’s first take a look at how the wand was acquired by each of the above.
We don’t actually know how Mykew Gregorovitch obtained the wand, but we do know that Grindelwald became the owner by stealing it from him. Dumbledore later defeats Grindelwald in a duel, and becomes the rightful owner of the wand himself. Many many years later, Draco Malfoy disarms Dumbledore, and becomes the new owner. Then, Harry Potter trods along, and snatches the wand for himself. Harry Potter only has the wand in his possession for a short period, before disposing of it.
So, we can see here that the wand transfers ownership in a couple of different ways. Where it was previously thought, particularly by Voldemort, that gaining ownership of the wand required murder- all of the above contradicts this. And this was one of Voldemort’s fatal errors in his battle against Harry. Just because he had the wand in his possession, it didn’t show allegiance to him- it showed allegiance to Harry.
Many believe that because Grindelwald STOLE the elder wand from Gregorovitch, rather than killing him, he was never the true owner. This would mean that Dumbledore, who acquired the wand after defeating Grindelwald, wasn’t the true owner either. But this doesn’t work with the story at all, as it would mean that no one after Gregorovitch was actually a true owner of the wand. That’s why the notion of murdering to acquire it makes absolutely no sense.
Defeat isn't limited to death, which means that you can gain ownership by just overpowering the current owner. JK Rowling expanded on how the elder wand chooses ownership in an interview:
"The Elder Wand is simply the most ruthless of wands in that it will only take into consideration strength. One would expect a certain amount of loyalty from one's wand. So even if you were disarmed while carrying it, even if you lost a fight while carrying it, it has developed an affinity with you that it won't give up easily. If, however, a wand is won, properly won in an adult duel, then a wand may switch allegiance ... However, the Elder Wand knows no loyalty except to strength. It's completely unsentimental. It will only go where the power is. So if you win, then you've won the wand. You don't need to kill with it. But ... almost inevitably, it attracts wizards who are prepared to kill and who will kill. And also it attracts wizards like Voldemort who confuse being prepared to murder with strength."

Answer to title: Dumbledore out dueled grindelwald
But Tina disarmed Grindelwald long before the duel with Dumbledore. That would have made Tina the true owner of the Elder Wand. Perhaps in one of the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts" movies, Grindelwald will duel Tina and win back the loyalty of the Elder Wand.
Except that Tina was then disarmed by that other guy in Crimes of Grindelwald (I forgot his name), so then he's the master of the Elder Wand. Grindelwald will have a lot of work to do to regain its ownership before the duel with Dumbledore.
@@PhilBagels that is a amazing idea for a video
@jack rogers can you give the link of that video please
@@PhilBagels no he wasnt using the elder wand when he was disguised as graves
King_ rps draco didn’t have the elder wand when Harry defeated him and became ‘master’ of the elder wand
If Voldemort thought that Dumbledore was the owner of the elder wand he must have known that disarmament alone is sufficient in making the wand change its allegiance. He knew that Grindelwald was not killed by Dumbledore, yet Dumbledore possessed the wand by Grindelwald's admission. So why did he kill Snape?
Oh wow. Plot mistake
@Equinox Gaming yeah that''s absolutely correct😀
He used the wand but Voldemort thought that the wand didn't serve him right because he thought that snape was the real master and hence he decided to kill snape so that the wand could obey him
Voldemort was following the trail of the Elder Wand, killing everyone he thought had owned it at some point. Gregorovitch, Grindelwald, and had traced the wand to Dumbledore. I doubt that he was aware that Draco had used Expelliarmus before Snape delivered the killing blow, so he thought the wand's allegiance must have passed to Snape.
because he needed to truly earn the wand, a staged disarmament wouldn’t count
What if Roald Dahl’s Matilda takes place in the Harry Potter universe and Matilda Wormwood is a Muggle-born Witch?
Now that's an interesting theory, and I would like to see a video about that.
As a fan of both Harry Potter and Matilda, I would LOVE to see this crossover.
Woh..interesting!
Very good
*You just blew my mind*
It could make sense that only killing works. maybe gregorovich was the owner until Voldemort killed him and it became his. But that changes because Harry survives the avada kedavara of Voldemort and survived (he just conquered death) and the reason it was made was because someone conquered death so from the emoment the killing curse hit Harry it was Harry's wand.
It is a theory I have
It’s because Dumbledore is Death. Look up the theory. Makes perfect sense.
The wizard/witch has a deep connection with their wands and they can sense if it fully works for them. That's why draco said to harry that his new wand, though powerful, didn't somehow understand him. Same reason as Neville can't perform good magic as it was originally his dad's. Until he got to have his own wand in the later part of the series. This was wonderfully explained by the author herself. So sorry your theory about the need to kill makes no sense.
The thing is that Harry wasn't killed at the Forbidden Forest because Voldemort himself was keeping Harry alive. Remember what Voldemort did the night he came back? What were the 3 elements that brought him back and gave him a new body? He used Harry's blood, blood that was protected by his mother sacrifice. So, as long as Voldemort was alive he was keeping Harry alive too. At least this is the explanation it in the book. Dumbledore says it to Harry when they meet.

I don't know why, but whenever I watch Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts or any other related video I get the chills.

By the way great videos, keep up the great work.
Based on the stated theories about how wands transfer their allegiance, the Elder Wand has only had 2 true masters. The first brother, that Death made the wand for and Harry. "Death transfigured to a murderous wizard. The unknown murderous wizard crept to the inn as the eldest brother slept, drunk from wine. The wizard slit the oldest brother’s throat for good measure and stole the wand. That was when Death took the first brother". The first brother was not defeated or disarmed, meaning either the wand had no master or Death was it's master, until Harry became the "Master of Death" after collecting all 3 Deathly Hallows.
Yes but 1/2 blood HP broke it in half having no respect for magic or death, but; coffee shops.
While JKR never denied it was a strong influence, there is a situation in Lord of the Rings that completely matches Voldemort's error through misconception. When Pippin looks through the Palantir, after the Fall of Isengard, Sauron thinks he, Pippin, has the Ring and acts accordingly (sends a Ringwraith to investigate and when it is obvious Pippin is going to Minas Tirith an attack is mounted as soon as possible).
This is not the only case of misconception in LotR either. Denethor sees the perceived might of Mordor, again through a Palantir, and despairs. Sauron is confronted by Aragorn, via Palantir, and thinks HE has the Ring, turning his "eye" on Aragorn instead of guarding his home so Frodo has a chance to slip undetected.
What we see is always those characters who are immensely confident in themselves and suppose they could never be wrong about anything, usually make mistakes on otherwise simple and clearcut matters. Arrogance indeed is a bad guide through life! ;-)
Can u do a video about Dumbledore's childhood
There is a theory that I saw from Super Carlin Brothers where they said that when Tina disarms Grindelwald at the end of Fantastic Beasts, she becomes the master. Later she will be disarmed by Dumbledore making him the master not Grindelwald. This is how Dumbledore wins the duel. We also know that Grindelwald isn’t the master because he tells Voldemort that he was not the master.
We wouldn't really know so I hope the movies will be out soon. But based on what JK rowling said, the elder wand only stays loyal to strength. When draco disarm dumbledore, he was already very weak and at the edge of death because of the curse, so as simple as disarming him will change its allegiance. harry and draco were sort of equal with skill i believe however during the event of the malfoy manor draco was unstable with his loyalty as he no longer likes the treatment they get from voldemort and see harry as the only possible way out. Therefore, harry was a more powerful wizard.
In addition, dumbledore explained to harry that the duel between grindelwald earned him the elder wand. making him the true master of it. because he didn't want to defeat the owner, but want to save people from it. So even with equal skill and ability, dumbledore surely had the upper hand.
Grindelwald isn't because he *isn't* but that doesn't mean he wasn't
it was actaully Newt who disarmed Grindlewald first with the Swooping evil so their for its allegiance was to Newt Scamander
albus owned the elder wand since the three way duel between him, aberforth, and grindelwald
Grindelwald might have already have the elder wand by then, and he was defeated by ariana's obscurial that was then killed by Albus who then would have become owner of elder wand
Maybe that is why he refused to duel Grindelwald for so long, he didnt want to know if he was the owner of elder wand or not because that would truly prove he was the one who ended up killing Ariana
What if dumble door was minister for magic how would have things turned out if he accepted the title of minister for magic do you think the books and movies would have turned out far diffrent then the current timeline?
It deserves to be a new video.
Okay here's another two theories. Dumbledore like Voldemort was a great wizard so the magic he performed was due to Dumbledore's own strength not the wand. Gregorovich was never actually bested by Grindelwald, the spell could've easily missed. Therefore when Voldemort killed him the wand changes allegiance to Voldemort but with all but four pieces of his soul missing he couldn't bring out its full power because he was barely really living. Then when he faced Harry someone he saw as his potential equal the wand responded to that miniscule doubt he had in himself and switched sides. The second theory is much like the first but switch out Gregorovich with Snape who killed Dumbledore. The second one I feel can also explain why Dumbledore was able to win an unbeatable wand from Grindelwald who saw Dumbledore as a better wizard than himself.
The wand goes where the story needs it to go, and whatever mental gymnastics we need to do to make it work is how it got there.
I’ve been following you for quite a while now. And I’ve got to tell you, video by video you improve man! Kudos!
Love this video, however the one issue is that if by simply disarming the wizard who owns the wand means an allegiance change, then Tina owns the wand since she disarmed Grindelwald (disguised as Graves, I think his name was?) at the end of the first Fantastic beasts, and we know the wand was in Grindelwalds possession at the time of that, so wouldn’t the wand choose Tina since she disarmed Grindelwald? It’s almost like the whole Harry and Malfoy thing, Malfoy didn’t HAVE the elder wand with him, because it was in Dumbledore’s grave, yet when Harry took Draco’s wand off him, the elder wand then answered to Harry....so why doesn’t the wand fail for Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts?
I heard other theory that in fight between Grindewald Albus and his brother, sister of Dumbledore stepped in disarming all off them, obtaining ownership of the elder wand and then got killed by a spell from Dumbledores wand, making him the owner, which made it impossible for Grindewald to beat Albus later on
Funny how a wand knows when your learning/training with spells like exspeliarmus that it shouldn't change allegiance, but when your fighting a duel it knows you lost?🤷♂️
I love how all of these theory channels have their intro very similar to the original Harry Potter music but not quite because it’s copyrighted
I wonder if there's a more powerful wand than the elder wand because Wizard history tells us that Merlin used wandless magic but what if Merlin had a wand but he didn't use it that much.
Uhh it was already explained. Its possible to use wandless magic but only the most disciplined can achieve it.
Magic is chaotic and hard to control so they use wands to focus that power
You see examples of wand less magic by harry when he blows up his aunt when he gets really angry
Or like when Ron is really depressed from the breakup he makes it snow.
Tina Goldstein got Gellart's wand during the first Fantastic Beasts movie. Would that also count?
he wasnt using elder wand when he was disguised as graves...he was using that poor graves wand
Voldemort was the owner.
You can only get the Elder wand when you kill or disarm the person .
So Grinderwald wasn’t true owner as he stole it.
But when Voldemort killed the guy who had it before Grinserwald he was the owner.
It just didn’t work for Voldemort because he wasn’t a pure wizard as he divided myself into those things.
TFS Grindelwald was the true owner though he stunned Gregorovitch and stole the wand from him taking ownership. There’s been no mention that a wizard can’t use a certain wand just cause they split their soul into horcruxes
paul parker Grimderwald didn’t disarm him. He just stole it and jumped out of the window.
@@tfs7033 and didn't he hit gregorovich with a spell? Also sorry late reply
I always love to think about how the possibility of Dumbledore being death itself is not seeming too unbelievable, he had all 3 deathly hallows and seems to be infinitely powerful and knowledgeable. When he is "killed" he still knows where he is and somehow gets into Harry's head. But I don't know... Tell me what you guys think of this in the comments please
Is the elder wand the only wand that works like this? Do other wands that are disarmed in a duel technically gain the winner as a new owner, BUT because of the sentimental bond they don't change their allegiance to the winner?
Why doesn't killing the owner count? Gregorovitch was killed by Voldemort and he(as I think) was indeed an owner of the wand till the night in the Forbidden forest when he killed Harry. As Voldemort was afraid of death but Harry willingly sacrificed himself, he became the worthier of the 2 and the wand changed its allegiance, perhaps?
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I really wanted to see how powerful of magic that Voldemort could have performed with the Elder Wand had it truly been his.
He would slaughter everyone at Hogwarts like they were nothing but target practice.
Bellatrix proved that point.
😂
When are you going to make 5 most powerful ravenclaws
Love your voice and your Mic.
BTW may I know how'd get all the history papers?
Okay so this is my personal theory on the elder wand:
It's made from elder wood and thestral tale hair. Thestrals and unicorns are opposite, so it's safe to assume that it applies to their respective cores as well, so I reversed all the properties of the core:
_Thestral tale hair is the best core for a wand, creating a wand more powerful than any. A wand with a thestral hair in its core is the least faithful wand that can be made however, it knows no loyalty and will only pledge its power to the most powerful witch or wizard it encounters. In addition to this, the wand may sabotage or weaken the magic performed if it deems you unworthy of its true power._
By this theory the elder wand *is* the most powerful, but if you're too weak, then the power is weak. This explains every owner change:
Gregorovitch got it stolen by Grindelwald, who was more powerful, and stunned him. Then he was the wand's true owner, until he dueled Dumbledore. Here the wand realized that Dumbledore was more powerful, so weakened/sabotaged grindelwald and Dumbledore won the duel, becoming the true owner.
Voldemort was less powerful than dumbledore because of his ripped soul, so it stayed by him.
Then, Draco disarmed Dumbledore, but this *does NOT* mean he was the owner. He'd be too weak from the start. And Harry disarming him means nothing. If it stayed by Draco's side like that, it'd mean that it's extremely loyal but just defeating the owner makes the change happen, which contradicts the thestral tale hair core description.
Voldemort took the wand from Dumbledore's grave, but because his soul has been ripped apart so badly, the wand deemed him unworthy of its power.
When Harry went to the woods, he was more powerful and the master of death being in possesion of the other deathly hallows, so he was deemed worthy, but because the wand couldn't sabotage Voldemort, it mainly just knocked him out.
Then, when he dueled Harry, the wand turned on him now since it could, and Harry became its true owner, then put it back in Dumbledore's grave. Now, I think that Harry, the one who unified the deathly hallows, will stay the owner until he'll die, and then will start its search all over again.
It’s Bc the eldest brother “asked for a wand more powerful than any in existence”
That doesn’t means Wands that are crafted after that day cannot be more powerful 💡
It would have been hilarious if Draco had discovered he was the master of the elder wand. Maybe it would have given him confidence to reach his true potential. Magically, Draco is very talented, but being just lacked confidence. Mainly due to bullying from his father and Voldemort.
You forgot that sin e harry took dragos wand and was master of the elderwand, tina should also be the master after fanatsic beats because she kinda did the same

So, Rowling also cleared with the single answer that, why did not Prof. Snape lost his wand's loyalty at the Shericking Shack when Harry cast Expelliarmus toward him.
Wandlore is phenomenal... 😍
Love your vids I just got the Harry Potter book and started reading !
But when Harry disarmed Draco, the wand was physically with Voldemort. I take it the wand doesn’t have to be physically possessed?
Right, wands somehow sense wizards (remember, the wand chooses the wizard). So, the elder wand somehow realised Harry bested Draco the moment it happened, it neither needed to be physically touched by any of the two nor to be near them.
How about ranking the most powerful wands in harry potter? (not like harry's wand, etc, etc, but more like phoenix core wand, or thunderbird core wand)
I've never been this early lol
Stealing the wand transfers ownership? Surely Snape taking the wand after dumbldores death is the same as stealing?
I thought that Dumbledore won the Elder Wand by beating Grindelwald in a duel. The previous owner of the Elder Wand didn't necessarily had to die but they had to at least win a duel with the current owner in order to win it.
Could it be that since we do not know how Gregorivich came to possess the wand that no one was the true owner until it came into the hands of Harry as he is a decendant of the Peverill Family?
I have a question if the elder wand was made with elder wood and thestral hair , why didn't they just make a new wand????
It's not just the materials, it's also the skill of the wandmaker.
Zeina Sherif
And it was not only done by just anybody, it was made by death himself! Can‘t copy that.
@@berndheiden7630 Well, that's according to legend. Even in the books, they say the Hallows were probably made by the Peverell brothers themselves, but they obviously had some legendary skill at making magic artifacts. But either way, yeah, it ain't easy to replicate their work, even if you've got a stick of elder wood and a thestral tail hair.
SO SNAPE? MY ALAN RICKMAN DIED FOR NO REASON?
In the book, Harry puts wand in safe. Because elder wand cannot be destroyed. So it will be a cool to see more of that.
When I actually think I’m first but doesn’t say first, but you have nothing to say so *Hello there*
We both first u where the first to watch the video and iam the first to go to the comments
But when Dumbledore dies, the wand is burried with him. Harry disarms Draco later in the mansion but its not the elder wand hes using right? Since it is still in the grave.
And then Voldemort opens the grave and takes the wand wich should still be loyal to Draco and not Harry or not? I dont get that
I think because the wand is not accepting Draco as he was defeated by harry
Can anyone tell me:
1. How did Grindelwald shoot a stunning spell at Gregorovitch and hit him? Shouldn't the Elder Wand refuse to harm its master?
2. Why Voldemort's killing curse didn't rebound at the forbidden forest when he tried to kill Harry since Harry was already the master of the Elder Wand by that point?
3. Does Narcissa Malfoy have great occlumency skills? Why doesn't Voldemort send Bellatrix to inspect Harry at the forbidden forest?
The things rowling said about wands in general do not seem to apply to the elderwand entirely. You gain the allegiance of the elder wand through strenght but it is not clear, what the allegiance of the elder wand really is about, the most common assumption is, that the elderwand works like a normal wand till you get the true owner, then it becomes truly legendary and "enables" the most powerful wand in existence.
1. If the elder wand works as assumed he was able to use it against the owner, just not in the "special" way. Grindlewald couldve used his own wand or cast the simple "stun-spell" without a wand, this is most likely possible because Grindlewald is described as one of the most powerful wizards of all time. Grindlewald couldve also known that killing the owner of the elder wand with the elder wand is not possible and thats why he only stunned him ( He doesnt care if he has to kill someone or not, sparing a life doesnt match his style)
2. Harry did not cast any spell that collided with the deathcurse outgoing from Voldemort, harry also wanted to die, thats the reason the wand did not swap his owner after harry got fried and probably the reason it didnt resist.
3. Voldemort trusts Narcissa because she is a malfoy + If harry survived he might have feared that harry could potentally kill or harm bellatrix, his most loyal and probably highest ranked servant

What if Dumbeldore never wore the Gaunt's ring?

Harry borrowed Hermines wand when it was his turn to watch (guard) the tent in the woods. Please explain how and follow your videos line of thought.
If you don't know what the elder wand is, I don't know which book you have been reading!
Made me laugh so hard.
I always believed Gregorovich was never an owner of the elder wand as we don't have the information on the means by which he acquired it. So Grindelwald stealing it from him doesn't make him an owner either. So it is well put in the video that the Elder wand has a strong wizard as a master than just the one who has it in his possession.
It is strange that there is no history of the Elder Wand being in the possession of a Witch. Always Wizards.
So if the wand is able to win every duel and not lose how did he win it in a duel then ?
Wait the elder wand is supposed to win all duels then how did grindelwald lose to dumbledore in that duel when he had the elder wand against dumbledore??
thanks for video
I think Grindelwald was never the owner of the wand. Dumbledore however, had time and would have found a way to change it's ownership to himself between the Grindelwald fight and beginning of Half-blood Prince.
Bur since grindelwald stole the wand, he didn't win it or killed gregorovitch, how did the wand's allegiance shift to him. Also if only disarming someone is the case then, in POA remus disarms harry.,harry disarms snape, so the their wand's allegiance should have shifted. But that doesn't happen, explain plz
he somehow stunned gregorovich before he left from his shop. as for the POA, i can't remember who disarms who as per the books. But as per ollivander the wand stays loyal to its owner as it chooses the wizard. that applies to most wands. however, the elder wand is a unique one as it is loyal to strength.
Can you do a video What is Newts SCamanders patronous
Anyone who watches the movies would already know so this video isn’t needed
Can you please do a video on what makes the Elder Wand so powerful? The books and films don’t really give a satisfying reason.
@jack rogers created by death himself? Death is not a being, its something that naturally takes place. So that doesn't make sense
@jack rogers so explain to me how can something not a being or matter, but something that happens, create anything, doesn't make sense at all
Death was such a savage. He was so bored that he created things that could stop him from doing his job
The 1st guy to have the elder wand got killed while sleeping, why didn't he put a powerful spell around him ?
The fact dumbledore kept the wand the entire time and gave it up in the end just says that dumbledore is the most powerful wizard ever.
I'm hoping VERY hard they won't mess up the battle between Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
Harry didn't even use a spell to disarm malfoy he simply used the strength of his arms to take Malloy's wand from him and apparently the elder wand was aware of this even though the elder wand was at a great distance away but what is funny is how both wands abandoned malfoy at the same time talk about confusing I mean who would have thought of this if they didn't tell you? Lol
You should do How do you make a wand video
I thought Harry reburied the elder wand with Dumbledore...
Yep. In the book. In the movie, he destroyed it. Wtf.
@@elias69420 in my opinion, destroying it was better.
Just wondering is this still SWT and he’s doing a accent or is someone else speaking?
It's someone else, his friend. They both run this channel. Star Wars Theory will occasionally voice in some of the videos. Here is the video about this other other member: ruclips.net/video/Cpmb8eDe0kg/видео.html
Well, then i can't find the reason for draco getting allegiance from the elder wand, having neither strenght nor true will to kill or defeat one of the real owners...
If disarming charms works then why boldemort kill snape??
I think, I _think_ it was because he won the duel against Grindelwald?
Now how Grindelwald was the master of the wand while he fought Dumbledore is a more intriguing question.
Either he stunned gregorovich then stole the wand, or he stole the wand then stunned gregorovich when he was off guard. dumbledore and gregorovich spent much time researching about the hollows, for sure he knew how to get its allegiance without fatal damage to the previous owner.
I thought that it was impossible to lose but dumbeldor defeated grindelwald when grindelwald was the owner how?
In the book, Harry didnt disspose of the wand, he put it back in Dombledore's grave, so he could go and take it and use it if he needs to
you got the 1st part right. However, the reason he put it back in dumbledore's brave is because he doesn't want to possess any greater power. He wanted to live as a normal wizard's life. with that, no reason for him to take it back whenever he pleases.
Thats not what i said, was it, i said if he needs to
well, you have a very different defintion of "use it if he needs to." You made it sound like harry made dumbledore's grave like a deposit box that he can open "if he needs to."
Well, that wasnt my intention, but i see what you mean
Snape never had the Elder Wand in his possession. It was buried with Albus Dumbledore.
hi
am a harry potter fan thx for all the information
Got a ques....
Dumbledore was born on 1881 and grindelwald on 1883.......albus dumbledore died on 1997 and grindelwald on 1998 ..... The question is when Dumbledore died he was above 150 whereas when grindelwald died he was 115..how??
@jack rogers what about Google
I got a bit confused. Snape killed Dumbledore.....but somehow Harry gets the wand from Draco. But how does Voldemort get the wand?
@jack rogers I am in the middle of #5. Lost track. Have not seen the movies.
Does stealing make you the owner?
Grindelwald stole the Elder Wand from Gregorovic, Harry stole Draco's Wand from him (but not the Elder Wand). No disarming, but physically taking out of the hands...There is a difference between own something and possess something...
I think, stealing doesn't change the ownership..so in the end, Draco ust hae been the true master of the Elder Wand
Harry did the right thing by destroying the wand. A weapon of such massive power whose alligence can change so swiftly and easily is too dangerous to be around.
His gay lover had the longest and strongest wand ever. Dumbledoee and him had the longest duel ever with their wands out, Dumbledore defeated him and siezed his wand for himself
gay lover?
@@Vel073 Gellert Grindelwald
I am the current owner of the Elder Wand. I said accio Elder Wand. About fourty four minutes later it blew a hole through the side of my house as it came to rest in my hand. I used it to cast an anti-accio charm upon it so dont bother.
Does anyone see that, in movie 4, did Lucius do that spell which saved Harry on graveyard. Just watch that scene again and watch background right before the spell appears, Lucius takes his wand, and Does something with it, maybe that spell. I haven't read the books so I dont know was that just a normal thing what readed in book, or is it an easter egg which is in movie only.
YER A WIZARD HARRY!!

@jack rogers I dont remember
@jack rogersthe spell was "Priori Incantatem"
@jack rogers ok, thankS
The disloyalty of the Elder Wand to its owner makes it very unreliable. Just one defeat and the Elder Wand no longer works for you.
Dumbledore defeated grindelwald even without the elder wand
Twist plot: Dumbledore was never the true master of the elder wand, He was just extraordinary
He never did. At least wasn't the true owner. He was just that strong.
Hoik mink kehimp ehik jink tuk àyk!
Super sweet!
So when Harry disarmed Snape in Prisoner of Azkaban, Snape's wand changed allegiance to Harry?
No only the elder wand changes allegiance like that, but if snape took harry's wand after defeating him it's possible it would have answered to him
Big Ben not true. Any wand can change allegiance when their owner loses a duel, most don’t however.
sooooooo voldemort owned it you are saying in this theory due to pure strength alone and not the normal rules. Makes 0 sense but it is what it is.
He probably just asked for it calmly
Who else thinks that Hermione and Harry should have ended up together and Ron with..... Luna? Or Ron and no one
