Agreed. I’ve seen her new start…she didn’t use it here (I think because of nerves), but her new start is beautiful, and it looks like her top speed is faster this year as well. In reality, this was about a 10.68 race today, but she shut it down before the line…ShaCarri doesn’t seem too worried about times, and I think it is she and her team playing a little game. In other words, they know she can run faster, and are saving it for appropriate times. This was definitely a 10.6 high race she would’ve gotten had she cared about the clock. I’m so proud of my girl!
@@mssha1980yup, and if I’m not mistaken, it’s only she and Shelly who’ve done it so much. Also, only ShaCarri and Shelly have run 10.7 twice within one hour, as well. By the end of her career, she will have broken Shelly’s 10.7 record, because Shelly usually only pulls them out for a big event…prior to 2021, running fast early didn’t matter to Shelly at all. ShaCarri is next level!

I was saying that while keeping Elaine in mind…I don’t think Elaine has run as many 10.7’s as they (not counting the sub 10.7’s). If I recall correctly, Shelly and ShaCarri lead on that board…I’m just not 100% certain.
Why is everyone overlooking the fact that they are not only from the same camp but they will be on the same relay team. You have to get the baton around though.

I believe if ShaCarri Richardson gets the same start like the 2023 World Championship finals and No show boat the last 15 meters, she’s easily a 10.5xxx athlete. If she gets a good start, she’s easily a 10.6. If she gets a good start and doesn’t show boat at the last 10 meters she’s a 10.5 athlete. I think Dennis Mitchell is going to tell her to stop show boating so she can break the record.

She ran 10.8 at pre last year but she has struggled this year with injury

@@lornalewis7262 Last year she ran 10.65s for the 100m at the JAM trials. This year she had some issues; injuries and got overweight so her training was slowed down. She has gotten over these challenges now and her coach last week said that she is in the same shape for the 100m like she was in at this time last year(2023). [RUclips: Stephen Francis Sounds Off re Olympics & National Trials, Television Jamaica, Time: 1:00 min-3:22]-this was what he said she was running based on her time trials.
She is definitely in 10.6 shape

T, you and I saw the same. Wow, ShaCarri was NERVOUS! I think she did what she should have done when nervous, which is take some off the start to avoid false-starting. I already know she has a great start this year because I’ve seen it. In this trials, it looks like ShaCarri is under a tremendous deal of pressure and stakes were so high for her, she truly held back tons. But, is it just me, or does her top speed actually look even faster right now than before? I noticed it in the semi finals and in the final…her legs are turning over faster at top speed. Also, MJ was very well poised, but we all know she’s a very confident runner. I’m especially proud of TT Terry, because myself and no one I can think of would’ve seen her on the team…she simply didn’t seem to be a factor this year, especially being injured. I see clear demonstration of great coaching and them trusting that coaching. By the way, just as I said in your last video…Aleia Hobbs is looking weird. It actually looks like she’s still loaded, or something…I’m so frustrated she didn’t make the team individually, because she should have run 10.7 also…I thought she would have gotten second.

TXT in an off topic did you listen to the newest interview with Stephen Francis done by kayon Raynor? He said shericka is in last season form as it stands after they had to fly in someone from overseas to help with the weight issues that she had earlier in the season.
Looking at her in some training clips she is trimmed and flying out of the blocks and if she is in the same form as last season then we might see a 10.6 at trials. 🤔

It’s just that we used to get excited over certain times thinking they could run super fast, but then they would test the wind gust which would clarify that it was helping them therefore it wouldn’t be treated as a true record break. Same idea if the wind was working against you! They take that into account too.

Yeah, I just hope Melissa can help ShaCarri with the start. Unfortunately, you can’t help an athlete with a top in speed . So I don’t think In return ShaCarri can help Melissa with the top end speed. You either got it or don’t. However, you can become better starting out the blocks.
Sha'carri only weakness is mental, and it showed at the trials. A strategic comment, gesture, or glance from a competitor could rattle her.

Sha'carri starts horribly most times and start really pushing half way thru the race. Once my jamaican girls gets a good start and finish strong we can get the gold! Her top end is not faster than Shacarri and that's a fact. You can have your favorite but speaking with emotions instead of facts is two different things.

Don’t put limits on people! I have to say we are yet to see Shacarri run a perfect 100m. I have seen Jacko run a perfect 100m, I have seen Shelly run a perfect 100m, Elaine as well but with Shacarri I still feel like her execution needs work! But the time will come when she puts a good 100m race from start to finish!!
No…I disagree. She has shown this year her start is amazing. Although her start was terrible this trials, I don’t think it was in any way indicative of what she can do right now, but was an issue of her nerves and starting slow as a precaution. I’ve never seen ShaCarri so clearly nervous in her entire career…that woman was NERVOUS, and even after the race was over, she looked so relieved she didn’t even get excited! Let’s not forget she still isn’t peaked, and also remember this is only her second 100M event the entire season! That team is still loaded. Also, I keep telling people ShaCarri does not run fast on this track when she tries…although other folks run faster here, she always runs slower on this track when trying too hard. She looks unprepared in this trials…just, she’s very confident in her top speed.

He usually gets things right for the Olympics & that's why since 2008 ALL the female winners of the Olympic 100m have been coached by him. The injured Elaine-Thompson-Herah (ETH) finished third in both the 100m (10.84s) & 200m ( 22s)at the JAM Nat Trials in 2021. And you know what she did at the Tokyo Olympics. She beat SFAP who had ran the fastest 100m time (10.63s) for the year

That 10.71 slowing down…. With +0.8 wind… take note of that 0.8 wind. This was the wind (0.8) that Shelly used to run 10.67 in Eugene WCH!! I am starting to think if Shaccari wasn’t faltering, the Jamaicans wouldn’t have won in Tokyo or Eugene! Shaccari gave them a chance but now she is back!
