Bucket list car. I’m terminally ill and unless GOD does a miracle I won’t be around long enough to buy or build. Beautiful work. God Bless you brother.
this is the first time in life I have EVER commented on a you tube video! I am compelled to express what i just saw in this video. So, first of all, this is by far the greatest in depth video i have seen on frame reinforcement. Not only that, the lingo that dude is using is straight hittin switches in the streets lowriding. I love the passion and appreciate all who keep the lifestyle alive. The only thing I'm mad about is that yall aint closer to Philly to work on my 64 impala conv. 4 pumps 10 batt. fyi, been lowriding for 25 years. keep up the good videos!
Emmanuel Ekeleme that's what started all this, hard to find any information or help with this stuff, I'm also working on several others that I will be posting soon.
Emmanuel thank you very much man. Im 37 years old and have been into the lifestyle since I was 16 years old. Definitley not something that you can just stop. I don't care how old I get, a passion is a passion no matter what.
Aaron Christensen I'm into another genre of cars you could say, but I love lowriders.. the time and effort put into them is amazing... I know cause one of my cars is in 100 pieces. Haha hey if ya can't get a low rider car get a bike , I did😬
Nice video! Im on the tail end of frame off restoring my 64 hardtop. I opted for air bags from BC Fab, you cant do as much with bags but hydros are just so heavy. I wrapped the X section of the frame on my car for a little added rigidity. Should work out alright.
What a great video. This is what youtubeing is all about, sharing that knowledge. Thanks for taking the time to put this video up guys. Very, very helpful.
Very, very informative. I have a64 impala convertible. I, unfortunately, cannot install Hydros on it because it would be a HUGE waste of money because of the roads in this city. But, hopefully, one day I can get the frame reinforced and toss switches on it.
very....very cool & informative video that addresses real world problems & solutions that can arise when tackling a tough mechanical task dealing w/ framework....nicely done!
Thanks for all the comments guys. Just an update, the frame is finished and has been filled and painted. Also, the adjustable upper control arms have been removed and replaced with OEM arms. They have not been extended or reinforced yet but definitely will be. Front end has been put back and as well as the rear end. Had to replace a rear main seal in the engine yesterday and new oil pan gasket which took up a lot of time. Also got the y-bone on Saturday and have installed it. Hopefully have the engine mounted today and maybe even the body back on the frame. Also, the battery and pump racks have been primered, painted and cleared with paint that was matched to the car.
It's true there are very few videos on wrapping a frame. Thanks for taking the time to make these. very helpful. I'm wrapping my first 66 impala frame and trying to make a few quick videos along the way. I'm looking for all the help I can get. maybe you could do one on molding the frame after reinforcenent? Thanks again man....
Do you have to have a full wrap on a 64 convertible because it has less support? Can you get away with a stress point reinforcement if you’re just doing fbss and no 3 wheeling or hopping.
Reinforcing the frame for hydraulics seems like the right thing to do. But how much does it cost to remove the frame from the body and reinforce the whole frame like in your video?
R D Rob working on it. Have several coming up. How to make removable battery racks, custom rear spring perch and reinforcement, installing extended trailing arms and how to make them work. Anything specific your wanting to know?
No nothing specific that I need. I just really enjoyed watching your video. I was always curious how they reinforce frames to three wheel. Now I see how it's done
Hello, I am currently doing a 63 impala hardtop to functional factory working vert conversion, and I was wondering if you know what the interior body structure for the vert looks like, I have the vert frame and windshield frame I just need to know and see what all else the interior structural integrity needs to have done to it! Thanks
I was wondering on some low riders I notice chains in the rear axle to the trunk I think and can you get the same affect using air bag shocks I think they are?
I only got the rear arches, front sides, and underneath the belly. Got 3 pumps 10 batts. Starting to notice gaps in doors and fenders. Somebody said sit the car on jack stands all 4 corners and it will restore the frame and close the gaps. Then box in the center of the frame. Will that help?
Gride Brougham I’m not saying that won’t work but once the damage is done, it’s hard to correct. I doubt doing that will fully straighten the frame. But give it a try, once it has straightened as much as you can get it, fully reinforce frame and fix whatever bodywork needed.
Thank you. Kinda figured it wouldn't go back 100% to specs. But If I can get it close, I'll box in the center span. My next build will be a frame off
those nubs u got welded to the rear of the frame for the rack. im sure most people weld the rack to them but have u ever seen anyone use them to bolt the rack in?
Actually those are removable racks, I just havent posted the videos yet. I will be posting the video in a couple weeks when the car is completely done. It will be a how to make removable racks and several other things.
fuzzy wuzzy we did a few now like that but haven't posted the videos, it's easy but time consuming to make it all line up right. We have some pretty cool stuff coming up, stay tuned
RC Jr depends on where exactly the are reinforcing, thickness of metal, and quality of work. But assuming they are using 1/4 inch since it’s just a partial wrap, and the welds are nice and the work is good, $1700 is a decent price. My suggestion before you do that would be to call Pit Bull Hydraulics and ask how much for a completed frame, they have them already done sometimes, just send them your donor frame and they send you a finished one. Not always but they are the gold standard when it comes to frames. Brent knows his stuff
They're mainly focusing on the front and rear axle, they're not removing the shell of the car. Thanks! I do plan on doing a little hopping and maybe three wheel.
RC Jr my advice is to find someone else that knows impala frames and Hydraulics to do the reinforcing. The weak points of the x frame at mainly from the middle to the back. Call Pit Bull
I looking into buying a 64 hardtop impala that is partial reinforced trail arms,a arms, side & bottom of frame. is those areas the main stress point for a 4 pump car? Thanks
Russell Harris Lowrider Hydraulics would've never knew. I have a 63 4 door belair i want to transform into a lowrider but couldn't find anyone in the city to do it. The shops i went to kept talking about airbags and I'm not a fan of that
Find me on FB and I’ll come with a few guys to take a look, worse case you’ll have some new homies that can help you get up and going. If you are not a part of Tennessee on Hydraulics page, go join and Message me.
So are u just pretty much putting plate steel where ever the frame isnt already boxed..or are u completely wrapping all 4 sides of the frame in plate steel
Marco Santa Cruz to do yourself, if you have all the tools and equipment, around $500 worth of metal and misc items. Having someone do it, $2500-$4000. Painting included.

Great job & video bro
any old car you must wrap the whole frame period
S.I. Thug that’s the right way to do it fa sho
What about if its partial reinforcement?
What a bout the Cold welding spot

Looking at 2500 on a homie hookup to 5000 but you can find one for 3000-3500 I’d do it
@@danieleckerman7099 i just got a 62 w mad frame cancer in the rear. good to know..

Do you box in the back in support
Will you reinforce the frame of a four-door Mercedes Benz for me so that I can cut the roof off
What do you charge to do a full frame wrap?
Look up 1959 olds guard beam frame, if you added those side beams I bet it would help out
Can i reinforce without removing the body.
Where are you located at. I just got my first lowrider ever. Lincoln Town Car & i want to do it right???
Clarksville TN
How much is it to re enforce the frame? More or less
good videos .can you make some video on how to install cylinders. there no videos on RUclips. Good job .

I like your videos! Can u make a dog leg video (rear three wheel) thanks .....
Naw you said it right the first time!!!!!!! LINCOLN

Good work

What size metal do u recommend to wrap frame
Where is ur shop good stuff man good information

Nathanael Pedroza it’s best to reinforce all sides if possible.

Great job on the video.
They were on it when he got it, we have to change them out, they touch the frame now with no weight on the frame.
Is 1,700 too much for a partial wrap for my 63 Impala? That's what they wanna charge me when they install my hydraulics?

Help save you time on welding the frame is to have an air blow gun by you each time you weld after quickly blow it with compressed air
Curtis Fisher
Rapid cooling after welding will cause the metal contract. If it contracts too much too quick, it'll end up cracking the weld.
Frank Rodriguez tell him ay!
So are u just pretty much putting plate steel where ever the frame isnt already boxed..or are u completely wrapping all 4 sides of the frame in plate steel
Easier to sell convertible frame get a ht frame add 2 body mounts and u don't have all the factory welded reinforcements in the way
how much is this project?
Marco Santa Cruz to do yourself, if you have all the tools and equipment, around $500 worth of metal and misc items. Having someone do it, $2500-$4000. Painting included.
Couldn’t bare the welding in the background.
Eliminate the background noise!!
just put air bags and ride, lose the wheels too. factory shit is nice
