Meet the wildest Suzuki Jimny in the world!
The team at Twisted Automotive have gone to town on this little Suzuki Jimny, and Mat’s about to see if he should add the same modifications to his own Jimny!
To start off, let’s take a peek under the bonnet. This Jimny retains the same 1.5-litre petrol engine, but it’s had a turbocharger added to it. As a result, the power increase has been boosted from 101hp to 165hp! The torque has also increased, raising from 130Nm to around 200Nm.
There have also been a number of chassis upgrades added, including some Bilstein dampers and an anti-roll bar at the rear. The car has also been lifted by 2-inches, along with having some chunky all-terrain tyres added.
When it comes to the design, there are a few minor changes, including the adding of decals and the bumper being painted to match the body colour. Either way, it’s still unmistakably a Jimny!
But once you step inside, there are a number of properly notable upgrades! For starters, there’s loads of leather added across the seats and along the dash, which is in a really smart black & brown two-tone effect. There’s been Alcantara added to the roof as well, to give it that true mini G63 feeling!
However, there are a couple of issues. For one, this is built on the van version, so there are no rear seats! And because of this, an after market infotainment system has had to be added, and it doesn’t come with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto!
So what do you think, is this Jimny worth the £60,000 price tag?! Or does the standard Jimny still reign supreme? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

This seems ideal for people like Matt who already own a Jimny and are of means. For them, the vehicle meets their needs, but they have very quickly reached its limits in comfort and on-road capabilities. If they still want to hold on to it after all that, doing some combination of the mods is a worthwhile investment. I certainly wouldn't go as far as this mod, but an upgraded modern head unit and more power out the engine would certainly be enough for me.

      @DontAttme 8 месяцев назад +2

@@ettchathis should’ve been more road focused but that can easily be fixed with lowered suspension and better tires for the road and of course the interior needs to be restitched to a higher standard. It should be more of an SVR style mod.

My Jimmy’s amazing and it’s not my first. So far, on two of them, I’ve spent a total of £9000 purchasing them. They’re both the previous version. So, that leaves £110,000 to modify them at these prices…. There’s a wonderful aftermarket for modding and improving the older Jimny. I’m going to stick with mine. As I don’t have all the extra dosh, I’ll just have to put up with having the best (and the cheapest) 4x4 on the market as it is 😅

No need for the suspension changes or those off road tires that would affect yours as daily driver unless you plan on venturing off of pavement as part of your plans for your car. So the only mod I would say right now is the turbo to give you some more ooomph! Maybe a larger one with more boost capability!

I’ve recently bought my self a 2023 Model Jimny top of the range and quite confidently say it’s probably my favourite car.
    - cheap on fuel
    - do all the labour myself
    - 1.5 so zero to no maintenance and very prone and extremely low chance of anything breaking.
    - quirky look with a nice modern touch
    - Big aftermarket scene
    - weight makes up for power
    - monster off-roader
The list goes on but really it’s a car that needs to be driven to be really appreciated.
( Side note ) I also own a 700whp death machine rotary and really prefer my jimny over it.

    1. As I want to keep my Jimny I will not add a turbo as it might shorten the life of the engine.
    2. Firmer dampers -done, as I want to keep the original ride hight. The firmer dampers were a very good purchase and driving experience. Firmer springs would add 40mm ride hight, which I don’t want nor need so I opted out on those.
Included in the damper purchase was a larger steering damper as well. Overall driving experience is a large improvement.

You could definitely tune that turbo mod so it is more helpful off road, which it probably already is seeing the torque. If it was any more powerful then itd be more like what you mentioned - just explosive power useless outside of maybe dirt track racing or something lol. But lower power overall but more torque than standard makes sense. The suspension setup and tires/track width could be setup more ideally for off road (or on-road i suppose too.) Wider fenders, tires, for all four or just rear etc. I assume the dampers have more off road settings too. And Im curious how the costs break down - seems quite high for turbos tunes and suspension, but that interior could be wildly expensive lol

Ive had my JB74 for a few years now, i basically ticked every option box at ARB 😅
suspension, front and rear lockers, bars, tyres and winch plus others.
Its gotten me everywhere i wanted and always exceeded my expectations.
Its also now a lot slower ttan the stock jimny because of extra weight, aerodynamic drag and likely lost a couple of HP because of the snorkel 😂
Ive always wanted a bit more HP, not a lot more but particularly more low end torque.
When off roading the kack of any usable low end torque really majes it tricky, especially in a manual.
I am considering a turbo kit as it will help a lot with power but im mainly interested if it will help with bottom end torque at all.
Ideally i would love a roots style supercharger, positive displacement, as it will provide forced induction at any rev, but i yet to see anyone doing that yet.

Love the video. I drove my Jimny 3600km on a road trip around South Africa and ended my trip at the Jimny festival in clarens. Loved driving my overloaded with roof rack, box and extra fuel on the roof. It reduceed the fuel combustion. I would like to know what the twisted average fuel consumption is.

For off road you can have disconectable swaybar links. Best of both worlds

That turbo sounds awesome! 60k on a jimmy that’s not the top speck though. Thank you for your honest review though Matt. I think I will have to nip into the show room and see it.

8.86sec 0-60 in a Jimny is insane!😅 But the ganges to the suspension, the slight lift and tires are worth it. The changes to the engine (longlivety), interior, the sticker madness and painted grille? No definitely not worth it. But still a nice result!

I've already got the Muddies, may do an Ironman lift eventually and probably a suoerchwrger when become reasonably priced.
