That wee 327 sounds more like a rat then a mouse, nice work!!! My buddy ran the same combo with fuelie heads in a retired dirt track raced 65 Chevy 2,she was a bullet off the line.
327 sbc, iron heads, cam is a solid rollor 300/308.... 255/262 @50 , .575 lift. Made by comp, its there only solid rollor they have listed for turbo/blower. Its a very tame cam, gentle lobes. Its a street cam. It bleeds the compression away, but builds good power in the upper revs. Down low its dead. They saybyo use it in only big motors
Not sure why you guys are saying he did such a great job driving...he grannied it off the line and speed shifter instead of power shifted it....4/10 at best
The trans doesn't wine much. It's all bran new autogear company gears, the oil has to well warmed up to wine alot. But in general it wines slightly, nothing much though
No. Its the same as the m21, the gear teeth are just on a different angle,(less angle) making tooth strength better and also giving it abit of gear whine. It is a regular syncro, like any old trans. Regulr 32 tooth brass ring
@@deansapp4635 how comes? A 2.20 gear with a 4.56 rear end gear gives a 10.03 starting line ratio which they say around 10 is optimal. With a 2.80 first gear, he would have a 12.76 starting line ratio.
I love that M-22 4speed gear whine, whoever drivin' that Nova, drove the hell out of it, killer shiftin' and down shiftin', HOT DAMN!!!👍👍😎😎
And , he has got that classic Hot Rod face ! lol .
Love it, takes me back to the good old days
Nobody gonna talk about that gnarly 2nd gear burnout? Listen to it with headphones on. You're welcome.
It's the 10th time I've listened it with headphones 😍😍😍😍
Nope. Just you two gonna talk about it.
Dear God let me be 17 again...ooh the memories!!!
That's banging some gears guy!
Dean that was a wicked 57,if you ran 12 he must of been in the high 10s!
he runs low 10s. stickshift car.
LOVE THE DOWN SHIFTS!!!!!

Your getting better.Nice and safe shifting. All good.Love the down shift at the end.Got to love that sound lol yaaaaaahaaaaa.
I had a feeling that was a 327 I love those engines
great sounding car, what cam were you running in that motor?

@@deantruax7202 right on. sounds great even with wider lsa makes me think about running a similar cam since I've got parts for a 12.5:1 355 sbc
@@colinjohnson7663 should work, my 327 is 11.3:1 with iron heads. If u have aluminum heads you could get away with it. Im pump gas 91 octane.
My garbage is a 114 lsa
You need a nitrous on the launch, you seem to have the traction to pull mid 11's if you didn't bog off the line. Damn good run!
What a beautiful sound!!! (Visually impaired car nut here, lol)
I always shifted better with a ball than a T handle.
T Handles and top loaders
Same.
SOUNDED SWEET !
Not sure why you guys are saying he did such a great job driving...he grannied it off the line and speed shifter instead of power shifted it....4/10 at best
Sounds great!
Impressing no one but himself, lucky Leroy got the drop n won!
i didn't notice where he said he was trying to impress anyone.
Maybe one day you will have a hotrod Pete, but I doubt it.
Different dial in. That’s all. But thanks for playing.
Little boggy out of the hole but badass after that!!!!!
Needs more Gear !!!!
hellz ya got my ear plugz in and can still hear that in the shop
Nice sound but I couldn't hear the M22 whine over the headers

Gotta switch to a m22, the rpm drop is perfect for my camaro, I have an m20 and from 3rd to 4th feels like OD LoL
This is an m22., check my other vids, sometimes it's deceiving, depends on how u drive it.
Damn y'all see the other car wheelie at 0:37
Had to look again. That car must have been nearly a second faster too
Got smoked from start to finish by that clapped out ‘57 ...
You mean the one pullin the wheels up?
says the guy who probably rides a segway
Benny how do you know it was clapped out? Were you there?
Hold on. Arent the m22 rock crusher dog box transmissions?

What motor? And what was your time?
327 all iron. 12.0 @117
@@deantruax7202 thats pretty damn good
So they call a Chevy IROC, they called the transmission of rock Crusher so what does the transmission do Crush The Rock oh, just asking the question
You actually typed this out and hit send? Ooof.
IROC was an acronym. Rock crusher was named because of the whine the transmission made, due to the cut of teeth on the gears.
Dodge called its Daytona an IROC too.
I thouhgt a rock crusher was no clutch shifting or is that a myth?
either way baby
And people think drag racing is easy
It's a serious challenge. Alot of effort and practice goes into before u hit the track, alot of focus it's much more than 12 seconds on the track.
Damm got your ass beat,,sucks when that happens
How much hp?
no clue. 420 i guess. probably 480 at peak on a engine dyno.
2.20 1st gear is way too tall
yes it is
What gear should he have?
@@dw8840 I believe around a 2.80.
