Excited to see how this bat stacks up. Worth mentioning the new grip taper, new gel in the knob, and the handle is apparently 15% less stiff compared to CatX. Any other details we can’t get from a spec sheet would be appreciated though (like actual weight vs product label).
this 29/19 weighed about 20.6 on the scale. But in the same vein as bats like the Tank and Bonesaber I think a lot of that weight is in the handle/knob. For example we took some break in swings with the new Meta Prime and it actually only weighs 19.8 on the scale but Lukas mentioned it swung heavier than most bats. I think thats because it has a very skinny handle and no taper so all the weight is out on the barrel As far as performance it was great. A little pingy so probably needs some break in. Not AS hot out of the wrapper as the icon was. But close enough and likely easier to swing for most kids as it feels much more balanced.
@@anthonygimmelli6959 similar enough. Think the bonesaber is a bit lighter I’d say. Probably categorize the bonesaber as a light swing weight and the X2 as a balanced swing weight.
What size and weight is the 2025 icon you have? My son has the cat x composite now 28/18 and wants the icon but I know his bat is very balanced and the icon is more end loaded but he has fast hands...I just can't find specs anywhere in true weights
My 10year old is smaller and I’m trying to decide between the BoneSaber or the CatX 2 Composite do you have a recommendation, is one hotter than the other you think?
Honestly both are very good. The Cat x2 comp swings what I would consider to be a medium to slightly heavy swing weight. The Bonesaber swings light. Lukas will play for a national team that plays very top level competition and we will see some kids already throwing mid 60’s at 10u. When we see that he swings something very light like the bonesaber. When it’s more average he likes the icon or X2 comp. I’d say it all comes down to just how strong the kid is and what kind of speed he is seeing. If you want the safer choice I’d say the bonesaber. Imo it has plenty of pop and is light swinging enough to be plenty forgiving in any situation.
hmm yeah unless they are a really big 9-year-old with sound mechanics I'd probably hold off on a drop 8. I think in a solid sized 10-year-old with decent power can probably step up to a drop 8 fine.

Based on your video, sounds like this is very comparable to the bonesaber. Would you agree?

Do you think it is too soon to transition a 9 year old to a drop 8?
