    • @ADRay1999
      @ADRay1999 6 лет назад +3

      Johnnn: that would be a good idea, but you must remember the Henry rifles are based on how the original Henry rifle loaded, adding a loading gate will just make it look like either a Winchester or Marlin also, the loading gate is a Winchester and Marlin trade mark just as the loading the cartridges near the muzzle of a Henry is their trademark

    • @Rubberducky1177
      @Rubberducky1177 6 лет назад +9

      @Andrew Dalton Ray That may be a reason they are not making loading gates, but I think it is really short sighted. I promise you there are many people including myself that won't buy Henry just because it does not have a loading gate. If they insist on having a tube loaded magazine, how about designing a gun that has both a loading gate and and their removable magazine tube. Then you have the best of both worlds and something uniquely Henry.

    I also wanted to say that the Imperato family is doing it right.
    I remember how years ago, Henry was a kind of niche manufacturer that made the AR-7 survival rifle and not much else.
    Once the Imperatos took control, they turned the company into a top notch manufacturer with good old fashioned American pride and quality products.
    As long as they keep this up, Henry will only continue to gain reputation, quality, and market share, and deservedly so.
    Well done!

Was in R&D in many gun factories for years and one thing that never happened is exactly what you accomplished. So many secret processes especially the barrel bore! Some factories would not let me see all processes because they were designed for military use. What's funny is that my designs were for military use and signed signed code of silence/classified. One thing I hate is the cheap box. I’d rather pay $10-20 more and have a official plastic Henry case for the big caliber’s. I think that would make the company really shine in superior quality and customers would fall in love for repurchases.

    As a toolmaker/CNC machinist with over 20 years working in different shops, this looks like a great little facility. You can tell the crew there enjoy their work, as repetitive as it might be. I recognize a lot of the equipment in the video too. One machine in particular was the Brother vertical machining center shown briefly. You guys bought that from Yamazen out of Schaumburg Illinois, and I used to work for the Hartford Connecticut office of Yamazen.

    A few years ago, I shopped around for a new lever-action rifle chambered in .357 Magnum. Out of all the manufacturers I looked at, I felt Henry made the best product for the money. There were other manufacturers who had cheaper or more expensive models, but none of them came close to the quality, ergonomics & aesthetics for the price. I ended up with a Big Boy Classic (lot's of beautiful brass & walnut!) that I absolutely love! It spits out both .357 Magnums & .38 special like you were shooting a .22 LR! Smooth & buttery! It's a rifle that I could hang on the wall as art & it's definitely something that will be passed down to my children.

      Bought a Colt .45 ("new" Series 70), not a Springfield Armory because SA has stuff made in brazil. The Colts are still made here. I *thought* a '03 Springfield was next on my list but after seeing a friend's Henry and this video and some other readin', I think my first new long gun's gonna be a Henry.. question is.. 45-70, .44 Mag or a Long Ranger in .308. Don't give your $ to the foreign gunmakers (or foreign owners of American gunmakers). And because Springfield Armory bends over backwards to placate the antigunners, my M14's gonna be Fulton, price be damned. (ok, so I also have sig, that was made in New Hampshire, but I wonder if the $ ends up in Sweden or Switzerland or Germany or wherever Sig-Sauer's headquartered today)
