I love how at 2:44 it's like a twisted version of "Song of the Stars" (one of Luna's themes) and it reflects really well what is happening to Ravus (Luna's brother) in this section of the game

Ah man gota love ff15 music. I love the voilin/cello part near the start that builds the tension. Well it goes throught most of it. But also all the digital audio, it goes so well together. I love how they can do this in games. Like games really do give more freedom to composers. I typed this before Marco basically said the same thing. Lol high five Marco. Also the osts for some of the dlcs are really good. I loved one of the songs in episode Ignis. I dont know the name for it but its his battle theme. That song stood out to me in all the dlcs. There is also some other good songs in them as well. This games ost is so good you could actually play it just for the music.

I have mixed feelings about FFXV as a game but the OST absolutely slaps. Yoko Shimomura went all out for it, and it absolutely pays off. I think my favorite track is "Omnis Lacrima"... oh and great reaction as always!

I've always found it interesting how RAVUS AETERNA doesn't seem to have Ravus in it at all. It holds the theme of the empire (first heard in The Aggressors and lastly heard right before RAVUS AETERNA in An Empire in Ruins) as well as Song of the Stars, a song connected to Lunafreya. Considering the state of Ravus during the fight it makes sense to strip him of everything but the fundamentals: Ex-High Commander of the empire and brother to the Oracle.
Episode Ignis is where we hear the Theme of Ravus in a few songs. One of which is A Tear-Stained Sword, the other time you fight Ravus. I highly recommend listening to it even if not for a video.

The "dub stepping" reminded me of a heart beat to go along with the anxiety, cool stuff

The brass part almost sounds like they took inspiration from the imperial March from Star Wars. Thanks for the video!

Considering how depressing this fight is, the theme is really fun and exciting.

On your free time, you could listen to the mashup "Ravus Aeterna X Song of the Stars" which adds the vocals of Song of the Stars during the chorus section and it sounds great !

Final fantasy games always had epic themes, but FF15 had a darker and a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack instead of the usual high fantasy themes. FF14 imo however has the best themes in any FF game i ever played.

I kinda want him to continue this FFXV music streak by suggesting Hydraean's Wrath, Battle on the Bridge, Barbarus, and The Two Protectors.

Well, I personally might not call Ravus Aeterna as giving a “sense of anxiety”, but rather, it’s supposed to evoke a sense of… I forgot the term for it, but the feeling of something tragically, needlessly, and undeservedly lost, and can never be regained. If one has played through the game, we can understand the circumstances leading up to this fight, and why this piece was composed for this point in the story, as well as why it was composed the way it was.

Hey, I know horror games aren't something that have appeared on this channel before, but I think you would love the OST of Layers of Fear 2. It's quite an underrated soundtrack, that in my opinion deserves more attention. Anyways much love and keep up the good work! :)

I just try to hear it's main theme and--Yikes, no thank you. I'm shivering already, it had me already.
You might try DS 3 Friede ost, that hauntingly eerie choir still made my heart skipped a beat out of fright from her black flame strike.

    *spoilers ahead*
I think this plays when you fight Ravus as a daemon. I like that you can listen to "song of stars" in "ravus aeterna" because it gives you the feeling that even after losing his humanity Ravus still mourns for Lunafreya, showing how much he loves his sister and also his calling as an oracle because, like he said, he is the son of Fleuret House, Blood of the Oracle. I believe that the anger behind "ravus aeterna" is because of his grief but also the struggle to help the king as an oracle while he hates Noctis.

this song, especially the song of the stars part gives me chills. XV may be my absolute favorite fictional setting in terms of raw potential sadly gone to waste (also & especially including versus xiii's aspects), and if there was one thing i could wish for, it would be versus xiii in its true glory and power to release. i'm convinced we'd never get another experience like it.

From your videos of Nier Automata and Genshin, I like all what you brings to the table about all these songs, opinions, analysis. I know that You mainly do Game Music reactions but if You can listen to these two songs from Date A Live anime series OST, Seirei's theme and then Hanten Tohka's theme, it would be great. These two songs have a great dichotomy, considering Seirei's theme is works for the introduction of the heroine and the seconds, a dark turning point

I never really paid enough attention to the music in FFXV, even though it's honestly one of my favorite games in the franchise (which I realize is an unpopular opinion to have, but it wouldn't be as interesting if everyone loved and disliked the same things)...

As always, thank's for the music. I've heard it while playing the game but never took time to listen it closely :)

Have to say, I listened to FFXV ost a lot, some tracks are exceptionally good. However now that I compare it with FromSoft tracks, as I enjoy your channel a lot recently, I must admit, Ravus battle theme is very simple in its structure. It's memorable but not as deep or complex as I remembered it. Definitely need to give the ost another listen.

This game has so many problems to me. But the atmosphere, story concept and music were spot on.
I remember feeling so panicked playing this part of the game, and simultaneously feeling so sad. At the end of it all, Ravus wanted to achieve the same thing Regis did, but via a different way. And that ending was what he was rewarded with.
Anyways, as a former highschool choir singer, your videos are super cool. I hope you keep it up!

y'know what song doesn't get much attention? In the name of the father fro. Soul Calibur. it'd Nightmare's original theme and you can feel the sadness and desperation leaking through in the song. especially when Sophitia pleads with him to let her help him.
