  • In this tutorial, we'll learn how to fly an RNAV approach using the UNS-1Ew FMS (in the FJS Q4XP). We start in cruise at FL90, and look at the steps you'll need to take to set up and fly the RNAV 27 approach into Dundee (EGPN).

    I love this aircraft. My landings suck big time. Thanks for this tutorial.

    So I’m moving over from a legacy 600 to a lear 45XR. My experience is proline 21, Honeywell and Garmin. So far this thing is a total pain….

    Thanks - very helpful video. If there had been LNAV/VNAV minima, except for setting a DA is the procedure identical?

    Real world Q-400 approach should arm itself 30NM from destination aerodrome.

    • @amyinorbit
      @amyinorbit  Год назад

      Indeed, and it does here too. You can also arm it manually when you are within 50nm

      @@amyinorbit My Q4XP has to be armed manually, it never arms automatically for whatever reason.
      I noticed there isn’t an option to invert flight plan either. Is that something that is just missing on my end?

    So I'm an absolute idiot. I pressed the "Activate Approach" button - exactly like you said not to - and my entire flight went to hell...an hour and a half into the thing. Well, now I *really* know not to press that button.

      It's a bit of a pain when that happens, but you can still get back on course 🙂 What to do:
      1. Press "CNCL APPR" on the nav page
      2. either do a direct to (using the DTO key) or a manual leg change (on the NAV page, select the from leg, select the leg you were flying from, then accept the TO waypoint).

    Good video but not very consistent. You are saying one thing and then add something new into it and leave the previous thing you are discussing in the middle for eg I did not get from where you get 2800 ft and not discuss abt tht...Be little more consistent.
