I took in so much valuable information in this post! I can't wait to try this out when I get home from work. Thank you for all the awesome content you share on here, man. 👍
Learned a lot watching you paint. Really liked the purple you mixed for the "good" sky. Am I correct in assuming you're a follower of John Carlson when it comes to determining values?
Hi, been watching your channel for sometime... what medium do you use...cz i can only see you washing your brushes in turp ( i guess)....and then going straight to canvas...
Thanks for watching! In the studio I clean my brushes with linseed oil and use Gamsol for a medium to loosen the paint a bit. Outside I just use cheap mineral spirits both to clean brushes and as a medium.
Not painting clouds and sun OVER an already painted sky makes so much sense! Like a puzzle!! Thank you so much!
Excellent lessons about sunset colors, so useful and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and talent.

Yes, bigtime follow of Carlson, and Payne. I studied under Scott Christensen who is also a huge follower of both. Thanks for watching!
@@JasonTako I have Carlson's book, and Payne's is on my wishlist. Right now I'm painting with watercolor, but I'm hoping to brave oils at some point!

So no “killing the canvas” on sunsets? You prefer to work on white?
