Norman is the sweetest man I have ever met in the entertainment world. His kindness and care towards his budgies, is legendary. They play along, because they are trained, yes. But, also because they are happy. Norman is revered among other performers who use animals of any kind, due to his positive training. The birds are free to fly whenever they want, and have on occasion. But, they always return to their loving and caring handler. Norman's menagerie of budgies have lived much longer than they would in the wild. They have no predators, they are fed well, taken to the vets regularly, housed perfectly, and loved like family members. While he's not doing magic, per se, what he does is magical, and beautiful. He is not "rude on them," as some have suggested. His handling keeps them safe and comfortable. Do not condemn what you do not know. Bravo to Norman. One of my favorite acts, and certainly one of my favorite people in this world.
Im not sure if these Cuties are happy. But I'm sure that animals belong into the wild. I hope they are fine. If so it's a great show. You little winged famous showmasters! ♡♡♡♡
As a budgie owner I can tell u they are fine and they are very healthy and active budgies. They only belong in the wild if they are from the wild. These pet birds never spent a day in the wild and have no survival skills to be in the wild. They will be attacked by bigger birds like crows within a day
This is so cruel, I want to cry. These poor little birds are forced to do whatever this guy wants them to do with no choice but to do it in order to get back to the flock. Their wings are cut so they can’t escape. The way he grabs them and shakes them makes me sick. Whoever can’t see the cruelty in this must be blind. I’m disappointed in humans like this. This is an evil man.
5 years late. To me they look happy, these little birds are super smart. If they were treated cruelly they’d definitely react to that and wouldn’t trust him holding them.

1:35... they can fly
If they didn't feel safe they would have bitten him so hard that he would start bleeding.
