This brought me to tears. This song reminds me of my older brother that lost his fight with cancer after ten years. He loved sailing and this was his favorite song. Thank you for a beautiful rendition of Sailing.
I heard a quote the other day, I can’t remember where: “We use art to decorate space, we use music to decorate time.” This song, and other Christopher Cross songs, take me back so many years; to another time in my life. So pleasant; so nostalgic.
Absolutely mate! Couldn't agree more. I've always felt the same about this song. It instantly evokes a feeling of nostagia and takes me back to a time when I experienced love for the first time. That excitement, the innocence, the full of life attitude without a thing to worry about. Everytime I hear this song, it's like I'm living all of that again. Time flies! Life goes on but memories remain. Though I'm still young but this song is pure nostagia especially when you're hearing it while sipping on coffee watching the sunset from your balcony. Cheers mate!! And also a great cover by HSCC!
Unbelivable...I'm 66 and this music is what I grew up with. Original perfomers are great but, you guys and girls are just as good. What you've been able to do....ask any other band to replocate what you've been able to do. OUTSTANDING!
In response to the last comment ... its heart warming to see musicians use their talent brains and passion and a lot of spirit to create a new way to performe to the world... I get so sick of musicians complaining about the music business...I say go watch HSCC ...They have set a NEW STANDARD... just like Rick Beato and the pedal guys ... WAKE UP PEOPLE ... the world is your oyster not a prison like the democrats want to lock us up into
Let us thank Christopher Cross for this song. It is one of the best, most sensual, most peaceful, relaxing ever written and composed. And you guys are the best to honour him.
I was 9 years old when this song was released. IT WAS MY JAM! I would have my mom crank up the volume in the car, and put the windows all the way down to feel the breeze on my face like I was on a sail boat.
Wonderful harmonies in this one - and it's always nice to see bands that still use horns instead of leaning on keyboard effects. There's something wonderful about bands that use real brass (or sometimes woodwinds) in music today.
This is one of the most beautiful songs of all time. The musical arrangements and performance are magnificent. What a great band. Greetings from Chile.
Bands are always looking for danger when trying to cover a song like this - wow , what a great version with great attention to detail and faithful nuances of the original song.
@Mario Crema thank you. I was awarded the herb alpert scholarship in high school and throughout the years I've watched and preformed myself. I'm going to look into this request of yours.
Beautiful song it's hard to follow in the footsteps of Christopher Cross saying that the singer definitely did this song justice and off course the band always delivers 👍
Agree, the Hindleys are back to their best. Lead guitarrist brilliant, and the band in complete harmony with each other and us out there. Extra praise for the young man on Sax, and of course my favourite singer...Almost as good as his performance of Bostons..More than a feeling...but to top that would be very very difficult..To bring out a new song each week, means alot of hard work and rehearsing..Great stuff
That's a voice from God ❤... brought me right to tears.. this song reminds me of my dad who passed a few years ago. We both used to hike up the White Mts. of New Hampshire and the Adirondacks of NY-- that was our paradise.
Some music you must listen to at volume. Not just for the sake of volume but to hear all the detail in what the band is doing. This is one of those bands. All those subtle pieces that make it what it is. Outstanding work. e.g. How 'perfect' the bass player is. Really makes all the difference.
On a trip to Hawaii, my daughter, (then about ten)and I took the rental car for a day trip around Oahu. We played this over and over in the cassette player. It was a perfect song for the beauty we saw and our time together. I’ve always told her this is the song to play when they spread my ashes someday. She and her partner are now working on fixing their first sailboat together. You never know in this life how it can turn out.🤗
I haven’t heard this song in ages. Hearing this right now brought tears to my eyes. Thinking of simpler times back then. Thanks for this superb cover. You’ve done it great justice
Yes, I know the times you are referring to. Wasn't it so much simpler ? So much hate and discontent nowadays. I miss those times , and the people that I shared those times with.
This reminds me of sailing Lake Travis and the feel of the sun on my face and the wind in my flowing hair. I love the song. I took all my beaus sailing. Wonderful memories. Thank you. I just remembered when I took my mom and baby at dusk. Glorious.
Thank you Jordan and HSCC you always reawaken those dusty memories stored on shelves of my memory. Great music bonds us together and your reimagining of Sailing is absolutely sublime.
Man, I was such a big fan of Christopher Cross!! His voice was heaven sent!! Remember him performing on Solid Gold .... WOW!! Thank you guys!! Luv everything you guys do!👍💪👏
Me too. He was terribly ill a few months back, but I believe he is making good progress, thankfully, so I hope we may see him on tour again in a year or two. Would love to see him in concert.
Wow, this is a monumental turning point for HSCC! Over the last 3 years, HSCC has built a fabulous international ‘cover-band’ reputation with its weekly online releases of classic songs performed live. That reputation has seen HSCC deservedly become one of the most loved and respected cover-bands on the Internet and all their success to date has been underpinned by TWO solid pillars. The first of those two pillars is the amazing quality of musicianship delivered by the array of talented vocalists and instrumentalists who have participated in HSCC’s expansive video catalogue of performances. The second of those two pillars is the exceptionally high standard of HSCC’s post-performance production (sound-mixing) that only a few of the other successful online cover-bands have been able to match. As a lead guitarist with over 50 years of experience under my belt, and a fellow Australian, I have admired HSCC ever since I first became aware of its online presence when the COVID lockdowns started back in March 2020. Almost 3-months ago, HSCC’s production pillar suffered a bit of shakiness when Darren Mullan left the band and Dave Ross took over the sound-mixing role that had previously been performed by Darren to perfection. To many of HSCC’s fans, especially those with a trained ear, the band suddenly did not sound quite as good as it used to sound. The mixes were still good, but they fell slightly short of being the great mixes we had become accustomed to. This was disappointing and many fans have since been posting critical comments. Some of the criticisms have been constructive but some of them have been destructive to the point that last week’s release of “Dancing Queen” was undeservedly subjected to a barrage of negative comments that had a nasty smell of an online conspiracy against HSCC. Fortunately for us genuine fans, the HSCC team did not buckle under that very suspicious ‘way-over-the-top’ attack because this week they have bounced back and treated us to a superb rendition of “Sailing” which has BOTH pillars intact and as solid as ever. Not only does “Sailing” feature HSCC’s highly-professional musicianship, but it also features a return to the gold-standard sound quality of the old HSCC. So, I would like to thank everyone at HSCC (and especially Dave Ross) for their dedication, persistence, and resilience in the face of challenges imposed by ever-changing circumstances. Departures, even if sad, happen in every band so I’m saying it’s now time for everyone to cease lamenting over Darren’s departure and to move forward because it looks like HSCC is back to ticking all boxes for its fans. Thank you HSCC, you are much appreciated.
Really? I’m listening with a pair of quality Bose headphones, and I can’t hear the percussionist. Go to time stamp 2:38 and come back and tell me if you can hear anything? Muffled is the word.
@@philgower292 Hi Phil, coincidentally I too use quality Bose headphones (mine are noise cancelling Quietcomfort 35 II). Being both a muso and a fan of HSCC, I listen carefully to every HSCC song several times over. In addition to focusing on the overall sound of each song, I also focus on listening closely to each vocalist and each instrumentalist in isolation, particularly in terms of their individual performance, level of talent, and where/how they've been positioned in the final mix. Yes, in the past few months since Darren's departure, Dave's mixes may not have quite reached the high bar set by Darren but, in this case, Dave's "Sailing" mix is spot-on. I hope he keeps it going from here on. Now, in specific relation to your concern about not hearing Steve Todd's percussion in the mix (or it being "muffled"), I suggest you take another listen. Steve is playing 3 different percussion instruments in this video, namely triangle, chimes, and congas (the small hanging bell is not relevant). Dave has correctly featured Steve's triangle and chimes prominently in the mix, so everyone can definitely hear them very nicely indeed. In terms of the two conga drums, their signature 'popping' beat can be heard throughout the song, albeit more subtly than the triangle and the chimes. Dave has correctly positioned them in this song as support instruments, not as featured instruments. Steve's congas are given feature status in some of HSCC's other songs, where appropriate. Phil, I hope this clears things up a little for you. Cheers, John.

Beautifully played. Brings tears to my eyes too. Remember where I was at Teesside University in 1980 when I first heard Christopher Cross. All the best to everyone. Stay safe. Ted.
(Senior college in Economics).
I thought that I was sailing on a beautiful ocean in a yacht. This performance is perfectly done. I am going to listen to this at least five times back to back. Love you guys and thank you for giving us great songs with your on spin on it. Con, you are the Man
what I love most about HSCC is they pay such great respect to the original tune and vocals. Their music makes me want to listen to more classic tunes. Keep it up!
You know, I continue to love this band, in whatever iteration of ensemble. Truly inspiring, every production. Thank you for for helping me through these past several months.
Wow..kid can play that horn…took this tune to another level. Great vocals…good to see the drummer who can sing back. The guitar player always looks like he is having a blast…like I can’t believe I’m playing with these guys.
Beautiful memories with this song in the summer of 1980 studying in Milwaukee and Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Senior college in Economics. I met the most beautiful girl in Brookfield, Wi. At her family's lake house, we were sailing on her sailboat and suddenly SAILING was heard on the radio in the background and it was a very passionate afternoon in the middle of the lake. It's been 43 years and I remember her with great affection. Her family treated me very well, on the weekends when I went to visit her, Friday 6 in the afternoon until Sunday at 2 in the afternoon when I returned to the Campus where I lived in the University Residences. An experience that I remember every time I listen to this song. Now she lives in Florida and is dedicated to Real Estate. She is happily married to an American. Each of us follows our path. “Where there was fire 🔥… Ashes remain” 🙏 Today, with my 66 years of life, it still occupies a place in my heart. 🇲🇽♥️USA
Just hearing the intro of this song takes you back to the past and makes you feel so sad that you can't even tell why. Christopher Cross did a very nostalgic song and this cover is as awesome as the original.
Reminds me of my brother. He sailed to Florida, his dream. He lost his life there from the hands of an officer. Such a beautiful rendition of this song. Thank you
Melody for the soul that this band so finely preserves... Great rendition...Great sound.....Lovely music right now the world needs it... Keep the art fully alive... Job well done👋👋👋
I was 11 years old when this song came out. Still today my favorite song from that era. You Guys absolutely nailed it. What a treat it is to see you play our favorite songs.
Jordan is always precise, with that tenor voice he moves with great ease and intensity; Big surprise. And what to say about the band. They always surprise, encourage, invite. Long life to HSCC.
This is one of those songs that touches the depths of your heart and soul as you seek those moments or places that give you peace and serenity in life...trying to escape the chaos of the world. For me it is being on my boat or even riding my motorcycle on a country mountain road...love it!
I guess we all come back to our fave HSSC Songs. So,so many. There's something magically moving with this one. I sail or I call it sailing. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I suppose it's a form of meditation. For me it's laying out in the sun, eyes closed. Letting mind wander as I imagine I'm literally flying above the sea. I can hear the sound of the waves, cries of gulls and colour of the sea below is like a jewel.. With the warmth of the sun I'm literally sailing. Great cover of a classic.
My fifth time listening to this Perfection, Jordan your voice is so beautiful, you put your heart and soul whatever song you sing! All of you , are just amazing together!! I have a few more friends listening now. .... magical this song is .....
This song got stuck in my head the first time I heard it. This is such a great cover, I can’t stop listening to your voice Jordan, it’s so damn good. Kudos to the young and talented trumpeter who made a special part.👏👏👏 I was totally entertained not just by listening, but by watching as well the entire video.
Sou simplesmente vidrada nesse solo. Tinha que ser teclado ou piano mesmo. Mas é claro, só minha opinião.
It's been a long hard day at work and it's summer time here in Texas. HOT! But when I listened to this song and watched the brilliant performers do what they love it took me sailing. What a way to end the day. Thanks Con and all of you. Fabulous job everyone. !!
This old girl has just turned 83 the boys from HSCC are more than the best. They do all the old songs with great sound,ad this one in particular “Sailing” is gonna be played at my cremation .. whenever…..but I sailed Sydney harbour every weekend when I was young from Middle Harbour Yacht Club
Wow! Not only was the musicality on point, but also the unassuming nature of you, 8 talented musicians, reminds me of the great artists/bands of the 70s/80s. No crazy, over-produced nonsense. Just a bunch of talented guys jamming. THANK YOU.
This song always takes me back to a wonderful place in time. Life was simpler, people were healthy and life was good. Another fantastic cover of a very very underrated song and performer.
I have loved this song since its release decades ago and saw C. C. in concert here in CT. You have it mastered, and the addition of that expressive flugelhorn is pure perfection!
Pure class on a holy grail song and subtle band arrangement to accommodate horn too. Nice jazz interlude brings it all back to basics and we were all sailing again…great stuff
Been around bands my entire life and I still cannot believe how music, with all the different musicians and instruments like this, can come together to become something this beautiful. Just goosebumps. Sailing is a masterpiece and you guys were amazing!

If you listen with headphones you will hear absolutely gorgeous percussion what a musician that man is!

How ironic! We just got Christopher Cross' greatest hits CD. I love this. From one of your favorite central Texas fans and his wife!
Chris Cross has such a unique voice, there is really no other however Jordan did justice for the overall mood. Great band , team win.!!
Beautifully played. Brings tears to my eyes too. Remember where I was at Teesside University in 1980 when I first heard Christopher Cross. All the best to everyone. Stay safe. Ted.
Such a beautiful song....completely captures you. So well performed. Lovely, simply lovely. Thanks!
(Senior college in Economics).
One of the most beautiful songs ever produced performed by the most talented musicians nowadays. Thanks.
Cheers Alberto
I thought that I was sailing on a beautiful ocean in a yacht. This performance is perfectly done. I am going to listen to this at least five times back to back. Love you guys and thank you for giving us great songs with your on spin on it. Con, you are the Man
Memories of a love that is no more but never forgotten! Thank you HSCC for those memories!
what I love most about HSCC is they pay such great respect to the original tune and vocals. Their music makes me want to listen to more classic tunes. Keep it up!
You know, I continue to love this band, in whatever iteration of ensemble. Truly inspiring, every production. Thank you for for helping me through these past several months.
Can't stop watching this over and over again. Superb. And that flugelhorn really makes something of the instrumental.
One of the greatest songs of all time! The ending on the flugelhorn brought tears! Just takes you back..a great cover by HSCC!
It's great to hear a famous song with a wonderful singing voice and a wonderful performance. Thank you from Japan.
Jordan is always precise, with that tenor voice he moves with great ease and intensity; Big surprise. And what to say about the band. They always surprise, encourage, invite. Long life to HSCC.
Congratulations !
Guys, from Oklahoma, USA to the Land Down Under… this one is EXCELLENT! Thank you!
This is one of those songs that touches the depths of your heart and soul as you seek those moments or places that give you peace and serenity in life...trying to escape the chaos of the world. For me it is being on my boat or even riding my motorcycle on a country mountain road...love it!
I am a big fan of Christopher Cross and of you guys.
Again you never fail to to put your own stamp of great songs.
Thank you so much.👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️🇬🇧
Harrison Smith's masterful solo on the flugelhorn brought this all-time classic to its 4th dimension - timbral perfection! Bravo!
My Favourite song from my Favourite original artist Mr CHRISTOPHER CROSS..... hmm ...very clear cover.. thanks guys..🙏🙏
This is so incredibly lovely. One of the most beautiful song covers I’ve ever heard…Bravo!
Anytime I hear this song, I feel like I've been wrapped up in a soft, warm blanket...so comfy.
Jordan Lennons voice and the Flugelhorn are brilliant, great version guys
Thanks so much Graham! Much appreciated! 😊
@@JordanLennon Your very welcome Jordan, keep the music alive
SAILING was NOT intended to be released as a single….the world is a better place because it was!
Absolutely.. such a beautiful song
What a wonderful group of talented artists!!
The trumpet [update: flugelhorn] interlude - wow! I did NOT see that coming. Very tasteful and a complimentary addition. I loved this!
I believe it's a Fugal Horn.........................
Agree it fit so beautifully added another dimension to their version of this wonderful song!
Flugelhorn. Divine. They use it frequently for just the right songs. Try Sweet Thing.
Anyone has sheet copy of the trumpet? Very cool
Indeed, the horn is a very, very well chosen addition to the song
I guess we all come back to our fave HSSC Songs. So,so many. There's something magically moving with this one. I sail or I call it sailing. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I suppose it's a form of meditation. For me it's laying out in the sun, eyes closed. Letting mind wander as I imagine I'm literally flying above the sea. I can hear the sound of the waves, cries of gulls and colour of the sea below is like a jewel.. With the warmth of the sun I'm literally sailing. Great cover of a classic.
Christopher Cross classic! That spans generations. Another amazing performance! Many fans in Brazil. Regards from Brazil.
🥰🥰
@@JordanLennon come jam with me!!!....it's a long way from down under though!
@@dogmutty2 😊✌️
@@JordanLennon keep rocking mate!
Finally! The bassist’s brother on keyboard! The stars have aligned!
My favorite song and a heartbreakingly beautiful cover. I love it.
THIS is really beautiful in every way. Wonderful tamber in the singers' voices, and that flugelhorn -- so very sweet.
BRAZIL HERE 🇧🇷The quality of HSCC is unquestionable. Excellent choices with impeccable rereading. Good music for those with good taste👏👏👏👏❤️
I agree with you!
👏🏼👏🏼
JUST BEAUTIFUL....There are no words except BEAUTIFUL thank you gentlemen!!!!
It's been a long hard day at work and it's summer time here in Texas. HOT! But when I listened to this song and watched the brilliant performers do what they love it took me sailing. What a way to end the day. Thanks Con and all of you. Fabulous job everyone. !!
A summery winter's day in JOZI.Not a breath of wind not good for Sailing unless you're listening to this Majestic song.Great cover HSCC rock!
Well said Scott, stay hydrated, I’m in Northern Oklahoma
So Richly, Perfectly and Exquisitely Performed!
100 👍 fellas!
THANK YOU.
A qualidade do HSCC é inquestionável. Escolhas excelentes com impecável releitura. Música boa para quem tem bom gosto👏👏👏👏❤️
Man this band doesn’t cease to amaze me!👌😎👉♥️👍absolutely beautiful!
It just so on point with the original Artist’s. They are so awesome, every time!
they are all great musicians... each one faithfully executes his part...
The best cultural ambassador of Australia for the world is HSCC.

This song always takes me back to a wonderful place in time. Life was simpler, people were healthy and life was good.
Another fantastic cover of a very very underrated song and performer.
OMG, that trumpet gives me chills……….
