Every month i'm wating for these terrain videos. Associating them with board building in diferent ways makes it so much more fun to watch than just painting it.
This terrain set looks -incredible- and making the plasma coils separate is an attention to detail that I don't see often enough. I might have to pick this set up for myself! One suggestion, though: Try painting your plasma in reverse. The hotter things are, the brighter they get, so if you put your white in the deepest recesses and at the base of the jets of flame and fade out to the pink as it gets further away, you'll get the illusion that the plasma is literally glowing white-hot inside the pipes. It's a fun trick that has a massive impact!
The monthly terrain videos have quickly become one of my favorite videos. I really look forward to it each month especially when you already showed off the new terrain in another video before. Keep it up!
You got me thinking about my favorite gun in a video game. I think mine is the ripper from Unreal Tournament. Hearing “monster kill” while firing a barrage of saw blades bouncing down a hallway was always the best.
Hi I am newer to your channel. Been enjoying watching and applying your technics to my first minis and they have turned out better than I have ever imagined. I also like just the humor you bring to your videos. Thanks Eons!
The battery boy is unavailable right now .. got a nice sized project ordered from only-games otherwise! Can't wait to paint up a tesseract green glow on these pipes and reactors!
Wow, some of those pieces are so awesome! You guys really did a great job modelling them! Thanks for posting these on only-games as I don't have a printer! :)
As a follow up, i would say Do Not order this terrain set from Only Games, as the tolerances for the actual plasma inserts is as much as a 1/4 inch off. Perhaps the StL files may be in line and Only Games has a physical production issue. Whatever the reason, I will have extensive large gaps to have tend to. This went from a project I was excited to do to one that I now dread to start.
I still really want to do a plasma guard kill team. There is something really slick about a crew of squishy regular human soldiers all packing ancient, tankbusting, unstable space hand cannons.
The classic plasma reactor kit, perfect for your Baneblade, to not be a internal combustion machine, just give it two, since it can take them. Lets you add plasma weaponry, without the energy condensor recharge times being that heavy. Even adds shields of some kind, if so wanted, since the power is then there. Custodus, your tank is here, just pick your turreted weapon system, plasma gun or artillery turret (terrain piece, the big one). Even better with the big walkers. Then you can fit several of them, in a row,
If you paint that you sized plasma pistol you should consider masking everything but the grip off and painting it with the spray plastidip. It should make it ever so slightly less uncomfortable to hold, and it just catches the light a little differently.
I think plasma coils look a lot better if you put a strong white wash over solid bright color. Emissive objects have the opposite of normal shadows, so the deepest recesses are what should be the brightest. Doing like yours just looks like a white object with pink shadows.
Wait wait wait.... was that one of Sean's tanks? He plays with unpainted stuff?? What the Hell Jay? How you gonna let your boy play with grey plastic and constantly beat you? You should make a house rule where unpainted plastic units have worse stats or cost double the points.
Personal taste, but I always found plasma effects on those ribbed things always work best, if the lowest part is white and you build up darker color to the raised parts, giving it kinda inner glow. Having the darker color on the lowest parts doesn't really deliver that glow effect. It just seems like normal highlights.
stop putting off Jay! its time to build and paint a Warlord Titan. i'm not interested in watching anybody else do so. you are the most entertaining builder/painter on the net
When I hear "plasma" in terms of weaponry, I think it's shorthand for "magnetically-confined hydrogen plasma," which could actually be a thing and would be as absurdly hot as the weapons are described.
Is that a Nerf plasma pistol you made there? If you want to make a good pistol grip, you should carve one out of foam or something until you get the shape right, then digitize that.
So customizable.... With more time and printing (and some magnets) could swap the glowing plasma coils to different themes while keeping the main pipes the same.
We test print them in resin and pla, while resin will look extra crispy, I still print most these pieces in pla. If your trying to get the best bang for your back, you can print the pipes and larger pieces in FDM, and then use the resin on your smaller models like the servitor and computer panels.
what would be also "fun" if you have to roll a dice everytime so step in front of a flare skull to see if it goes off, maybe with a modifier how often the pipes had been hit that makes the network unstable
I love the set, y'all did a great job on the design of these bits, but I _gotta_ give a little gripe about how you paint plasma. Hot things are brighter closer to the source, the white heat should be focused in the trenches and folds, not on the tips of the ribs. For the open "flame" of the vent, it should be pink, perhaps even dark pink toward the tip, and white hot near the vent/mouth. If you wanted to achieve this en masse for a project like this, perhaps airbrushing pink from steep angles to only hit the ridges would work. I highly recommend Duncan Rhodes' tutorial on plasma to get a good overview of how good, and convincing it can look to paint your plasma bits in a more sensical way. Cheers!
You could use a fun rule while playing with this terrain where you could choose to shoot at the plasma pipes themselves and they would be super tanky but if you manage to destroy them it deals big damage to every unit within 6 inches or something
For next year why not make terrain sets similar to your picks for the best terrain ever from GW. Your artists could make great unique interpretations of those classics. They are all discontinued so it wouldn't hurt GW sales at all.

Stop it Jay...stop it! Don't make me go into the Discord and tell you how impressed I continue to be with your painting skills
loved to see you lay some mayor pipe ;)
Every month i'm wating for these terrain videos. Associating them with board building in diferent ways makes it so much more fun to watch than just painting it.
I'm excited for some Necromunda on this channel! Hoping for a few games using all this terrain!
@@FFLegion Also, them making necromunda oriented terrain someday would be a dream. Likely not incredible marketing decision, but i'd be stocked
Having the plasma part be separate would also open it to being printed in clear resin to add led’s inside would be sick
You may be the person that seems to enjoy the hobby the most here on youtube, I love it

You get it! That is the way! He's doing it all wrong! I tried to tell him that too!
You make so much content in 20-30mins that other RUclipsrs string out for a year or more. It's wild how hobby productive you are
The monthly terrain videos have quickly become one of my favorite videos. I really look forward to it each month especially when you already showed off the new terrain in another video before. Keep it up!
Yuss, they finally have a physical print service!
Very very very expensive in europe!
Was there a particular reason you chose to not let the teal paint dry before stripping it off with a damp tooth brush? Speed, perhaps?
I hope you know this but your one of the best painters/hobby heroes on RUclips. Keep that energy EoB team!!!
Dude, I have no clue how you ended up in my recommended feed but your painting skills are awesome and weirdly calming. Thanks!

This looks stunning, love the color choices

Seeing you spraying in the middle of the room besides all of your books, modells and maps hurts my brain XD

Use a scrubber sponge, it won't dange the plastic, but it will catch everything you want when chipping.
10:26 favorite eons of battle moment ever

Damn this terrain will be awesome with toxic green plasma! Good job
hey jay, what kind of airbrush do you use?
would love to see the plasma pistol be painted up like the bolt pistol you did!
Looking good
Why do some people paint the white hot part on the edges of the plasma coils/rings and not closest to the core/base?
I'm guessing speed for the sheer bulk of the terrain he has to get through. Though tbh, I don't know why he'd need so much.
I love this terrain
Wow! The terrain is beautiful. Would y'all ever consider making some fantasy terrain more suited to Age of Sigmar?
10:25 "now kith" smush's faces
Good to see the pipes are working at the Imperium's bubblegum factory

Plasma is the best and I put it on all the models I can
Wait wait wait.... was that one of Sean's tanks? He plays with unpainted stuff?? What the Hell Jay? How you gonna let your boy play with grey plastic and constantly beat you? You should make a house rule where unpainted plastic units have worse stats or cost double the points.

Could you please share the STL for the plasma pistol or give a link where you get it?
Nice work. Great job
Cheers
What about painting the eyes of the huge skulls? Maybe a pink or red be nice
He already mentioned the Terminator, I was expecting a glow in the eye sockets.
I thought id never see the day EonsofBattle would start selling his pipe, but here we are.
You considered getting/making a spray booth with all these scenery projects?
On this episode: "Behold, my stuff!"
MORE SLANEESH CRAVING!!!!
would be cool to see you do a real size 40k weapon project like 3D print a bolter or a primarch exclusive weapon, assembling and painting it
Cool as always 👍
I feel like I saw the whole plasma life cycle.
Nice to see you laying down time pipe
tempting me to sub to patreon with all that plasma glory
So much plasma it’s over 9000 !
The plasma needs a magenta wash!
stop putting off Jay! its time to build and paint a Warlord Titan. i'm not interested in watching anybody else do so. you are the most entertaining builder/painter on the net

Cover? I don't think it should count as cover if you're hiding behind it and when it gets hit you get vapourised! 😂
Great terrain, nice work 👍
This video was Barbenheimer all over again lmao
2:30 SO. MUCH. PAINT. in the air
Im surprised you didn't use the fluorescent artist inks
For future realism remember high heat will cause rusting, so think about keeping it rustier on the thinnest parts and the hottest parts.
Is that a Nerf plasma pistol you made there?
If you want to make a good pistol grip, you should carve one out of foam or something until you get the shape right, then digitize that.
Looked like a pink worm rave going on there for a bit.
are the stl files for the terrain pre-supported for resin?
yup
Color shift paint would be fun.
Thats cool
I really want this terrain set after u built it
A plasma fart would have been funny. Grimdark humor.
Jay, why cant the monitors and servitors printed minis be purchased on Only Games?
They can’t in pla but they can in resin!
So customizable.... With more time and printing (and some magnets) could swap the glowing plasma coils to different themes while keeping the main pipes the same.
do i still get the tyranid terrain at this date if i Subscribe to your Patreon?
YES!!! ANOTHER PROP!!
Are the models you painted here pla or resin/do you have suggestions for which pieces to get in resin vs pla?

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback@@radiumminis
how cool and pro!!
Are the patreon terrain packs physical models or just STL files?
If I join the Patreon will I get access to any of the older monthly releases??
I do pink for my dark angels plasma. Looks like a hot hydrogen plasma and looks sick against the really deep green, bone, and black.
so the terrain is 3d printed?
love it!
Please do your desolation squad conversion
Sad you didn‘t add glow to the pipes. Looks stale to me.
PLEASE FINISH THE PLASMA PISTOL.
Also, I'm flipping the script and naming a Hellblaster after Jay.
Keeish! Keeish!
Maybe do a video where you go back and do a project like the 2 plasma pistols I liked your laz-pistol video from a while back.
Does anyone know what airbrush he uses
So I did all my Plasma pink for my space marines but I highlighted by dry brushing a sky blue over the pink.
🤮
Really like the terrain set but... It bothers me that the plasma is light over dark when it's supposed to be dark over light lol
I think Jay might like plasma as much as I do...
what would be also "fun" if you have to roll a dice everytime so step in front of a flare skull to see if it goes off, maybe with a modifier how often the pipes had been hit that makes the network unstable
7:34 Trigger discipline!
Did you look at your glove?
These look compatable with the various GW terrain pipe sets.
Soooooooo many "that's what she" moments in this video.
I love the set, y'all did a great job on the design of these bits, but I _gotta_ give a little gripe about how you paint plasma. This is the leet way to do plasma.
You could use a fun rule while playing with this terrain where you could choose to shoot at the plasma pipes themselves and they would be super tanky but if you manage to destroy them it deals big damage to every unit within 6 inches or something
What’s you’re paint/glue/materials cost for a month! It must be astronomical!
For next year why not make terrain sets similar to your picks for the best terrain ever from GW. Your artists could make great unique interpretations of those classics. They are all discontinued so it wouldn't hurt GW sales at all.
Nity
I like it they came out good I just don’t like the color
now kiss *smooch*
Pizza
IM FIRST. I’m better
It’s true. He is… 😢
He's... he's him.
He is … the warhammer 40000
He’s beginning to believe
I am in awe of your superiority. All hail the first.
First! (I'm 6 hours late)
