    The Keitech easy shiner 4 inch has to be one of my favourites for the Werribee South area, especially around the rock wall. They make up for their lack of durability with the action, the Snapper on the right in my profile pic was on one and it smashed it really hard compared to how hard the other fish ate the Munroes.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  2 года назад +1

      Agreed the Keitech easy shiners look amazing. Prob the most lifelike looking minnow with beatiful colours and as you said they make up for the fact that they are not very durable by catching some great fish. Brilliant option for local snapper, mulloway and flathead. That's really interesting that you noticed a difference on how the fish hit the soft plastic for different brands.

      @@fishingmad Adding to the conversation of durability , The key ingredient with the featured lure is Salt. Used to infuse scent into the lure , it is also added to assist the lure to sink. Trade off ? a brittle lure and much stiffer plastic which tears very easily. The lure that @FISHIN' WITH JORDY mentions, is a pure PVC plastisol without salt. Much more flexible

    You rub the wound/sting on the belly of the flatty. The slime is an antitoxin

    i am think of getting a vanford 25 and a vodias 4 to 8 for my 3 inch plastics and bigger what do u think

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  2 года назад

      Zodias are great rods, I had the same combo but 3-6lb and it too was great for 3 inch soft plastics and bigger

    • @scrubs4143
      @scrubs4143 2 года назад +1

      @@fishingmad do u think the 4 8 is to heavy i am chuking everything up to the shimano 120 m bios and from a 3.5 grub or 3 slim

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  2 года назад +1

      I find the shimano finesse rods to be a tad heavier than other brands so sometimes there 3-6lb feels more like a 4-8lb. If you get a chance go into a store and feel it in your hands to see what you think. Eitherway both 4-8 and 3-6 will be great options

      I’m the opposite. I’ve always bait fished in the rivers and lakes. During lockdown I couldn’t get away so started putting the yak in at Altona and caught heaps of good flatties and pinky’s on plastics. They are sensational all around the bay.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  2 года назад

      Agreed Soft plastics are a great way to fish. Less preparation, less gear and often higher catch rates. ill make sure we keep covering all different forms. Got some bait and also some topwater vids coming up in the coming weeks
