The other great thing about Ulta is their return policy. If it doesn’t work for you, return it! My wavy journey has had many a product pitfall and ulta has earned my business with all the money they’ve returned to me for products that didn’t work on my hair.
Excellent point! I agree with this whole heartedly!!! They also have really awesome cash back rewards! I’ve saved so much money over the years because of it!
@@JannelleOShaughnessy plus going to Rakuten first gives you an extra 6% back! Ulta’s free shipping threshold is only $35 (or it’s just me that hits that no problem?) and they do lots of coupons. I bought some makeup there just last week when I returned some innersense products, because I was there and why not? Missed out on a 20% off coupon that was in my email and on Rakuten too 🤦🏻♀️
I am so glad you’re reviewing this. I’ve actually been using them since Christmas. Love the products but having trouble getting into a good routine with them. The gel is just so-so for me.
I don’t know if you have tried it or not but TGIN sold at ultra has some of my holy grail products!!! I use the green tea leave in, honey whip mousse, and gel 🙌🏻
The mousse definitely is stronger than they tell people. I would love to see you do a review on the Cake beauty hair line. Specifically their curl jelly and their mousse.
Yeah when I first used it I used waaayyy too much and my hair was so sticky qnd stiff but after I figured a right amount it was too sticky anymore and made my hair look dope. I still get it wrong sometimes and put way too much since I’m still figuring this hair thing out lol but I think? I’m getting somewhere on my hair journey. (And nym is cheap for me considering I’m a teenager and money is kinda sparse for me most of the time. Fortunately I just save since I don’t spend much lol. ) It was definitely overwhelming at first (swamped in most likely sponsored tbh top 10 lists of *very* expensive products that cost like 80-100 bucks, and also being like w u t with terms like squish to condish and etc. but I found my way lol and a hairdresser with curly helped me a bit because my mom has straight hair lol. P a i n when brushing hair every day. Lol.)
I would love to see you try L'Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Super Curls Cream. I haven't tried yet myself, but I have seen great reviews of this product
so not sure what happened but when I used the mouse it flash dried my hair and it took a few washes to get back to 'normal'. I tried it a few times thinking I was protein sensitive (but other gels, shampoos/conditioners have had them with no problems) so I just stopped using it. I would like to try their gel out though!
After using it for months, I'm starting to realize that it freeze-dries my hair a bit. but I want to use it up, so I just make sure my hair is dripping wet before I use it.
I used it 2 times a few months ago. Im still suffering the consequences. I had to buy a special shampoo that removes chemical residue to help it get it out. I have very curly hair and my hair looks wavy in some areas. Total nightmare.
Really enjoying these five minute Friday videos! Esp for affordable options. I've been wearing my hair curly since I was a kid, but I washed basically daily until about 25yo. Since then I have struggled to figure out the right products for me in order to stretch my time between wash days... Hopeful I'll find the right combo soon!
I do not know why but the mousse is just not it for me. I’ve tried so many times in different ways and it always made my hair too dry and stiff🙈I really wanted to love it cause I had heard so many things about it, I really tried 😂
Linzie Santana same here! I was so sad, the store was out of herbal essences (which My hair LOVES) so I bought the curl talk mousse, but my hair feels like straw and it’s taking several washes to bring it back to normal 😢
Hi! Do you have any equivalent line or products that you recommend for wavy/loose curly haired people who need low/no protein products? I tried the conditioner and love the scent, but suspect my hair may be low porosity and require less protein.
I’m newly on curly hair journey... and confused about silicones. So are these affordable, great products silicone-free? ...And is that important in styling products? Or just conditioners?
I am starting a hair journey and I found your Chanel and I love it ❤ I have been binge watching so many videos 😅 I have super long hair. Well water has completely ruined my hair. So I am now in the process of trying to reverse the damage. Anyway love the videos ❤🙌
@@StefSquiggles I feel it my hair is ruined. And hopefully I can eventually get it back 😬 I am definitely worried that it won't get back to a good place.
I too have been looking for affordable products with protein and tried out this curl cream. It's just not my cup of tea. I think the c13-14 isoparaffin doesn't agree with my hair. It felt weighed down but not in a "holy moly hydration" kind of way.
You can’t single out an ingredient and say that’s what’s causing the problem. Product formulation and mixture/processing changes the individual ingredients and basically make it all 1. Chemist would explain the science behind this
I do have an older video “starting curly hair journey? Watch this.” It needs to be updated, but can help in the meantime. Ooooh, I like your results! I see NYM products everywhere, but never tried them. I don’t think I NEED protein but, at this price point, I’m going to give it a shot. BTW, you look even more beautiful than usual! Thanks for sharing 😊
It’s When your hair feels hard, almost like you put to much gel. but most people like that becuase once it’s scrunched out it makes your hair last longer in between washes
@@jarelyj.1172 it defeats the purpose to use hard water shampoo/conditioner and then continue to use hard water. It's a cycle that I felt needed to be broken so now I use distilled water gallons to wash my hair with and my curls are back to normal ☺️

Fantastic, quick, clear, informative review! THANK YOU!!!

I really like the mousse (use it in gel-plop-mousse application) but a little definitely goes a looooong way!
I ❤ Not Your Mother's Curl Talk! The whole line is amazing! The best bang for your buck!

I like to cocktail the cream and the gel and get great results. And I totally love their Refreshing Foam!
The mousse did a better job
Your hair/curls look so much fuller
Loved it☺️
I agree…. for day one. It would have been nice to see a day two.
Thank you so much for reviewing these!!! I know I requested it as many others did as well!
Can you try the new Maui Moisture stylers when they're releasedt? Loving your 5 minute Fridays!!! 🥰

You can also buy these products on Target’s website! I’ve seen them at some Target stores as well as CVS and Meijer (if you live in the Midwest).

Looooove this line❤️
I like the mousse and gel, but the cream was too heavy for me.
